Chapter 32: Sparring Session
When Victor asked Erin to meet him in one of the empty paddocks bright and early the next day, to say Erin was surprised would be an understatement.
“We like to start the week off with some old-fashioned sparring to get the blood pumping for the rest of the week.” Victor explains as they walk hand in hand toward the paddock. Most of the pack is already inside the fence line stretching and warming up. Even the little kids are running around.
‘A real family affair, huh.’ Erin smiles when two of the kids start arguing over what their parents are scribbling on a piece of paper. His smile falters when he sees Ben walk past with a light cane basket; the father grins gleefully and drops the paper into it.
Erin gasps, realizing what it was that the kids were arguing over. “Are people placing bets?”
