The Costume

"Is the costume ready? Okay... I will come to pick it up tomorrow morning. What about the figure stakes, did you add the designs to them?" Park Hayoon asked over the phone.

It seems she received a positive reply because she replied to them cheerfully and ended the conversation.

"Mama is that my dress you were talking about?." Kim Hyejin asked curiously as she used a crayon πŸ–οΈ to paint some objects/pictures in her textbook. She was currently doing her assignments.

"Yes, your costume is ready, I will go and get it in the morning. But, you will only get to see it when you're back from school." Park Hayoon said to her as she gently squeezed her cheeks.

"Wow! I can't wait to see it!." Kim Hyejin said excitedly as she clapped her hands.

"Don't worry, you will it soon! But don't get distracted in class because of the dress, okay?." Park Hayoon said, making her promise to concentrate in class.

The next day in the afternoon, Kim Hyejin kept telling her uncle to walk faster.

"Hyejin-ah, why are you in a hurry?." Park Hayoon asked with an amused facial expression as he allowed the little girl to drag him forward.

"My dress for the competition must have arrived."

"How do you about that?."

"Mama told me I will get to see it when I come home from school. The dress must be beautiful, so I need to see it.!"

"Is it not just a simple dress, why are you gushing over it?."

"Uncle, I'm playing the role of Princess Belle, so how can my costume be described so easily as 'simple'?." Kim Hyejin asked in an annoyed tone.

"Alright, Miss Hyejin, this Incle is sorry!." Park Ji Hu said in apology, but he still had a playful smile on his face.

"Uncle, can you please walk faster?." Kim Hyejin said to her with a scrunched-up look.

Park Ji Hu glanced at the annoyed little girl. She looked like she would cry the next instant if he didn't comply with her request.

He smiled as he thought, 'Does she think if I chose to be in a standstill, she would be able to move my feet! Oh! My dear little Niece, you are a handful!.

"Uncle?!." Kim Hyejin screamed his name when she felt he wasn't paying attention to her.

"Sorry... Sorry. Alright, let me carry you in my arms, so we can reach the Bus Stop on time." Park Ji Hu said to her as he took her backpack πŸŽ’ from her and hung it on his back.

Next, he lifted her in his hands while holding unto her lunch box.

On a normal, Kim Hyejin would have rejected him, but she was in a hurry, okay? She was too excited and couldn't wait for her dress.

But I just hope she paid attention, while in class...πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

On getting to the doorstep of their house, Kim Hyejin rammed her little fist on the door as she screamed, "Grandma, Open the door! It's Hyejin!."

"Hey! Little girl calm down!." Park Ji Hu said to her in surprise. Was this how desperate she was to see her dress?! 😧

He was about to raise his fist to knock on the door after ringing the doorbell when Kim Hyejin beat him to it.

Park Ji Hu gave a glance to her uncle, and just then, the door opened.

It was Park Mun Hee that opened the door for them. She was surprised to see her granddaughter in someone's arms. That little child didn't like being treated like a child, but what happened today?

"Hello, πŸ‘‹ Grandma!." Kim Hyejin turned to greet her grandma.

Then immediately Park Ji Hu walked into the house, Kim Hyejin requested to be put down with much urgency in her voice, in a tone that could not be ignored.

Park Ji Hu immediately put her down as he and his mother watched Kim Hyejin walk away with her short legs.

"What's going on?." Park Hayoon asked as she came out from the kitchen with a glass of water in her hands, after staring at the direction the little figure disappeared to...

"Has Hyejin's costume for the competition next month, arrived?." Park Ji Hu asked as he crossed his arms to his chest.

"Yeah, but how do you know about that? Because I totally forgot to tell you and Mum?." Park Hayoon asked in surprise.

"Take a guess!." Park Ji Hu said to her as he squinted his eyes.

"Hyejin?!. Oh My God! Is that why she was in a hurry? Did that lad even pay attention in class as I asked her to?." Park Hayoon asked in surprise.

No wonder that little rabbit πŸ‡ scurried away in a hurry, and failed to notice her on her way out from the kitchen.

"You caused it. Maybe next time, don't let her about these things beforehand, or it would distract her." Park Mun Hee advised. Then she glanced towards the direction her granddaughter disappeared to, and a helpless smile formed on her face.

"Mama!!!." That was the voice of the little girl calling.

"What if I told her I failed to bring the dress today?." Park Hayoon asked her brother and mother with a funny expression on her face.

"If you don't want is to be at peace today, just go ahead!." Park Ji Hu said to her.

"Don't you dare?!." Park Mun Hee warned.

"Mama!!! I can't find the dress, where did you keep it?!." Came Kim Hyejin's voice for the second time.

"I think you'd better be going before she turns your bedroom upside down while on a mission to find her costume." Park Ji Hu advised.

He knew what that desperate-looking girl can do! 🀭

On that note, Park Hayoon hurried away.

"Mum you know what? I wouldn't be surprised if Hyejin doesn't ruin the good-looking bedroom." Park Ji Hu said to his mother.

"I wouldn't be surprised as well, because she has the same character trait as your sister." Park Mun Hee replied.

"What a perfect Match!." Park Ji Hu said to himself as his mother walked away.

Walking into her bedroom, Park Hayoon could see the mess already created for her.

Clothes could be seen on her bed and the floor, but the little girl continued to search for her dress. Park Hayoon was really mad this time around!.

"Mama where did you...." Kim Hyejin's voice slowly died down as she glanced at the room with a shocked-filled face.

It's just now she was seeing the mess she created.

Now looking back at her mother's ugly facial expression, she knew she would be scolded.
