Evan: 0.0
Evan watched the show mesmerized by the scene of fighting, looking up to the scene where Mich sent a flaming saber, and Jeff turned to lightning sparks moving insanely fast. His eyes went round. Looking around, he asked the person next to him.
"Excuse me" - Evan
Turning towards him, was a beautiful red-haired lady, with fiery red eyes that just drew people to stare at them.
"Yes?"
Evan looking at her, though calm felt she was very attractive, but he knew better than to fall for someone. Especially because of the past... Snapping out of it he asked,
"If I may ask but what did those guys do when they did that" He pointed to the cracked wall at the arena
Glancing there, The woman said, "Oh that, you must be a newcomer". She looked at me in understanding.
"When I first came to this arena after hearing it was a specialty of this city, I was also surprised by this. What you saw just now was something called a technique, which basically increases your battle power within the same ranks defeating others easily who do not have a technique. It was created to mimic the special abilities of A-ranks, granting them more fake abilities. So this was the Bi-product of people trying to invent things because some people aren't suited for making a technique or uncompleted techniques, ranks were made to categorize them, the same as human ranks from A-D, with D as the lowest. Hope that answers your question!"
"The challenger! Mich has lost!!! another win for the arena of despair!! And that's it for today ladies and gents, don't forget to signup at the entrance for next month's arena qualification battles!"
"Oh it does, thank you" Evan said, as he got up to leave since the arena event was over.
Nodding the woman got up to leave as well, awkwardly it was the same direction.
Evan walked out, passing through several signs to exit the place, as he inwardly thought, "What an exciting event, like damn I should really visit all the famous cities and see what they have to offer, but one thing's for sure I need a technique"
Exiting the place, Evan asked around where they sold techniques. Moving about he came in front of a place that said
"Libray of almia"
Walking in, he saw it looked more like a store rather than a library, with countless books all in encased glass containers in rows right next to the counter, having labels from B to D. Looking around he saw there were no guards except the librarian, so he could guess the actual guards are probably hidden spying on everyone.
Walking to the D-rank section, he found several signboards showing different weapon pictures. He looked for a katana picture, but sadly he could not find any after searching for a long time. He was not surprised because not many people really chose katana as their main weapon, after all, swords were more popular and easy to use. Disappointed he went to ask the librarian if there were any katana techniques.
"Excuse me, Do you have any katana techniques stored at all?"
"No, there aren't really any people who use katanas and make techniques as well, if they do they don't share making really anywhere lacking it." He responded
"Oh" Evan said, evidently disappointed
"But, you can get this. Wait a sec" The librarian left the counter and he soon came back with a book, placing it on top of the counter.
Glancing at it, Evan read
"Guide: How to make your own technique!"
"This... does it work?" he asked
"Well.. it's something isn't it and it's not that useless. It gives points on what you should be aiming for to see if what you made qualifies as a technique, you can use the points to give you a general outline for a technique" He smiled as he said again,
"Only for 2sc"
Evan: "..."
"Can you give me a discount?"
"No"
A flat answer as Evan took out 2sc and begrudgingly bought it. He had to buy it after all if he had his own technique it would really make his life easier. Though he didn't think he could make one at least this was a bit of a start.
Moving to an inn he found, he paid 10bc and got a room. Entering in he was about to sit down and read when...
"GRRRR" his stomach growled
Looking blankly at his stomach, he went out of his room heading out of the inn. Finding a nearby restaurant he paid 20bc and got a roasted wild boar and a drink...
Minutes later he got out of the restaurant after having his fill. He went back to his room and left his stuff around and he opened the book, wanting to read it already.
Opening the book he read,
"5 steps for a technique"
