Chapter 1

Taking in deep breaths I put my hand out infront of me for a short amount of time. a magic circle made of fire formed infront of my hand when I felt I bult up enough power I opened my eyes and released it a fairly big fireball shot out of my hand and into a straw dummy effectively making a crater where it was

I sighed softly and whipped my forehead with the back of my arm

" for such a small spell it sure takes alot out of me" I said to my self panting slightly heavy

" that's no small spell Adam " I heard a woman say

I looked behind me and smiled at Jules

" that's not full power so it's a small spell to me Jules " she sighed softly and walked over to me rubbing the top of my head messing up my hair

After being quiet for a moment she finally spoke again " there's nothing else you need to know Adam " she said in a sad tone confusing me

" what...do you mean Jules " I asked her concern dripping in my tone

" your now a man Adam and your better then me at magic and sword play " she said proudly but her face was filled with sorrow

" so what are you telling me.." she put a firm hand on my shoulder

" I'm leaving my estate to you son I'm heading back to my home land for a while to see my family now that I'm confident that your able to take care of your self " she smiled lightly and pulled me into a tight embrace almost crushing the air out of my lungs

" I think you just want to get rid of me " I said jokingly to keep my feelings at bay I was never one to truly show what was on the inside

" of course i don't your basically my child it's just I've been taking care of you for 10 years hun I'm sure my family thinks I'm dead " she laughed softly

After she told me the news she wanted to explain some things to me in preparation of her leaving

She was leaving me half of her money which was way and I mean way more then i would ever need she also told me she took the liberty to put up a protective barrier in the surrounding woods so I could keep working on my magic and not having to worry about evil entintys entering my territory

Lastly she told me I would be going to school it would help me socialize along with improving the skills I had built up over the years she also gave me a crystal ball that I could use to contact her if It was an emergency or just to talk

" and that's all you need to know Adam your officially going to be without me for a while " she said with a smile

I swear to god she really wants me gone either that she has a boyfriend I never new about

" ok Jules I hope youll be carful on your trip please don't do nothing stupid remember your retired as a hero"

I said in a 'duh' tone to her

" I don't need a 17 year old telling me what to do " she said walking off waving her hand up in the air never looking back twords me

Hours later

Laying down in bed I planned to wake up around noon so I could go to the new school that Jules enrolled me in it was a prestigious school that the rich and powerful go to

I smiled as a involuntary reflex I developed as a kid I have no clue when it started but I'm stuck with it

Turning to my side I curled up in my blanket slowly drifting off to sleep hoping for a good day tomorrow
