His Alluring Aura

It was a normal day at Nexus Automotive. The office was filled with chatter since everyone indulged in talking while their hands were in action on the computer.

"Hey, new guy! Can you print the files in this drive?" One of the employees exclaimed. A guy from behind the pile of papers popped out his head, "Eh? Me?" he asked, hoping the order wasn't directed to him.

"Is anyone else new here?" the male employee crossed his arms to which the new intern just smiled. "I'll do it," he said and got up before taking the USB from his senior.

"My name is Kian Martin...not new guy," he said to himself, "Why am I given all of their work? Just because I'm an intern? That's so unfair~" he whined as he placed the A4 paper in the machine.

Soon a guy came running inside, panting heavily.

"Sir...-pant- SIR HAS ARRIVED" He announced as chaos took over the office and everyone started to run around as if some ghost had arrived. The office soon fell pin drop silent, the only sound that could be heard was of the typing fingers.

*Ding*

The elevator door opened as a tall handsome figure walked out. His raven locks were elegantly styled, formal attire with a blindingly gorgeous face. There walked the ice beauty and CEO of Nexus Automotive, originally named Asher Howard, followed by his assistant, Logan Carter, who was a little older in age.

Footsteps echoed throughout the office where everyone turn by turn greeted him to which they only received a nod. Every eye just silently watched Asher walk into his office and the moment he went out of sight, everybody released the breath they were holding in.

"Gosh, he is so scary. Why is he here though? Didn't he have prior engagements today?" a male employee expressed his confusion as the others shrugged since they weren't aware themselves. "But he is extremely handsome" a female employee fangirled, followed by a few more squeals. "Why is everyone so scared of him?" Kian, the intern asked.

"You're new here so you wouldn't understand. Though he hasn't wronged anyone before nor has he done anything unfair to anyone but he is really cold and unapproachable. His aura is really scary. He never interacts with us nor joins the team dinner after a successful deal. One glare from him is enough to kill a person with fear" one of the male employees explained to which Kian just nodded, not really getting the hype as he looked at the cabin Asher walked into.

"What's my schedule?" I asked Logan as I took off my coat and hung it before taking my seat.

"Well, you have to review some documents and sign them. After that, you have lunch with JH. Enterprise's CEO and then you have to go through the new features of our model that are going to be upgraded soon before the launch and then,-" Secretary Logan was speaking but I couldn't help but cut him off, "There's more?" Logan cleared his throat and adjusted his glasses as he sternly continued,

"Yes. Then you have dinner with your father" he added as a frown took place over my forehead, "Dad? We literally have dinner together daily" I questioned. "That is correct. But today, he wants to have dinner with his family at a fancy restaurant" Logan replied.

A sigh escaped my mouth, "Except for the past week, we always dine together. Tell him that I can't go since I have a packed schedule" I said as he examined the papers in his hands, "But I already told him your schedule" Logan added, making me choke on air.

"You what?! Why?" I groaned, "Then add stuff to my schedule. Plus, it's raining outside" I signaled towards the window. Logan glanced at the window before speaking, "Your father knew you were going to say something like that so he has sent a message for you" Logan took out his Tablet and went through it.

"Listen carefully" He asked me to focus as I obliged.

"You!!" he suddenly yelled, startling me, "You brat! I know you are avoiding me because of that marriage matter. Okay, I won't force you to meet her but at least show your face to your handsome young father who is getting old waiting for you. As for the rain? It's just water, not acid and there is an invention named the umbrella. I won't hear any excuses! Bring your butt here right on time. If you won't, I'll fix your marriage with my friend's granddaughter! Understood? You ungrateful rascal" he completed.

"...That ungrateful rascal was added by you, right?" I asked Logan with a jaded expression, done with him. "Ahem...No, Not at all, Sir," Logan said and stood with a straight posture, fixing his suit jacket.

I blinked blankly at him before letting out a sigh, "Okay, I'll go. Bring me the files you were talking about" I said as Logan nodded and brought a pile of files and dropped it on my table. And upon witnessing those files a sigh of frustration left my mouth.

*Knock Knock*

"Come in," I said as I was reviewing the last of the reports Logan brought. The door opened revealing a guy with a file in his hand. I glanced at him for a second before continuing to do my work.

"Um, Sir?" the guy said to which I looked at him and patiently waited for him to continue.

"S-Sir, I needed your s-signature...on these papers. If you mind?" he hesitantly said. I glanced at the file in his hands before reverting my eye back to him. Why is he stuttering though?

"What type of papers?" I narrowed my eyes, not thinking much of it. Though the guy in front of me seemed to stop functioning for some reason or maybe it is just me overthinking?

"I-It's,-Ahem- It's f-for the diesel supply for the motors," he said, again stuttering. Does he have a stutter issue? Poor him. I gestured to him to bring the file to me as he did. I signed the file and handed it back to him before giving him a reassuring nod. The guy's breath hitched as he nodded and quickly left the cabin, confusing me.

Soon another knock on the door was heard and there was standing Secretary Logan. He entered the office and asked, "What did you do?"

I looked at him with confusion written all over my face, "What did I do?" I asked. Logan pointed towards the door as spoke, "The guy who came out of your office earlier looked like he was about to cry," he looked at me with a judgmental gaze.

I was taken aback, "What? but I didn't do anything. I didn't even say anything like, literally" I said in my defense. Logan looked at me with squinted eyes before speaking, "Well, anyway. It's time for dinner. You are now officially thirty-eight minutes and fifty seconds late." My eyes widened.

"What?! Why didn't you remind me?" I exclaimed as I stood up with a jolt and felt a killer cramp in my right leg, making me stumble. Though Logan didn't seem to faze even a little bit.

"I did remind you fifteen minutes earlier of the planned time and you said that you'll keep it in mind but you forgot which I knew was bound to happen so, Haaa" he took in a breath as he continued his rap, "I thought I should give you a valuable life lesson so in the future you avoid these careless acts with the fear of getting insulted by your father," Logan completed in two breaths whereas I was still recovering from my leg cramp.

"These valuable lessons of yours will definitely kill me one day. Now, Hurry up!" I exclaimed and quickly picked up my stuff and coat before running out of the office, followed by a satisfied Logan Carter.

"Drive faster, We are now a whole forty-five minutes late," I was panicking and I was not even making an effort to hide the fact that I was scared for my life as I again looked at my watch.

"Relax, Mr. Howard. We are almost the- Ouh" Logan exclaimed as he suddenly pressed the brakes, making me jolt forward due to the sudden impact.

"What happened?" I asked, already frustrated enough. Logan seemed panicky, "Ah! Shit!" he quickly unbuckled his seatbelt and got off the car, leaving me behind without giving an explanation. I looked outside the window to find Logan, only to find him talking to a girl, who was drenched.

"What happened? Why is that girl soaked? Did he do it?! Well...that's an issue. Should I go help him? He seems tense. But I'm gonna get my butt kicked soon because of his life lesson, he deserves a little screw tightening" I said to myself but after seeing Logan struggling I couldn't help but let out a sigh,

"Let's forget it" and with that, I opened the car door and got off the car before heading towards the crime scene.
