Battle in the Forest Part 3

The Warden roared before it charged Ryder, determined to rip the human apart. Ryder waited for it before he threw a punch as the Warden went to punch him. Their fists collided creating a gust of wind. Ryder noticed that the Warden's hand cracked a little. He grins, he can hurt it now. His green aura flared up as Ryder cocked another fist back and quickly punched the Grimm in the face. Unlike before, this time it is flung back a few feet. The Warden lands on its feet and glared at Ryder. The boy simply assumed a battle stance before using wind dust to propel himself forward and right towards the Warden. Ryder punched the Warden again and it was launched towards a tree, breaking the tree and causing it to fall over. Ryder was amazed by this feat of strength, but he liked it. His Semblance was awesome! The Warden gets back up and snarls in Ryder's direction. Ryder, with a smile, gets ready for the battle to continue. He's never been so brave in his life before. The Warden roars loudly into the sky before it then grabs the tree it had broken. It lifted the log and threw it at Ryder. Ryder rolled to the side and dodged it, but the Warden charged him after it threw the tree. Ryder didn't react in time and was punched in the face by the Grimm. 

Ryder was sent back a few feet but managed to regain his footing before he chambered fire dust into his left gauntlet. He then punches forward and launches a fire ball at the Warden. The Warden swats it aside as it walks towards Ryder. The boy then chambers lightning dust and charged the Warden. The Lightning slightly mixes with his green aura. He throws a punch at the Warden and hits the beast in the arm as it brings its arm up to block the attack. Ryder then launched another punch, and it was once again blocked, but his attacks cracked the Warden's bone like armor. He then sends a barrage of quick punches that are amplified by his semblance making them almost as fast as lightning. Even Ryder is shocked by his speed. But every hit is blocked by the Warden's arms but the armor on the arms cracks more and more. The Warden can't take much more of this and it knows this. After the barrage of punches ended, Ryder arced his right heel around to kick the Warden but the Warden catches his foot and hurls him over its shoulder. Ryder yelps as he is lifted off the ground and thrown over the Warden's shoulder. He hits the ground and rolls a few feet before using his rolling momentum to get back onto his feet. 

Ryder then wants to try something. He chambers lightning dust into his gauntlets and his hands crackle with lightning. He cups his hands off to his left side as he crouches down a little. He manages to form an orb of Lightning in between his hands. The Warden just stood there. It then snarled and charged him. Ryder then pushed for orb of lightning forward and fired a beam of Lightning outwards at the Warden. The Grimm Warden is hit head on and is pushed back by the beam but also electrocuted by the Lightning beam. The Warden is pushed back into a boulder and when he makes contact, an explosion erupts from the Lightning hitting the boulder. Ryder stopped his attack and was happy that it worked. As the smoke from the explosion dissipates, Ryder saw that the Warden was still alive. 

"Man, you're one stubborn bastard." Ryder comments. 

The Warden's armor was cracked all over but surprisingly it was still alive. The Warden wheezes as it pants from the intense pain it felt. Its wings drooped down. Its single eye looked right at Ryder. It was on its knees. The Warden then gets off its knees and onto its feet. Now standing up, the Warden growls lowly as it glared at Ryder. Ryder takes a fighting stance. Before the Warden charges, it notices something to its right and turns to face it. A tree is flung at it but the Warden simply slashed its claws downward and shattered the tree into two pieces. Ryder looked towards the source of where the tree was thrown from and saw a man about his age standing there. 

This man wore a purple and black trench coat that had a turtleneck and long coat tails. He wore black tactical fingerless gloves and black combat pants with combat boots. The man had black hair with purple eyes, and he had a rather cocky look in his eyes. 

"Well, well. What do I have here, some new kind of Grimm." the man said. 

"Who are you?" Ryder asks. 

"Not important right now." The man asked, a bit rudely. 

Ryder sighed. The Warden roared at this new man and rushed him. The man grinned as his eyes widened with an almost crazy look in them. The man brought up his right hand that was coated in a violet-colored energy. He brought his hand in front of him and pieces of the boulder the Warden smashed into float up and towards him. Once they reach him, the man throws his hand forward and launches the rocks at the Warden. The Warden brought it's arms up and blocked the incoming rocks before roaring loudly and loud enough to send a sonic wave towards the man. This sonic wave forced the rocks away and forced the man to cover his ears from the loud noise before being flung back. However, he uses his Semblance and coats his body in that violet energy which slows him down and he floats above the ground. Smirking, he straightens himself up and faces the Warden. 

"Woah." Ryder comments. 

Ryder looked at his green aura and saw it flicker, he was losing control of it and had to end this battle quickly. So, he charged the Warden. The Warden turned to him but was hit by a barrage of punches from Ryder who used his powers immense speed and strength. The man watched on as he slowly figured out what that green aura was. Some kind of enhancement Semblance. 

"How brutish." the man said. 

The Warden brought its fists up and slammed them down onto Ryder who was slammed into the ground. The warden snarls before it prepared its claws. As it swiped down, the violet energy coated the warden's hand, stopping it. The Warden tried to move its hand before it looked at the man. Seeing his chance, Ryder spins around on the ground and heel kicks the Warden in the face making it stumble back. Ryder gets onto his feet and sends a strong uppercut into the jaw of the Warden who was flung back a good distance. As it crashed into the ground, Ryder prepared himself for a follow up attack. 

"Don't waste your energy." the man said as he walked over. 

"Why?" Ryder asks. 

"isn't it obvious? It's taking our attacks head on without care, while you clearly cracked its armor. It's protecting it's back." the man explains. 

"The back is its weakness." Ryder said, looking at the Warden as it lay on the ground. 

"Correct." 

"So, what's your name?" Ryder asks, again. 

The man sighed. 

"If you must know, I'm Kairos Hawthorne." Kairos introduces. 

The two are taken away from their talk as the Warden gets back up but flames emit from its mouth. Their eyes widen as they both realized something, this thing can breathe fire. The Warden then roared and fired a beam of flames from its mouth. Kairos formed a violet barrier around him and Ryder just in time as the flames hit the barrier. The flames danced around the barrier, but the Warden kept firing the flames. 

"This Grimm is just full of surprises." Kairos comments. 

"You can say that again. It didn't do this when i first fought the damn thing. Then again it suddenly sprouted wings mid battle." Ryder adds. 

"That so?" Kairos asks. 

Ryder nods. 

"Well then it seems we need to devise a plan to eliminate this creature. As much as teamwork is dull to me, it is the most logical thing to do." Kairos said, still holding a cold look in his eyes. 

Ryder thinks he must be full of himself. But from what power he'd seen, he thinks it's almost justified. 

"I'll distract it and I've you an opening. Once you have it, take it." Ryder said, his green aura flickering. 

"It seems your Semblance is about to wear out." Kairos comments. 

"This is actually the first time I'm using it, i just unlocked it." Ryder said. "Never mind that, I'll buy you time!" 

Kairos moves his hand and opens the back of the barrier letting Ryder run out. Ryder then runs around the barrier and catches the Warden's attention. The Warden stops breathing fire and turns to Ryder who is running towards him from the left. Propelling himself with a gust of wind from his boots, Ryder cocked a fist back as he chambered lightning dust into both gauntlets. Ryder sends his fist forward and punches the Warden's arm as the beast brought its arm up just in time. The cracks grew under the pressure of Ryder's fist. Ryder then hit it with three more punches and managed to actually break the armor on it's forearm. He then sends an uppercut into it's jaw and flings it upward. Ryder grabs its feet and slams it onto the ground before spinning around and heel kicking it in the face. Kairos watched on and dropped his barrier. He then looked at a fallen tree and aimed his hand at it. Ryder flips over the Warden as it stands up forcing it to turn and face him. It's back was now exposed. 

"Kairos now!" Ryder shouts. 

Kairos's hand was covered in violet energy as he threw his hand forward, launching the tree he had grabbed with his Semblance at the Warden. Ryder leaped back as the tree then hit the Warden in the back. Ryder propelled himself forward with wind and timed his kick right. He kicked the beast in the jaw and with the force of the flying tree and his kick, the beast is ripped in half. Ryder lands and does a commando roll as the Warden's body hits the ground. The Warden gurgling before it turns into black mist and disintegrates. Ryder was panting before his Semblance turned off. The green aura shattering and dispersing, sending out a weak gust of wind. Kairos merely looked on with a grin. He knew they would kill that beast, it's just a Grimm after all. 

[Beacon Cliffside] 

Ozpin and Glynda were watching this battle from their scrolls. Glynda was thankful that this new beast was slain while Ozpin was interested. Not in the death of the creature, but of the abilities Ryder and Kairos displayed. A small smile came to his face as he realized something. They could be a Trump Card.
