A Free for All

I walked down the stairs of the dorm building, I couldn't tell at the time, but my energy was radiating off me. I reach the front doors and saw several teachers snap their heads toward me. Their faces in total shock instinctively took a step back. Yi Meng approached and whispered in my ear.

"When did you reach the golden core realm? You must be at your peak at that. You're truly a monster Jason." She said with seriousness.

I looked at her and nodded, understanding what she expected.

"You haven't seen anything yet sister Yi, better hold on because the real show is about to start. I'm going to the arena." I said while walking away.

Her face told me that I was right, the smug little smile that told me it was time to stir up some trouble. I walked towards the arena. I was planning something special just for the school. Several people had been looking down at me. It was time to change who was looking down. I entered the arena to see several people sparring with each other. Several students were just hanging out in the stands chatting, some watching those sparring. Others working on homework for classes. Some turned their heads toward me, and those that did keep them on me as I walked to the dirt floor. Several of those sparring is stopped. Those involved stared at me with hatred.

"You guys seem to have an issue with me, how about we do something about that yea? Who here thinks they can take me? no life and death however let's put up some bets to make things interesting yeah?" I said as YI Meng and the other instructors sat in the stands to watch what was about to happen.

people began whispering and one even brought out some strange gold-looking stones. Bets were made and I placed one stamina pill in the betting pool. One young man dressed in a blue robe placed his hand in his palm and bowed towards the instructors, then faced me. His eyes narrowed.

"You have been too cocky since you took down Shen. Face me let's see if it was a fluke." He growled preparing to fight.

"I'm your huckleberry," I said outstretching my arms.

The boy looked confused for a second, He seemingly had an internal argument and then attacked me. His movements to me were slow and clunky. I quickly sidestepped without taking a swing. He managed to keep his footing and pressed his attack. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't seem to get a strike in. His anger became more and more apparent with each failed strike. I sighed and allowed a single strike to land. His scream shocked those around us. His fist had been shattered.

"Do you understand yet? Do any of you understand? No then allow me to demonstrate. Are there any instructors up there efficient at healing? " I asked turning to the instructors.

The moment my back was turned the boy tried to kick me, wielding the same result as before, his ankle shattered, and he howled again in agony. He rolled on the ground; his bad arm curled to his chest while his good hand was holding his leg. he looked goofy I thought to myself. I turned back to the instructors to see a thin willowy female instructor climb into the arena. I nodded as I turned back to the crying trash on the ground. I picked him up with little effort. his good hand gripped my arm as my fingers dug into his throat. I turned to the ones running the bets.

"What do I get if I win?" I asked them while the boy continued his struggle.

They showed a pile of loot. Seems only a few had bet on me. I smiled, someone's about to learn something about making bets. I chuckled to myself and looked at the boy in his now bloodshot eyes.

"I would be sorry for what's about to happen to you but honestly I find it funny. Maybe leave those who are stronger than you, alone." I said as I slammed the boy into the dirt floor of the arena.

Dust exploded into the air and swirled around everyone. As it cleared it revealed a crater and a broken student. I stood over him looking down on him as he had me. I walked over to the table where the bets had taken place and collected my loot.

"I will come here every day in the morning. If you think you can win and you can bet, then I will face you with no questions. I don't care if you're stronger than me. I will fight." I said walking away.

I heard several people rush to save the boy dumb enough to face me. I walked to the next class; I didn't know what to expect with this one. The teacher, Vicky, was strange. an air of mystery surrounded her. She was attractive, something I noticed about the people of cultivation. Good looks seemed to be commonplace and ugly was rare, however ugly personalities were a completely different story. I sighed; my life had changed so drastically that it was hard to keep up. I was feeling the wear and tear of everyday life. I laughed, I never thought that anything in this life would seem so alien to me. I went from being abused and broken to rising from the flames. I smiled, if I could survive Scott then cultivation would be easy to conquer.

"Look at you, pissing people off yet again." Alicia came out of nowhere and jumped onto my back.

"Why must you follow me?" I asked struggling to get her off me.

"Don't be mean, a pretty girl's attention isn't cheap!" She giggled.

"That makes you sound bad you know that right?" I asked.

A sharp smack on the back of my head showed me that I was wrong.

"What class do you have next smart ass?" She angrily asked.

"Whatever Vicky teaches," I replied.

She stopped dead in her tracks.

"You should be careful of her." She said quietly before running away.

I looked at her running away with a puzzled face. I sighed and continued walking.
