Lynn spent more than two hours in the headmaster's office.
After coming out, he headed straight to the academy's arena.
"Pass the ball!"
"No using of abilities!"
"You're cheating!"
A group of junior boys were playing basketball.
In the open space nearby, several middle and senior students were discussing superpowers.
On benches by the forest, some students were reading quietly, while others were engaged in romantic activities.
From Lynn's perspective, it was a peaceful scene.
Xavier's Academy truly was a paradise for mutants. Unfortunately, these peaceful days were coming to an end.
"There are too few mutants with a sense of crisis..." Lynn sighed softly.
He shifted his gaze to two figures not far away, sitting quietly on a chair, absorbed in reading: "Kitty, Jubilee, it's time to pack up."
Both figures raised their heads almost simultaneously, revealing their unique and beautiful faces.
They were Lynn's only two friends in the academy.
One of them was Kitty Pryde, also known as ShadowCat, with the ability of phasing through objects.
The other was a lesser-known female mutant named Jubilation Lee, or Jubilee. Her ability involved creating energy blasts of various colors, which she humorously referred to as "fireworks."
Due to their shared Chinese heritage, Lynn quickly formed a bond with them after joining the academy.
Jubilee's parents, both Ph.D.s, were unfortunate victims of an accident. This tragedy instilled in her a strong belief that knowledge could change one's destiny. Consequently, she was more diligent in her studies than her peers.
Under Lynn's influence, she became even more focused on her education, with Lynn using memory magic to enhance her learning efficiency.
The current Jubilee was completely different from the movie depiction. She not only controlled her abilities far better than other students but also displayed considerable skill in mechanical engineering and artificial intelligence.
As for Kitty Pryde, Shadowcat...
She was a genius in computers, fighting, and seveal languages (in the comics), and with Lynn's magical aid, her rate of growth was beyond imagination.
Their contributions had played a significant role in the development of "Oasis."
"Lynn?"
Upon hearing Lynn's voice, the second girl immediately put down her book and rushed over.
Kitty's face was filled with excitement: "Are we leaving the academy?"
Jubilee asked curiously, "How much did Professor Charles invest?"
"Not much, just A Hundred Million Dollars"
Lynn smiled, "He's cautious, being an old man and all. He wants to see our results first."
"Only a Hundred Million?!"
Both Kitty and Jubilee were shocked, as they had never dreamed of having so much money. How many people in the world have access to a hundred million as startup capital?
Professor Charles was indeed daring.
"Don't look so surprised, or people might start imagining things," Lynn joked.
He hadn't paid much attention to it before, but now that the investment was confirmed, and he was in a good mood, he suddenly realized that his two friends had grown up without him realizing it.
Although neither of them could be described as peerless beauties, they possessed graceful figures with thin waists and shapely buttocks. Their chests had begun to take shape.
Shaking his head to dismiss such thoughts, Lynn's expression changed: "Hurry up and pack your things. The recruitment is over, and we are leaving."
"Recruitment?"
The two girls looked at each other, and their faces turned slightly flushed: "Apart from us, are you planning to recruit from the college? Did Professor Charles agree?"
Lynn nodded.
"In such a huge college, with hundreds of students, how many talented individuals can we find?"
Contrary to the portrayal in the movies, there were quite a few students in Xavier's Academy. Setting aside the juniors, there were about thirty mutants who had already grown up or were close to doing so.
This was considered normal.
Professor X had been running the Academy for decades, helping mutants from all over the world. Having only a few students, as shown in the movies, would have been a failure.
Kitty was about to speak when Professor X's voice suddenly rang in their ears.
"All students over the age of 18, please gather at the auditorium within five minutes. Mr. Lynn will conduct selections and recruitment here."
Throughout the academy, students were momentarily stunned upon hearing the voice, but then they reacted.
Why did Professor Charles sound... polite? Was this how he addressed students?
"Wow, it looks like the library trio has caught the headmaster's attention?"
Several adult mutants who were discussing on the other side approached, and one of them casually looked at Lynn and said, "Mr. Lynn... What did you do to the principal? Did you memorize all the books in his office in a day?"
The crowd burst into laughter.
"Idiot!"
"Does he think he's funny?"
Kitty and Jubilee's expressions darkened upon hearing the voice.
Lynn didn't need to look to know that it was John also known as Pyro, he is the kind of bully frequently found on American campuses. He was tall, capable, and quite full of himself.
He was an alpha-level mutant with the ability to manipulate flames, but not to create them.
Mutants were classified into six categories: Omega (the strongest), Alpha (strong and controllable), Beta (strong but uncontrollable), Gamma (strong but with major flaws), Delta (the most common and average), and Epsilon (not yet strong but with potential).
This classification roughly corresponded to their potential. But we all know, potential and strength are not the same thing.
For instance, Iceman, a genuine Omega-level mutant, had not developed his abilities as well as the Alpha-level Pyro, despite spending many years in the academy.
In terms of combat power, the current Iceman was only level two.
But John the Pyro had already reached lev1el three.
Wolverine (before transformation) and Storm were only level three.
Professor X was only level four.
Thus, it was not surprising that "Pyro" John, with his outstanding talent and developed abilities, felt good about himself.
In Lynn's eyes, he wasn't even worth a second thought. This naive guy who advocated brute force and lacked intelligence would die faster than anyone else once he left Professor X's protection.
"John, I don't have time for your antics," Lynn said unceremoniously, keeping his eyes on the other mutants who were now rushing over.
John's expression suddenly changed.
