A couple of days later

"It's so pretty outside," Amber said walking around the hospital. 'I love Spring' Amber thought while looking outside to see a thunderstorm.

"Especially the lightning outside trying to light the dark sky succeeding for a moment then the light disappears sending the sky in darkness again once again, but it always fails in the end leaving only darkness engulfing the sky"

Amber muttered under her breath her purple eyes shining and a smile on her face for the first time since Zackary's death.

'I wonder if my brother is up there looking down on us. If you are Zachary im sorry but I will not rest tell I hunt down that person.

I promise to avenge your death, I love you and miss you. I promise to try and live my life since that's what you wanted.'

Amber ended her thoughts when she heard shoes clacking in the distance thinking it's probably a doctor.

"Someone looks happy" Someone said, whispering lowly in Amber's ear making her shiver a little. Amber looked behind herself and saw amusement in the guys eyes.

"Hello, Mr. Handsome. How-"

"It's Alexander, Now tell me yours." He said, interrupting her, looking a little impatient.

'I have waited too long and I'm afraid I won't know if I don't get it today' Thought Alexander.

"It's Amber," I said, chuckling thinking his impatience is too adorable. 'Even though he can be cold he is really cute, but I have a question of my own' Thought Amber.

"Mr. Alexand-"

"Just Alexander is fine" He said interrupting me again

"Mr. A-"

"Alexander, we are friends, right" He said more persistently making me cough trying to not laugh

"Yes we are. Alexander, I have a question for you?"

"Hm, What is it?" He asked curiously

"Remember that day I found you? He nodded so I continued "Why didn't you fight back, you're strong enough?"

After I said that he stiffened but then I saw something in his eyes knowing that he would tell me. So I hugged him and said in a soothing voice.

"It's fine I won't judge you. Don't worry you can trust me I promise." I tried to comfort him letting him know that I will be on his side.

"I will on one condition" I looked at him curiously asking him

"What condition?"

"Give me your number" I gave it to him since we're friends it wasn't that big of a deal.

But I thought at the same time with a pout 'Someone's very impatient and straight forward today, I guess I can't have any fun playing with him.'

"There, now answer my question" He nodded, chuckling at my impatience and started to say in a serious tone making me scared a little since he never is serious.

"My full name is Alexander Heart Drake" As soon as I heard his last name I gasped

"Y-You're young master Drake!" He smiled bitterly saying in a dark tone

"Yes and No. I am from that family but I am the middle child, the one that's useless…" He paused taking a shaky breath then continued

"The Unwanted child that everyone Detests to the core" I didn't talk letting him continue feeling sad that he had no love but instead is despised.

"I look just like the eldest young master of the Drake family. And whenever he offends somebody huge, I am put in his place to be punished.

They tell me not to fight back or they will… kill everyone I come into contact with, And I can't be responsible for all the lives lost."

'They would hurt you. That would destroy me, Amber I can't lose the one person that makes me feel warm'

Alexander thought keeping the last part hidden. When Alexander looked down he saw tears streaming down Amber's face.

'Why is she crying? Is she okay? She is at the hospital maybe she is hurt she is in a hospital gown.'

Alexander's thoughts' were going worried wondering why the girls purples eyes kept shedding tears.

His eyes widened as he started to panic more then suddenly Amber hugged him and patted his head like she was consoling him when she was the one that was crying.

"I-I'm so s-s-sorry" Amber said through sobs making her words stutter.

'He has been unwanted his whole life. He must have lived in darkness forever. I was more broken then he was when I lived in it for a few years.

He is strong but no one deserves this pain. Everyone deserves to be loved.' Amber thought not able to stop the tears no matter how hard she tried.

"For What?" Alexander asked, worry evident in his voice. Amber pulled away looking into his eyes and Alexander felt his heartache seeing Amber's tear-stained face then she said softly

"Sorry, you don't deserve that you must have been hurt a lot. If I came earlier you wouldn't have gotten hurt.

I promise to protect you." She looked in his eyes and Alexander saw her sincerity. Alexander gave a rare genuine smile and patted Amber's head

'She really is something. She needs to be protected more than me, silly fragile little girl' Alexander thought, chuckling at her cute declaration of protecting him.

But Alexander knew she wouldn't go back on her words as he saw the sincerity in the gaze of her purple eyes.

'Why does she care so much anyway? And why when she looked at me did her eyes shine as if she knows a little bit of the darkness I felt?

What secrets are you hiding Amber?' Thought Alexander as his black obsidian eyes looked down at Amber with a soft gaze yet there was a prying curiosity in them that he couldn't hid.

Amber saw it but she pretended not to since no one would believer her anyway. Amber turned around and a bitter smile played on her lips.

Amber was true to her words she put Alexander in the guest house attached to the main house in the Jewel Estate.

She even made him attend high school since he was only a year older than her. She did that in just a matter of a few hours.
