Chapter 36: The Perplexing Nature Of Missing Months

The Seaside Tavern, Room 6, New Orleans, Louisiana, New World....(1762)

Alain Remington nearly fell out of the bed when he awoke fully dressed right down to his coat that his mother had given him before he set sail on the voyage to the new world. He couldn't figure out for the life of him why he'd been so groggy nor why his head had been pounding so much. His body felt heavier than he'd ever known it to have been and for some reason, he felt a terrible round of aching in his cock which was aroused as per the usual upon awakening. He sighed watching the thing tent his trousers as he felt the sudden urge to urinate and take the pressure off his aching bladder and made his way, although wobbly in his steps toward the privy. He unbuttoned his trousers and stood over the makeshift bucket aiming just enough to keep from hitting the back wall of this strange establishment. He was surrounded by wood, wooden floors, wooden furniture, and the like.

It was a bit dated for his taste, but not a bad place to wake up as opposed to going to sleep in a ditch or two and having no recollection of how he arrived, to begin with. He groaned at the sensitive nature of his cock as he continued to empty the contents of his bladder unsure what he'd been up to have been so sore as he could hardly recall much of anything aside from being lost. He oddly remembered his father's voice and the distinctive feeling that the old man was looking for him.

Alain gingerly tucked his sizeable yet still quite sore cock back into his trousers and turned his attention toward the door just as a knock came drawing him toward it. He crossed the room in swift steps and pulled open the heavy wood confused as to who the person on the other end was and then not surprised. His father stood seemingly drowsy as he too had been on wobbly legs and entered the room.

"I've been looking all over for you," he said seemingly annoyed, but grateful to have found him. "Where have you been?"

"I recall getting lost, admitted Alain unsure of what happened to him. "Took a wrong turn I believe."

"You've been missing for nearly two months," replied Alfred. "I was frantic...we couldn't even set sail till we found you."

Alain appeared to have been caught off guard by this news.

"Two months?" he asked unsure where all the time had gone.

"We set sail in an hour," said Alfred taking the time to pull his boy into an embrace. "Thank Goodness you had the bloody foresight to rent out a room so we could find you."

Alain was even more confused by this news. He had greatly assumed that his father had rented it.

"I don't recall renting it." said the confused lad. "Father, I can't seem to recall very much at all of the past few months or so, aside from our arrival I'm afraid I can't even recall the voyage to get here."

Alfred thought it strange that he had felt the same at one point but shook it off as he focused on the fact that they were reunited once more. His efforts with his project were coming along nicely and he had enough confidence to allow the men to finish it in his absence as he had wished to return to England and his wife didn't hesitate to remind him of how much she missed her youngest son.

"Let's get back to it," said Alfred with a smile as he wrapped an arm around Alain's shoulder. "I've got to oversee some plans and then we've got a long trip to prepare for and I am sure you are feeling homesick."

Alain nodded in agreement despite the odd occurrence he had not thought the place to be bad at all but he had missed the familiar faces he'd not seen in quite some time. Even the thought of hearing one of Casimir's vulgar tales had been a pleasant thing to him. More importantly, he had missed his love, Noreen McCray whom he had hoped had not forgotten him in all the time he'd been away.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Street Corner, Seedy Alleyway, Louisiana, New World....(1762)

Neither Sir Alfred nor Alain Remington had been privy to the watchful blue eyes that saw their exit from the seaside tavern as Esme stood amid the shadows of the seedy alley witnessing the reunion of father and son. She smiled a sad little smile as she stroked her belly knowing all too well that she'd been watching the father of her unborn child and its grandfather leave the city possibly for good as they hailed a carriage and took off along the cobblestone road. Her sisters were furious that she'd let Alain escape, as they had become accustomed to laying with him whenever they felt the need. She had not cared. Her conscience for the most part had been cleared and he was once more free to live the life they had initially stolen from him.

There was a bittersweet sadness that filled her as she watched the handsome young man she'd fallen in love with disappear down the road once he'd been out of her direct eyeline and hot tears once more trailed down her supple cheeks as she made the slow walk back toward her home where she had to endure the fury of her sisters who had also been in the process of their pregnancies.

She cared not for their wailing as they had not truly loved Alain as she had. He was simply a means to an end for them and a pleasurable toy at best in their eyes. Esme was young and possibly naïvee, but she knew very well that they had no right to keep the poor lad captive not when he had people who had loved him searching for him and a life to head back to.

As she continued her walk, she found herself focusing on her future and that of her unborn child. Alain might not have been there to love her but this baby, whom he had gifted to her during his brief stay at her manor would be someone who could love her.

And she would love her child enough for both of them.

Realizing that she had done right by Alain in the end at least, Esme did her best to put him out of her mind, but she knew all too well that he would always remain a part of her young heart. She was, after all, expecting his child and so were her sisters who'd been impregnated via him as well.
