Amalgam Universe Beast Boy

This book will be LOOSELY based on Amalgam Comics. An old combination of DC and Marvel with a few more things added for my enjoyment. A 36 year old Garfield Logan is a military veteran working a Museum security job. A robbery goes wrong and our story begins. He finds himself in a different body and wouldn’t you know it he doesn't just have to worry about a big purple nut chinned simp that wants to kill 50% of all living things to impress his crush, Death (Balance my A&&). But he also has to worry about an Anti Lifer whose look really can kill. Seriously Darkseid, take up a hobby, learn to paint with more than the blood of the innocent. Set up an adoption agency for abused space animals and retired Paradeamon’s. Something, just leave Earth alone. This is my first time writing and I am doing it for my enjoyment. Will look forward to comments and constructive criticism but complaints will have a better chance of getting to me of you scream them out your window and I happen to be walking by at that time. My greatest hope is that this story will inspire someone else to write a story I will enjoy. Going to shoot for daily release but I have to work to do the things I enjoy so we will see. I don’t own the Pic’s or the Original Characters concepts. Also I accidently placed this in Novel instead of FanFic so moved it. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Hello There

"J'onn is back and in his quarters. Do you want me to let him know you are coming?"

Logan started walking towards the living quarter entrance and said, "No thanks, catch you later Canary. I truly hope it goes well with M'gann."

Walking through the gray corridors, Logan thinks to himself about how bare and stark everything looks. But considering that it's a blind man bankrolling the base you can't really expect bright decor. Just as soon as he thought that he came across a large window with a great view of the Earth. He paused to look for just a few minutes and was again reminded of how small just one person was in comparison. Yet the actions of just one person could destroy everything. It's so strong and so fragile all at the same time. (I guess it's a perspective thing, as a child a 2x4 chunk of wood is unbreakable, but as you grow all it takes is a little effort to break it.) He then looked out past the planet and thought about all the threats out there that could break the earth like a 2x4. Darkseid, Thanos, and all the established civilizations out there that would treat the Earth like an all-you-can-eat buffet.

We should be encouraging those with abilities, not trying to limit and control them. So many in power just don't see how fragile that little bit of power is. He again focused on the Earth and wondered if the Kroloteans had arrived yet. He knew that The Reach had ships in the sea at one point, but he didn't know when they got there. (Maybe I should keep an ear out for Ted Kord, I think that's where Jaime Reyes got the Blue Beetle armor.)

As he was thinking he made his way to J'onn's door and rang for entry. "Come in Logan." That's a weird voice he thought to himself.

Logan walked in as the door slid open. Before his mind could register anything completely, he heard "Hello There!" Logan just sighed and shook his head as he was looking at a man with short brown hair parted on the left temple, with a brown full beard and mustache cropped short, a prominent mole was just left of being centered on his forehead. Wearing the traditional brown robes over a tan shirt sat Obi-Wan Kenobi Jedi Master.

I looked at the television and saw it paused at the scene where Kenobi was confronting a pregnant Amidala. Logan chuckled "How was your trip, my Master?" Obi Won looked at me "It was uneventful and as fruitful as a tree in winter my young Padawan." Unable to hold it in any longer Logan burst into laughter. "What is it with you taking the shapes of people when you watch the shows? Is there a reason you pick a certain character, or do you change as you watch?"

J'onn returned to his normal shape, "It helps to immerse myself into the story and I usually take the shape of the person who resonates with me the most. What brings you here today?" Logan walked to a chair and sat down. "I have started trying different things with the energy I get from The Red when it changes my form, and I was hoping to get some direction from you. My latest experiment was to pull on The Red with no form in my head to change into and after some trial and error I finally got a manageable bit but once I had it, I wasn't sure it would be safe to move it to a vital organ in my body. I decided to let it disperse in my blood and it did give me a very minor boost, but I thought I would seek advice before going any farther."

J'onn pondered for a moment, "You can move this energy anywhere in your body, correct?" Logan nodded in affirmative. "Have you thought about infusing your bones with this energy? More specifically your bone marrow? If it goes wrong, then you need merely to change into something without that specific bone and back to remove the issue."

Logan thought about this, and it was a great idea with an easy fix, just like J'onn said. "OK, I will try it now. See if you can tell any difference in my body when I do it." Logan pulled in just a little bit of The Red, about a grape-sized ball, and then looked at J'onn. "I can see a bright source of energy but even with my Martian vision I can't make out more than that." Taking a deep breath, "I will now see if I can move it to my right arm, specifically the Ulna bone."

Logan then started to mentally direct the energy where he wanted it and braced for some pain. He planned to push it into the middle of the Ulna and see if it merged with his Marrow. Logan had to do a marrow test at one point in his military career and he remembered just how painful it was. The throb that started out dull and then ended in your nerves on fire. It would take something very precious to make him go through that pain again, or that's what he thought. This pain was the opposite, it was a fire at the end of his nerves and the dull thump of his heartbeat was like a blast of wind to the fire on his nerve endings the flair was excruciating. Logan felt his mouth open, and he screamed out in pain.

{Logan. LOGAN, LOGAN. If you can hear me, you need to pull in more of The Red. Focus on my voice and pull in until I tell you to stop. You don't have enough to fill the Marrow in your Ulna, if you stop now, it will all be in vain.} J'onn's voice rumbled in Logan's mind and helped him set the pain aside for a moment. He opened just the tiniest hole to The Red and held it open, to his surprise it flowed directly to the hole he drilled in his Ulna with his first batch of The Red energy. {Ok, shut it off. That appears to be sufficient.}

Logan shut himself off from The Red and collapsed back into the chair he was sitting on, panting like he had just run a marathon... Over broken glass and nails. "That... Was not... Pleasant!!!" J'onn spoke out loud, "No it did not appear so. You should rest and then we can test if this experiment was worth the pain, you went through. I am quite curious if this energy in your arm will shift as you do or if you will lose it because of the molecular change we go through when shifting."

Logan rubbed his right arm as it throbbed, "Do you want to finish your movie? Or you could tell me about your latest mission."

"My mission was nothing too secret. Some years ago, the League fell under the control of an adversary known as Ra's Vand'al Savage. While under his control the core group of heroes myself included, lost 16 hours in which we have no idea what we did. We only know that we weren't on Earth for that long. I was looking for clues to that lost time. As I stated earlier, my search was in vain." J'onn turned back into Obi-Wan Kenobi, "Let us resume the movie, it is most thrilling." Martians and their TV addiction.

As the movie played, Logan was thinking about the upcoming Reach invasion and what part he could play in it. Some may think that telling the League about it and preparing them early would be the way to go but he just didn't think that way. Despite the dangers, there was a lot of character growth on the hero's side throughout the saga. Along with the addition of many new heroes, most importantly there was the civilian awareness about other civilizations in the universe and how much we as a planet needed to grow just to ensure our survival and freedom.

While I may not agree with the whole 'Survival of the Fittest' theory that Vandal Savage (Or as he is known in this verse Ra's Van'dal Savage) pushed. As a representative of animal life, I have to say that only the strong live long enough to make a dent in The Red. Though in my mind, if you can make the week strong then you are truly something worth celebrating.

As the credits rolled J'onn returned to his normal form. "Fascinating movie, there were so many levels of failure on the part of the Jedi that it is no wonder they fell victim to the Sith."

"J'onn, there is something I want to talk to you about, something that must stay between the two of us. Would you enter my mind to discuss it?" J'onn stood up. "Let us go to the Meditation room, it is time for me to test you anyway. I hope you have not slacked off on your training."

Logan and J'onn walked into the meditation chamber J'onn had set up and took their seat opposite of each other, they then took the others wrist once J'onn started the candle between them. Logan allowed J'onn entry into his mind with no resistance. Once J'onn was in he spoke in a surprised tone, {Your mind signature has changed, I did not think this was possible. So much has changed, you must tell me what you have been through during my absence young one.}

Logan took the time to tell him all about his undersea adventure with M'gann and Kaldur. After he was done, J'onn spoke in wonder. {I was always thought it impossible to change your mind signature from birth, but you originally looked like a Green Martian to my mind and now you have the signature of both Green and White. Truly a wonder. It is hard to believe your powers have grown to this degree and your description of the shapes M'gann appeared to you are also a mystery.}

{Let's head to the library J'onn, we can talk more there.} as we passed my psychic walls J'onn stopped to look it over. {Your defense's have grown considerably just as your strength has. I would think that only a handful of beings on this planet could get through your defenses.}

{That's good to hear, but we have more than just this world to worry about. Don't we.} Logan led J'onn through the garden towards the library but once again J'onn stopped and when Logan noticed why he blushed a bit. J'onn was looking at a statue that loomed large in this mental garden, it was a Very voluptuous female body. She had green skin and wore an outfit of green leaves and vines. Her red hair also had a few leaves in it as the statue was in the motion of running her hand through it which pushed forward and accented her breasts even more. Her lips were painted a dark green and parted as if she were about to speak. Logan guessed that this was his mental vision of Pamela.

{That is a vision of human beauty that almost rivals Wonder Woman. It seems as though you have met someone you hold very dear to your heart Logan. When you think the time is right, I look forward to meeting her.} Logan just mumbled {We are still new to each other, we have much more to learn of each other before we start making family introductions.} Logan was too focused on his embarrassment to see the smile his words brought to J'onn's face. {Shall we proceed then?}

As Logan and J'onn sat in the library Logan began to speak. {My main reason for coming to the watchtower was to see if you had come back from your mission and if not, I would then water your plants like I have done a few times previous. My hope was to have you help me experiment with The Red as we have done but as I watched the movie with you, I had an idea I wanted to bring up to you. Please don't bring this up to anyone but I am thinking about becoming a Villain.}
