Li Ya basked in the sunlight despite being stabbed in the abdomen. He seemed to absorb energy like a solar cell, healing his wound rapidly. But even with his quick healing, he couldn't keep up with the speed of Joel the Destroyer.
The cells on Joel's body were multiplying rapidly, making him grow thirty centimeters taller than before. He towered over Li Ya, looking down at him.
"You guys are just hanging on!" Li Ya struggled to adjust himself as the other person rushed towards him.
Boom! A thunderous sound echoed through the wild suburbs. The immense energy released during their clash caused trees and grass to respond, leaving pits in the ground.
The two of them battled again, like two heavy trucks colliding with full force, shaking the ground and creating a sound that traveled for miles.
Diana quickly joined the fight.
At this point, it was clear that Joel the Destroyer had a significant physical advantage. Both Li Ya and Diana had sustained injuries of varying degrees, although not fatal. However, they were far from their best condition.
Joel, on the other hand, seemed tireless and even stronger than before.
It became another brutal exchange of blows. Li Ya's body reached its limit, and he and Diana were forced to retreat.
In the end, it was clear that Li Ya wasn't strong enough.
He only possessed 55% of Superman's power. Thankfully, he had unlocked Diana's mission card earlier, which gave him a power boost to match Joel the Destroyer. But Joel's physical strength seemed almost limitless, and it was dangerous to continue the fight.
Cards! Cards!
If Li Ya could unlock all the superhero cards and possess a semi-finished destruction day, wouldn't he be able to defeat Joel effortlessly?
Now, Li Ya regretted not having a large piece of kryptonite on him. If he could pin down Joel with Diana's help, they could have gone back to town to find kryptonite.
However, Li Ya quickly dismissed the idea. Diana was nowhere near as powerful as Joel the Destroyer.
Rumble...
Another roar filled the sky. Li Ya initially thought it was another armed fighter joining the chaos. But as he looked up, he saw a black speck approaching, flying closer and closer.
What was it? A bird of prey? Or an airplane?
No! It was Superman!
In the air, Li Ya caught sight of a person with hands raised above their head. They were wearing a blue suit with a red cape billowing in the wind.
Huh!
A surprised sound escaped Li Ya's lips as the figure descended from the sky at a steep 90-degree angle.
Boom!
The person landed on the ground, causing cracks to spread like spider webs. Slowly, they stood up, their powerful pectoral muscles stretching the 'S' on their chest.
They looked at Li Ya with a smile and said, "Hi brother, it's been a long time!"
"Hey Clark, I can see you've arrived, but... be careful!" Li Ya warned, noticing Joel the Destroyer appearing behind Clark, ready to strike with his spurs.
However, Clark only smiled slightly as the bone spur was about to strike.
He slightly tilted his body to the side, simultaneously grabbing Joel the Destroyer's arm and swiftly flinging him towards Li Ya.
Staggering on his feet, Li Ya's right fist resembled a taut bowstring as he threw a powerful punch towards the airborne Joel the Destroyer.
Crash!!
The sound echoed like a resounding bell. Li Ya's punch sent Joel's body spinning uncontrollably in the air, crashing into the ground and leaving behind a deep pit due to the inertia.
Seizing the opportunity, Diana leaped forward with Vulcan's sword and aimed for Joel the Destroyer's heart, ready to strike.
"Roar!!"
Joel the Destroyer performed a nimble dodge, evading Diana's attack. He retaliated by throwing Diana aside, while simultaneously kicking hard and chasing after her, raising his spurs to strike down.
"Diana!"
Li Ya's heart leaped into his throat as he swiftly dove forward, attempting to stop Joel the Destroyer as quickly as possible.
However, the opponent was no slouch in terms of speed.
With narrowed eyes, Joel the Destroyer closed in on Diana. But just as he approached, Diana tightly clenched her hands and activated the power of her guardian silver bracelet.
"Roar!"
A powerful shockwave emanated from Diana, spreading violently in all directions.
Caught off guard by the shockwave, Joel the Destroyer halted in mid-air before being forcefully thrown back.
"Go to death!" Li Ya roared, using one hand to lift himself up and deliver a punch towards Joel the Destroyer.
Clark hovered in the air, his eyes emitting intense heat rays, while the three of them tossed Joel the Destroyer around like a game of football.
"Diana, are you alright?" Li Ya took the opportunity to catch Diana, who had fallen from the air.
Diana held onto Li Ya's neck and replied, "I'm slightly injured, but it's okay... By the way?"
"He's the friend I told you about, Clark Kent. You can call him Superman." Li Ya revealed Superman's true identity without hesitation.
Clark slowly flew over to Li Ya and gave him a playful glare. "You seem to underestimate me, huh? Shouldn't you introduce me to this lady?"
"Her name is Diana, Princess of the Amazons. You can call her Wonder Woman. She is the third member of our Justice League," Li Ya said with a smile.
Clark nodded, deep in thought. "Amazons? I remember from ancient history that my ancestors visited Earth once. Are the Amazons a race created by gods?"
Diana proudly raised her chest. "Yes, my mother said that Zeus molded my people out of clay."
Zeus creating a woman out of clay and delving into the origins of life with her, eventually giving birth to a daughter...
Do ancient gods play around like this?!
"Roar! Roar!"
Joel the Destroyer growled on the ground. After this round of attacks, he seemed to grow even more frenzied.
Clark observed him closely, a frown forming on his face. "What kind of monster is he? I can feel that he's much stronger than before."
"He claims to be one of General Zod's men. I killed him using flint before, but somehow he was resurrected and became this monstrosity," Li Ya explained.
Upon hearing the name "General Zod," Clark's brow furrowed even deeper. "General Zod? Is Zod also here on Earth?"
