Chapter 13: Kavachi Cave

Clark and Li Ya hurried to the Native American site in the western region, bringing an end to the protest demonstration. After familiarizing themselves with the surroundings, they took numerous photos and prepared to write a report.

Suddenly, Clark halted and asked Li Ya, "Did you hear that?" He paused to listen for a moment.

Li Ya, having absorbed everything around them, could only hear the loud noise of the construction machinery but nothing else.

Clark dismissed the possibility of hearing anything significant, ruling out the distant sounds from the nearby woods where a couple might be engaged in intimate activities. He wasn't the type to pay attention to such things.

"No, what's wrong? Is there a problem?" Li Ya asked, perplexed by Clark's sudden focus.

Clark appeared to be searching for the source of the sound and noticed the excavated ground at the construction site. He pushed his glasses down his nose slightly, enabling his enhanced vision to scan beneath the surface.

His expression suddenly changed. "Damn, the ground is empty. Didn't they survey the area before digging?"

Due to cost-saving measures, the engineering team in the small town had cut corners on several necessary inspections.

Clark swiftly rushed to the wire mesh fence surrounding the construction site and shouted to those inside, "Stop now, you're in danger!"

However, nobody paid any attention to him.

Li Ya also removed his glasses and observed a significant void under the ground. At that moment, the excavator working on the site was on the verge of breaching the superstructure.

In an instant, the ground collapsed, causing numerous workers and machinery to plummet into the void.

Rumble!

The hollow beneath the ground was over ten meters deep, making such a fall seemingly impossible to survive.

Reacting swiftly, Clark reached out and tore apart the wire mesh barrier, then with his super speed, he grabbed hold of the excavator's shovel.

"Hold on!"

With a powerful effort, Clark lifted the excavator single-handedly, while Li Ya ran past him and threw a mask towards him.

"Take this!"

Afterwards, Li Ya rushed into the cave to save the trapped individuals.

Although Superman possessed super speed, he was unable to run vertically on rock walls like the Flash.

Therefore, Li Ya had to maneuver between the rock faces, using his jumping ability to catch the falling workers.

Rescuing them didn't require much effort. Li Ya initially planned to leave, but noticed that Clark hadn't emerged from the underground cave.

Consequently, in front of the crowd that had gathered, Li Ya jumped back into the cave.

"Oh my God, who are these masked individuals?"

"Let's see how much they can lift with one hand!"

"I recognize them! They're the two officers who claimed to be Avengers and Superman, and saved the hostages during the town bank robbery!"

For a brief moment, people worldwide began to speculate wildly, while the Native American professor, Joseph Liuwan, gazed at the two figures with reverence as they leaped into the cave.

"The prophecy has finally come true. The savior Naman from the prophecy has finally appeared!"

Inside the cave, Li Ya found Clark engrossed in examining the cave's patterns.

"Clark, what are you looking at?"

Clark pointed at the pattern on the cave wall—a series of strange symbols arranged according to certain rules.

"I've seen these symbols before!"

Although Li Ya couldn't understand the meaning of the symbols, he inexplicably recognized them as Kryptonian script!

"These aren't Earthly symbols. Could they be from your home?" Li Ya asked.

"Yes, yes! There are similar symbols on my spaceship!" Clark took a step closer, examining them more closely.

In the center of the symbols, there was a small hole shaped exactly like the Superman family crest.

"This hole matches the key on my ship!" Clark exclaimed.

Li Ya glanced around and noticed that the other cave walls displayed not text, but a white mural.

"Clark, look at this mural. It seems to convey a message."

Upon hearing Li Ya's words, Clark diverted his attention from the hole in the rock face and focused on where Li Ya was pointing.

The first mural on the cave wall depicted numerous meteorites falling from the sky, decimating the land, while a small figure stood amidst the ruins.

"This is..." Clark's expression changed as he realized he was depicted in the mural. He continued examining the subsequent murals.

The subsequent paintings were more abstract, requiring some imagination to interpret. Li Ya surmised that the conveyed message was that the person emerging from the meteorites possessed the power of multiple adults and had extraordinary abilities.

"This cave has a history of at least five hundred years. Why was my condition recorded here half a millennium ago?"

Clark was consumed by a storm of emotions, frantically scrutinizing every detail of the mural in an attempt to unravel the secret of his life.

Li Ya shook his head, understanding that the figure depicted in the cave might not be related to Clark. After all, any Kryptonian who arrived on Earth could fit the description.

Even the Pleiadians couldn't predict events five hundred years into the future. The only logical conclusion was that Pleiadians had also come to Earth five centuries ago and were revered as gods by the local indigenous people.

Outside, the sounds of ridicule grew, with numerous vehicles approaching. Li Ya could even hear the wailing sirens.

"The police are sending people over. Let's leave!" Li Ya suggested to Clark.

Reluctantly, Clark replied, "Perhaps this is the key to uncovering my origins. Maybe I can fit my spaceship into that hole!"

Li Ya firmly pulled the bewildered Clark along. "Regardless, the cave isn't going anywhere. Let's leave for now, and once the storm has settled, you can explore it using your guise as a school reporter."

In reality, if Li Ya wished, he could reveal Clark's entire life story, including his family history.

After the two departed, the local police quickly dealt with the collapsed area. News of the mysterious cave quickly spread across the internet.

It became known as the "Kavachi Cave" after the indigenous people who inhabited the region.

Shortly after, land buyer Lex Luthor heard about the cave and arrived with a group of scholars to study the ancient murals.

"These symbols are extraordinary; they don't belong to any known language!" the scholars marveled upon observing the unique symbols in the Kavachi Cave.

Lex carefully read the mural's contents and became fixated on the Kryptonian text and the emblem-shaped hole in the middle.

"This hole seems to be designed for inserting something. I need some equipment to study this further."

Determined, he instructed the scholars to decipher the text as quickly as possible.
