Chapter - 08

For one week and two days, I didn't get a chance to meet Aaron. He was studying very hard for the final exam, as he was a very meritorious student. All of us became pretty much busy with ourselves. I finally started to study, we only had a few days left for the final exam.

Exam weeks are super stressful. I couldn't get enough sleep, my appetite was always poor, and I frequently caught a cold. It was the worst when I couldn't talk to both Emma and Aaron. Yes, Aaron sometimes and I sometimes talk... mostly he starts it, so I can't say no, you know!

Just like that, time passed by real quick, and now it's the last exam. I was super excited. Finally, I could watch some anime and chill. It was maths exam and I got almost 70% of the questions right, that's the highest I could've answer in my whole life. After the exam, I went home early with my mom and dad, they came to pick me up because they wanted to give me a treat they promised they'd give me if I studied hard through the exam week, how cool! That's how they always bribe me to study during exams.

I came home right after having lunch at a fancy restaurant and took a nice and long bath. Right after the shower, I received a text from Aaron. He told me to come to the academy, right now. He had something to tell me. 'Is it what I'm thinking', I panicked at the thought. All of my dresses are either dirty or not ironed. I quickly ironed one of my 'best' dress, light pink shaded and got myself a good natural makeup. Believe it or not, it took me only 15 minutes to get ready. I can't believe it's the same me who once despised a guy named Aaron...

I finally got there and saw him standing in front of the academy. He was dressed like a pure gentleman. A navy blue shirt, warm white T-shirt underneath it, fine hairstyle, everything screamed handsome. It's almost like we're going on a date. No, it is a date. He gave me a hi, and I smiled as I walked toward him.

"Hey, How was the exam?" - Aaron said with his usual soft voice. I couldn't help but blush harder. He looks so gorgeous.

"Great... You look handsome."

"Hearing the word 'handsome' from you feels a 100 times better." - He said, smiling a bit. He kept on rubbing his neck from time to time. I can sense he's nervous, so am I. I couldn't resist any more, and I held his hand which was lying flat beside him. He looked confused at first. His hand felt like a soft flower petal under my palm. It's quite bigger than mine and smooth. I was a blushing mess by now.

"You look gorgeous!" - He said as he took my hand to his lips and kissed it gently. "Thank you for coming, I'm really grateful you didn't decline." I didn't say anything, I'm afraid I'd stutter if I said anything...better not open my mouth for the time being.

We were walking side by side, holding our hands, but none of us were saying anything. I thought Aaron was an extrovert, even though he is so silent now.

"You're nervous... Never thought you could get nervous!"

"Haha, yeah. I know nothing about dating!" - He said, again, he's rubbing his neck.

"Me neither. That's kind of awesome, don't you think. We get to have our very first experience."

"You...you didn't deny the fact we're dating! Am I awake, or is it a dream?"

"Hmm...maybe it's a dream. Should I slap you awake? I'm pretty good at slapping?" - I said, laughing out loudly.

"No no, I'm awake, I'm definitely awake."

"Hey, how about we go to a café!?"

"Sounds good"

We went to a normal, cosy looking café. There weren't many customers here and it was peaceful. "What do you want?'' - He asked me, passing me the menu.

"I have no clue. Just get me what you're getting!" - giving him the menu back without even looking at it. I'm just too nervous. I never went to a café with anyone, and I don't know anything.

"You like chocolate milk, right?''

"Yeah... How'd you know?"

"I saw you always drinking that in the classroom." Aaron then called the waiter and ordered two chocolate milkshakes.

"Any special requirements?''

"Don't use soy milk. She's allergic to it. Thank you.'' - he said before I could even answer.

"And how did you know that? I never told anyone about it" - I said, with a slight smirk. He seemed tensed. It's amusing.

"Ahh...mm..because...that...you know?!"

"I don't know" - I said with a fake clueless, "Quick!"

"If I love someone, I have to know everything about that person, right?!"

"The fact is, no one knows this except myself and my family. I don't think you ever met my parents, and Billie doesn't like to share anything about me with anyone."

"I just know... don't ask me anymore..." - He said, pouting like some kitty. I like the pouting though, it looks cute on him. I know how he knows it. I probably told him about it when we were young. Recently, I got visions of him and my past in my dream. Like, we were lying on the grass in front of the lake, talking to each other, laughing. It's vague, I can't see the face of the other person, but I figured it was him.

After the small café date, we went to a nearby park and spent some time there. It was lovely, we talked about random things, and it was fun, I enjoyed it a lot. Never knew that, holding hands with someone and simply sitting on a park bench could be this much peaceful. We had a wonderful time together, and now it's finally time to go home.

"Let me drop you!" - Aaron said

"It's okay I-"

"I insist!! Please!" - Aaron said with a puppy face, and I couldn't say no to it! We called an Uber, and now we're standing on the side of the road, waiting for the cab.

"You said you had something to say! What is it!?" - I said, breaking the silence. I kind of forgot about it.

"I-its nothing..."

"Tell me, please. I was so curious all the time!"

"You know what I might say...!"

"And I want to hear you say it..."

"Why's this sudden change, though?"

"It's all your fault..."

"Is it?... Ahem, so. I am about to confess my feelings towards the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life. Bella, Would you be my girlfriend?"

"Umm...No!" - I said after a long pause. The way Aaron's face dropped at this was literally so amusing.

"Whyyy" - He asked, whining. Did he seriously think it was that easy to ask a girl out? Well, you got a tough one...

"Where's the fun if I said 'yes' so easily? You've got to try harder."

"Haaah! Ok miss Bella, would you allow me to take you on another date, I'll try my best next time?"

"Sure... Let's see what you do next time!"
