Chapter 3 ×•× Jokes & Him?

Winter and Sarai faced away from each other, Sarai dived into her phone and Winter did the same, until she smiled at herself thinking of something to kill the silence with music in the car.

"Hey, you guys want to hear something funny?' She asked, Lavender groaned as she knew what was coming their way, Sarai, on the other hand, smiled and gave a nod for an agreement as she turned the music off.

"Okay, what do a tick and the Eiffel Tower have in common?" Winter asked, smiling to herself, Sarai tilted her head in confusion.

"Huh?" Sarai asked, Lavender groaned again,

"No Dad jokes, I don't like them," Lavender spoke out, Winter ignored her and stared at Sarai for an answer.

"I don't know, you tell me?" Sarai smiled, Winter laughed.

"They're both Paris sites," Winter burst into laughter, while Lavender groaned in annoyance.

"That's not even funny," Lavender spoke quietly, Sarai laughed a bit at Winter's sweet laugh.

"I get that one because a tick is a parasite and the Eiffel Tower is a site in Paris." Sarai said, Winter nodded her head in agreement.

"Give me another," Sarai asked, which made Lavender look at her for a split second and then back to the road.

"At this point, I think you're just trying to irritate me." Lavender huffed out, Sarai ignored her and waited for Winter to speak again.

"Okay, here's one. Did you hear the rumor about butter?" Winter asked seriously, Sarai tilted her head,

"Um, no, I don't think so. Tell me," Sarai asked, Winter shook her head as the seriousness in her face turned into a sweet smile.

"Why should I, I'm not going to spread it," Winter finished laughing at her joke, Sarai understood and began to laugh with her new friend.

"I like that one," Sarai said, smiling, Winter nodded once again in agreement with Sarai.

"Okay, enough dad jokes, let's just listen to music, please." Lavender asked, the two looked at her and smiled.

"Sure, Lav," Winter said, smiling. She took out her headphones and put them in her ear to listen to music.

Sarai sighed and looked at Lavender.

"Are we on the fastest route?" Sarai asked, Lavender nodded her head to let Sarai know they were.

"Yes, we should be there in about twenty-six more minutes," Lavender spoke back, Sarai nodded her head. She stared at the highway for moments before turning back to Lavender.

"Hey, is it just me or is this day kind of off?" Sarai said to Lavender, in response Lavender tilted her head in confusion but understandment as well.

"I get what you're saying, but I don't necessarily understand," Lavender said as she pulled into the next lane.

"Not to be rude or anything, but what made you get us together, like you, never wanted us to meet before, so why now?" Sarai explained, and she was right, Lavender never wanted them to meet since they were the polar opposites of each other.

"I don't know, It was kind of like a voice telling me that I need to do this. The week before this, I kept dreaming about us three, but we all looked completely different. You had pitch-black hair and red eyes, while my hair was longer and curlier than usual, and on top of that I had emerald green eyes." Lavender explained, Sarai stared at her in confusement.

"What about Winter?" Sarai asked, Lavender smiled to herself.

"Winter had such long hair it passed her knees, kind of like Marie's hair," Lavender said, bringing up an old friend, Sarai nodded.

"That's pretty long, did she look the same?" Sarai asked again, Lavender tilted her head.

"We all did, just with slightly different features. Winter's hair was a dark shade of purple and her eyes were ocean blue, she was gorgeous," Lavender said, Sarai, smiled,

"I mean she kind of already is," Sarai laughed, Lavender chuckled with her.

"I don't know Sai, these dreams felt so real, and to add to it, I kept seeing my imaginary childhood friend Zack," Lavender said confused, Sarai looked at her confused.

"That weird Albino guy you said you used to see in your room doing who knows what?" Sarai asked, recalling Lavender telling her about him, Lavender nodded her head.

"Yeah, I told you when I was like six, he appeared to me and wouldn't leave me alone until I was fourteen, he left me alone after I met you and Addy," Lavender explained, Sarai shivered.

"What did we say about mentioning that Its name," Sarai said, Lavender rolled her eyes,

"We won't be seeing her again anyway, she doesn't like us anymore so who cares, besides you can't tell me that it's not weird that I had this weird imaginary guy following me up until I was fourteen," Lavender told Sarai getting back on topic and off the freeway,

"I'm mean yeah, but would if he wasn't an imaginary friend and instead, a ghost or spirit with unfinished business in the human world, ever think about that?" Sarai said as she watched Lavender's face become irritated.

"Of course I did, and he told me he wasn't a ghost or spirit, he said in time I'll learn who he really is? That has always confused me ever since," Lavender said, Sarai smiled.

"Putting it simply, we're together because your night terrors had confirmed something might happen when we're together on this exact date?" Sarai said, putting it simply, Lavender thought for a moment.

"My night terror always tells me something about the future, if not all then some of the future I saw might come true, you know how my night terrors work," Lavender told Sarai, Sarai gave a nod.

"Yet, you never listen to them except if it's about your family or people you care about." Sarai reminded her, Lavender nodded her head,

"I see you forget that you and Winter are people I care for. So maybe my night terror was telling me that if you two met then something either bad or good would happen today, and I believe it's going to be good due to the fact you seem to like her and haven't tried ripping her head off," Lavender chuckled, Sarai gave a small laugh to her friend,

"I do, and maybe you're right about the whole night terror's," Sarai confirmed as Lavender parked the car. "Hopefully," Lavender said as she turned around and tapped Winter.

"Hm?" Winter hummed, she took out her headphones and stared at the two girls.

"We're here," Lavender said, Sarai unbuckled her seatbelt and immediately got out of the car.

"Ah, finally," Winter said before unbuckling her seatbelt and getting out as well. Lavender smiled and got out of her car, locking the door.

"Let's hope this day does get better," Lavender spoke out loud to herself before walking off with the other two friends.
