Anton was strapped up to a monitor, his heart slowly and quietly beeping. I sat in a chair, waiting to hear whether he was better or not.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
I hated hospitals. I had never been in a human one before this, but in my mind, both werewolf and human hospitals were horrible. Whenever I stepped into one, I was reminded of Liana, the best friend I hadnt seen in so long, and that time she had broken her leg.
The human hospital was white, cold, and sterile. The lights hurt my eyes and the floors made my footsteps echo so that that I sounded a million times more alone. And the noiseoh, God, the noisewas always in the back of mind. With my senses, I could hear the multitude of coughs from a few doors down and the woman who was giving birth.
The werewolf hospital was unlike the human hospital in that it was dark, run down, and tired. Few people ever entered the hospital except the seriously injured, so instead of cough, I would hear people dying.
