Prepare To Leave

Alpha Rinzler once again tried as hard as he could not show what he was feeling exactly at the moment. For him, it was a way to get his mate back home. But since his father didn't know about the plan, it would be unfair for him to see his son with a smile on his face.

He has had a lot of time to practice how to behave around his family when they received the news. Even Savannah was chewing in his façade. His father asked him again for the hundredth time, "are you sure it is okay for you to go?"

"Dad, I am okay, you are not. Okay? I will handle this well. And anyways, the rejection happened ages ago." As soon as he said that, he looked away.

Every wolf knew what happens after a rejection, some of the wolves die, go crazy, get ill, and others who aren't strong enough kill themselves.

Alpha Rinzler has been sick ever since and if he doesn't mate Marina, he would be saying goodbye to his beloved pack and family. He felt bad for pretending to be sad in front of his dad, but that was in the plan too.

Apart from himself, only three people know about it: The dead alpha, Doctor Bedelia, and High Priestess Mannequin.

Alpha Rinzler wished his father knew about the plan, the painful look he had on his face was the same one as when his mother died. Perhaps if he had told his father that death was around the corner, waiting for him, then his father would have agreed to the plan, right?

After all, Alpha Aspen was one of the few who knew what it meant to live without a mate, his mate died, and just like his son, he has been sick ever since.

Alpha Aspen started coughing, Alpha Rinzler and his sister Savannah immediately placed their hands on their father's back. They rubbed him soothingly. They stared at each other, one thought going through Savannah's head, "is dad going to follow Alpha Fisher soon."

"I am okay, I am okay." Alpha Aspen said and offered them a sad smile.

They removed their hands from his back and waited for him to say if Alpha Rinzler will go.

"If you are sure my son." He said softly.

Alpha Rinzler nodded.

"Give everyone my condolences. Please tell Luna Audra and Doctor Bedelia I will come as soon as I feel better." Alpha Aspen said staring at his son, he had one more name he was supposed to answer but he didn't know if he should or not.

Savannah as if she could read their father's thoughts, she said. "Tell Marina, she can go and…" She paused and stared at the two men who knew where that line was going to. Savannah has never forgiven Marina for doing what she did.

She blamed Marina for putting her in the position she was in. Marina's rejection didn't only affect Rinzler, it affected her too.

"Savannah, don't." Alpha Aspen said staring at his son.

"Dad, it is okay." Alpha Rinzler said and at the same time told his wolf to calm down, Savannah was just being their sister. There was no need to be angry at how she has disrespected their mate.

"Sorry brother. It is just that. Actually, why don't I go with you?" Savannah asked.

"NO!" Alpha Aspen blurted out. If he went with his sister, he won't get a chance to meet Marina and tell her that he was dying. Savannah for sure would chop Marina's head off as soon as she saw her.

Alpha Aspen and Savannah stared at Rinzler, that was way too fast. "Okay, you need to get the hell out of here." Alpha Rinzler heard his wolf saying. He sighed deeply and said, "sister, you and I both know we can't leave the pack at the same time."

"But uncle is here," Savannah said.

"Beta Tetra? He is somewhere right now doing I don't know what." Alpha Rinzler said, happy that his sister didn't mention his father, the last thing he wanted to say in front of his father was, "Alpha Aspen can't lead the pack even for a day."

"Fine. But if she dares do anything, tell me. I will come flying." Savannah said sassily.

"Dad?"

"Okay. Prepare to leave."

Alpha Rinzler's heart leaped, the anticipation to see his mate was killing him. He couldn't wait to meet his mate. Even the headache he felt in the morning wasn't there anymore. And as he left the room, he left behind his sister and father staring at him. Sad for him.

Sad that he was going to see the woman who rejected him.

Sad that he was the only one who can go to The Fishers Pack.

Alpha Rinzler walked hurriedly to his room, he nodded at the wolf he met on his way there. At least that was out of the way. As soon as he entered his room, he jumped around in joy. There won't be a problem with his family, if the plan went well, at the same time tomorrow as today, he would be with Marina as they talked about their future.

A man can dream, right?

A knock came on the door, he stopped jumping and composed himself. He became as sad as he could get and then opened the door, "Savannah."

"I came to check on you. Brother you know I…"

"Savannah." Alpha Rinzler warned.

"Okay, prepare to leave, I will select the wolves who will be going with you," Savannah uttered.

"Thank you." He said and closed the door when his sister walked away.

"This is it, hurry." His wolf said to him.

"I know." Alpha Rinzler said and rushed to the bathroom, he was acting like a lovesick puppy, but who cared?

He started removing his trouser and stopped when his phone rang. "Seriously, Savannah will be the death of me." He thought as he got the phone out of his pocket.
