Chapter 1

I sigh as I walk out of school once the last bell rings for the day. Why can't Friday come quicker? It would be really cool if I didn't have to worry about schoolwork the same night. "Hey Kirk." I hear Sawyer call out. Oh fuck. Here we go again. No matter how many times I fight back she ends up beating me up worse than before. "Do you f**king hear me, b***h?" I hear her call out again as her steps get closer. I turn around and am met with a slap to the face. "When you hear the future Luna call your name out, you answer. Got it?" Sawyer spats at me. I chuckle as I look at her. "Future Luna? Oh please. As if you'll be the future Luna. I know you won't be the future Luna because Logan only uses you for sex." I tell her. She growls as she goes to punch me, making me instinctively lean back. "You think you'll be the next Luna to the future Alpha, Kirk? Think again. Logan asked me to be his future Luna and I said yes." Sawyer replies. I scoff and roll my eyes before I start laughing. "You think this is funny?" She spats at me. "Yes because my father knows what Logan does. In fact, you know the party that Logan's father and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in command are talking about? Yeah, that's for me to be 1st in command and for Logan to be Alpha." I snap at her. She growls again as she catches me off guard by kicking me. I fall on one knee, making Sawyer punch me in my face. I groan as I lean my head back only for Sawyer to grab my hair and punch me in my face one after another.

Sawyer throws me to the ground, making me groan in pain and spit blood onto the ground. "You act as if you'll be the next 1st in command. I'm sure they were talking about a party for me when I become Luna for Logan. Next time I'll just hang you by your wrists and f***ing beat the shit out of you like that." Sawyer spats as she kicks me before walking away. I slowly get up, rubbing my stomach as I hear Theo walk over to me. "She did it again, didn't she?" Theo asks me. I sigh and nod as I go to bend down to grab my bag, only for Theo to grab it for me. "You know you have to tell Mom and Dad. Dad is first in command and the next first in command shouldn't be treated like shit." Theo tells me as we walk over to my car. I sigh and look down as I get my keys out my pocket. "You know it'll only cause trouble for Logan and Alpha Hunter." I say as I unlock the car, the both of us getting in. "No because another shewolf is physically hurting you. It wouldn't be any trouble because you would have the proof that it's abuse." Theo replies, making me look at him. "Look, Theo. I know you're worried about me. But I can take care of myself. I'll be 18 in a few short months and be first in command before that. You heard what Dad said. He wants to step down from being 1st in command. I want him to step down. Do you know how long he has been 1st in command? Since he was my age. So I want him to relax and be able to enjoy the rest of his life." I explain to Theo as I start my car. Theo sighs as I put my car in drive, pullin away from the high school and to our home. It may not be much since we live in the woods -or close to the woods- but everyone is close together house-wise. The Alpha and his family, my family, the second in command and his wife, and the third in command and his wife all live in the same house. Just in different sections of the house. The Alpha and his family live in the North Wing, my family and I live in the East Wing, the second in command and his wife live in the South Wing, and the third in command and his wife live in the West Wing.

Timeskip

I pull up to our home and park my car, Theo getting out as soon as I park the car. Uh oh, here we go. "I still don't understand why you can't tell Mom and Dad about what she does to you." Theo says as I turn my car off. I get out and close the car door, locking it. "Because I know for a fact that Dad will want to go to Logan because he's going to be Alpha soon." I tell him as put my hoodie back on, making sure it covers the bruises on my neck that she did a few days ago."Why would your father go to me because I'll be Alpha soon, Amy?" I hear Logan say, making me look up. I watch Logan walk over to us, making me bite my lip. "Nothing, Logan. My brother is just being annoying that's all." I lie as I glare at Theo. "Why can't you just tell Logan that-" Theo starts but I cut him off. "Theo, why can't you just focus on yourself for one? I can handle it." I say quickly. Theo glares at me before mouthing 'I'm telling Mom' before walking away from Logan and me. I facepalm and sigh before bending down to grab my bag. Theo dropped it on the floor before he left. He's only 15 so he wouldn't understand. He'll be 16 in 5 months so he thinks he understands what I do. He isn't 1st in command. The 1st in command spot goes to the first born, regardless of the gender of the first born. "So, what was your brother talking about, Amy?" Logan asks me as I walk past him. "Don't worry about it, Logan. I'll make sure I take care of it." I tell him. He grabs my bicep as I walk by him, making me stop and tense. The sparks. I feel them where his hand is. Does that mean.... No, it can't be. He can't be my mate. There's no way. "Amora..." Logan says as he trails off. I yank my arm out of his hand before running into the pack house, ignoring his calls.

I run into the house, running towards the stairs, hearing my Mom call my name out. I stop and turn around when I get to the top, seeing Mom and Dad at the hallway that leads to the offices of the Alpha, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in command. "Is everything okay, Amy? You rushed in here and Theo said something happened before he went to do his training. What's wrong?" Mom asks me. "I told Theo that I could handle it. And I will handle it. I just don't want you or Dad to worry about it now. I just want to be alone for now. Call me when it's dinner time." I say as I turn back around, running down the East Wing hallway. I run to my room and open my door, running inside. I close the door and lock it before taking my bag off and walk over to my desk. I put my bag down before running my hands through my hair. "How the hell is Logan, the future f**king Alpha of my pack, my mate? There is no way that he's my mate. Maybe the Moon Goddess made me think it was a false mate bond?" I say to myself as I pace back and forth in front of my desk, gripping my hair. Why would the Moon Goddess make me my future Alpha's mate?
