CHAPTER77 Wolf's Pain

  Celeste's POV

I had become tired of travelling from one person's car to another. I felt like a child being passed around by several adults who always wanted to keep their eye on me.

Sitting in Nathaniel's car, the engine hummed lowly as he drove me back to Liam's house. I didn't want to talk. Nathaniel was trying to make small talk, I just couldn't find the right words to say. My throat was raw and tight from crying, and my eyes were red and stung from my tears.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Nathaniel asked gently. I knew he was just looking out for me, wanting to be there for support, but I didn't want to say anything right now.

Without reply I kept my eyes on the road, not really focusing on anything in particular, I just wanted to lose myself and dissociate with reality at the moment.

"Celeste?" Nathaniel spoke again, but he was still met with silence. Eventually Nathaniel would hopefully realise I didn't wish to make any conversation.
