CHAPTER 97 The Snap

  Liam's POV

Watching the Stone house burn, the embers from the flames swirled in the air as the fire engulfed the building. I felt Celeste tremble in my embrace, I couldn't imagine the range of emotions she experienced at this moment.

The haunting memories of her childhood were being destroyed before her very eyes, but it was something she needed experience to gain closure. All those moments of unhappiness were burning into the atmosphere, it was a strange kind of therapy.

Gently tightening my arms around her, I nuzzled my lips into her neck and laid gentle kisses, being the comfort she needed in these final moments "You're okay baby," I whispered "I'm here, she cant hurt you any longer,"

Celeste didn't reply, but she held onto my arm around her and squeezed me, which I knew was her way of saying she was grateful. Something felt slightly different though, not in a bad way, but as though we had broken through a negative barrier.
