Promise?

Jessica's P O V

"What are you doing here, your highness?!" Lilly's shivering voice filled with worries made me sad. Her eyes are filled with tears and fear of losing me. 

"I was just looking around, Lilly...." I whispered, seeing her hands holding onto mine like I could disappear if she let them go, as her eyes begged for an explanation. Her whole body was trembling as she got closer while sniffing as she tried to hold back her tears. 

"Why didn't you say anything?! Do you know I was looking everywhere but couldn't find you! I thought you went missing and left me alone..." she whispered, thinking that I left my world without saying to her. More tears strummed down her beautiful eyes, and she didn't break eye contact with me. 

"You left with Garen to bring all those things for our lunch, and I just thought about looking around this place. That's how I found this one and just got lost in the view and the calmness this place gave me...." I explained and took a breath, holding her hand, saying "Sorry, Lilly... I won't do it again. If you didn't see me in the palace, then you can come here. I will be here!". 

She nodded and replied, "Please tell me when you leave. Don't scare me like this ever again?! You know, we are the only people for each other! We should take care of each other!". 

I nodded and started to walk, taking her hand, saying, "I know, so don't ever cry. It hurts me". 

She gave me her beautiful smile and nodded her head while sniffing and stopping her cry. Even if the soldier disappeared, I still felt his presence but couldn't see it. 

I shook my head, trying to remove them, saying, I might have been so scared before so I felt him, but he must have left. Then I left for the palace with Lilly.

"Wow! This is a lot!" My eyes widen at the sight of everything they have brought. I am so sure that we don't have to worry about food for the whole month. I turned to Garen and asked with a huge smile, "How did you get these?!", 

"I have been working here for so long! There might be a lot of werewolves who look down on me, but there are a lot more werewolves who are good and kind-hearted too! I asked them for help and they helped me with this," He said with a huge smile like he did something great and he did. 

The only good thing that the maid ever did was give him as my servant. That's a great help.

"Wow, I still can't believe there are werewolves who have an actual heart to help?" Lilly asked in a sarcastic way, rolling her eyes, irritating Garen. She loves to do that. 

"Just because you have never seen one doesn't mean there is no one that is actually kind! And stop mocking and questioning people who helped us to eat!" Garen said in irritation as he took a step forward to look at Lilly, who had the same anger in her eyes. 

Thier fight is a good show to watch. 

"I didn't mock them and I am thankful for their help! I was just surprised! All I ever heard about werewolves is their side of killing humans for fun, just to show they are more powerful than us...? This is the first time a werewolf actually smiled at me and said something good or did something good! I even thanked them! You were there, right?!" Lilly raised her voice, her face turning red in anger because of Garen's words. She took a step forward, her eyes staring into his like she could kill him if her eyes had that power. 

I had to stop it before they could kill each other. I don't know why they are fighting in the span of 2 days simply because they could. Even now, they are fighting and ready to kill themself for no reason...? 

I stepped between each other and stopped their staring fight and said, "I am so hungry! Can we get back and cook something good?". 

Both of their eyes landed on me. It took a few seconds for them to answer, but they did. Both of them nodded their heads at the same time and replied at the same time too "Sorry Your Highness, we will get back to work", 

This shocked and confused them as much as it did to me. They are so similar, even the way they respond. I smiled and nodded my head, saying, "Now, go back to work, but remember! No fighting!". 

"Yes, Your Highness," they said at the same time, too. My smile widened as they stared into each other with hate for a second and started to move toward the things they brought. 

"What would you like to have for lunch, Princess?" Lilly asked with a smile, turning to look at me. 

"How about fried rice that I taught you?" I asked with a smile. It's been so many days since I had fried rice. 

"The one we burnt last time?" She asked in shock and I nodded my head, saying "This time, I will help you guys so we won't burn anything!". 

"But you are a princess! You shouldn't work!" Lilly said in worry, trying to make me remember Princess Elendra's words. I shouldn't do it but I really wanna have it so I took a sigh and nodded my head, replying "Yes, I am a princess but I am the only one here who knows how to cook fried rice... right?". 

"Ok, how about this? You can cook that next time and now, I will cook you something special, ok?" she said with a smile, trying to make me agree. I wanna have it but let it be. I will cook it another time if Lilly doesn't trust me with the food and the fire because of the last time. 

"Do you promise?" I asked, getting closer because if she promised, then she couldn't say a word next time. She stared at me for a few seconds before taking a long breath, nodding her head, and said "Fine, Princess, but you should keep me with you while cooking, understood?". 

I gave her a huge smile before nodding my head, saying, "Yes! I promise!". 

"Sorry to intervene, Your Highness, but can you tell me what is that? Fri... fried rice?" Garen asked in confusion, just the same way everyone back in the human kingdom reacted when I said this. 

I was overconfident and tried to make the fried rice but failed and burned almost everything, so no one trusted me again with the kitchen. 

"I will make it next time and I am so sure that you guys will love it," I said with a smile, having full confidence in myself as I tried it again and got it right the next time but didn't tell anyone. 

"As long as it's edible, I am fine," both of them said at the same time, making me turn to them. And they were already looking at each other with their eyes wide open. 

These 2 are so same that I starting to wonder if they are the same person. But what shocked me the most was that they smiled at each other while walking to the kitchen. I was about to say something, but stopped myself from seeing them smile at each other.
