Rabbit Of The Hunt

Later that night, as the moon hung high in the dark night sky, Safira was led to a secret location. At her insistence, Damien was allowed to follow. Neither of them knew where they were exactly, only that they were a short distance away from the village.

All of the eggs that were being found were also piled around them. When Safira looked all around, she realized they seemed to be on some form of altar.

"Now, when the moon is right above the altar, the ground will begin to glow. The Rabbit of the Hunt will appear to collect the eggs and you will receive a blessing. Once he leaves, you can fire this flare and we will come get you," Mylzo instructed Safira as she handed her a flare.

"Wait, you're leaving us here?"

"Yes. We will see you later."

With that, the rest of the residents of the village disappeared into the darkness of the forest. As the sound of their footsteps faded into the distance, silence surrounded them.
