Chapter one

Lynn was small for a wolf, but that may be because she was treated like shit. "Where are you runt?" she started shaking at the sound of her Alpha's voice. She was 18 and should have been allowed to go look for her mate but she was a runt. When her alpha came into the room, he grabbed her arm. "We will be having a guest. Make sure dinner is done on time." He pushed her backward. "Yes alpha." She says bowing her head.

Kar walked into the packhouse of the clan next to his. His wolf was on edge for some reason. "Welcome alpha of the silver moon clan." The alpha Paul bowed in a show of respect. Kar followed and did the same. "Thank you, Paul." He followed the man to a dining room. They all sat down when a girl came and served them dinner.

Lynn was walking when one of the pack members tripped her. She spilled the wine all over her alpha. "You stupid runt." The man got up and hit her hard enough she heard the crack as her body hit the wall. When a loud growl was heard in the room she froze. Before she knew what was going on, she was in a pair of arms. "Mate." She heard.

Kar held the girl in his arms as he stared down Paul. "Mine." Paul looked pissed. "This runt can't be your mate. She doesn't even have a wolf." Kar looked down at the girl in his arms and saw her green eyes shift to blue then back. "Yes, she does. She is my mate and I will be leaving with her now." Kar saw the girl flinch when Paul walked towards her.

Pulling her close to him to protect her. "You are challenging me for my mate Paul?" Kar's voice was a low growl. Paul shook his head no. "Take her. You won't keep her." Kar mind linked his Bata and they all left. "What's your name little Ulva?" she looked up at him in shock. "My name is Lynn. How did you know my wolfs name though?" it was his turn to look shocked. "It just came to me as a nickname." He tells her.

When another wolf walked over to them, she froze and whimpered. "Lynn this is my Bata. He won't hurt you." She stayed in the safety of his arms. Her body was shaking. "Let's get you home Lynn." They walked into a huge house an hour later. She followed the man that was to be her mate.

"This is our room, Lynn. If you wish to make any changes you can." She looked at the room it was so much bigger than the cell she was given. Lynn felt him pull her to the bed. "No, I'm not allowed." She said backing away. Her head was killing her. "Lynn you are allowed to do whatever you want. You are the Luna of this pack." She looked at him and shook her head.

Kar saw her shake her head then stop. When she staggered, he quickly caught her. "Lynn what's wrong?" that's when he remembered she was hit hard. Picking her up he laid her down on their bed. She looked like she was in a daze. Kar looked at her closely. She was beautiful.

"Are you going to reject me?" she asked him as she fought to stay awake. "I Kar Joel Cross take you as my mate." She looked at him. "Now rest Lynn you have had a crazy day. May I hold you while you rest?" she looked confused. "You're an alpha. You do what you want." She said to him. "No, my little Luna. I will always ask you first." She closes her eyes. "You may."

Lynn woke up from a nightmare so sat up and not realizing where she was. Her heart was racing. "Lynn sweetheart. You're okay. Can you look at me?" she heard the voice next to her. Turning she saw Kar. She felt like she was going to be sick. "Bathroom please." She felt him pick her up and carry her to the bathroom. She threw up, but when she was done, she felt tired.

Picking her up he carried her back to bed. "Lynn can you tell me why they didn't think you had a wolf?" she looked at him as he held her in his lap. "She came to me late. Then she asked me not to tell them or they would try to kill her. Ulva said they would use silver and wolfsbane on us. If they did that then we would never be free." She sounded so tired. "Lynn what did they do to you?" he felt her start to shake.

"It is easier if I just show you." She said. Moving to where she could remove her shirt Kar helped her. When he saw all the scars and burns his wolf wanted to kill her old pack. "My little Luna I'm sorry you had to go through all that. You are safe now and no one will harm you ever again." She turned to look at him. "Umm, can I shift? I have never been able to before." She looked down. Kar smiled at her. "Yeah come with me, Hun." She took his hand and followed him out to a huge backyard.

When she shifted it was painful. "Breath Hun." When it was done there stood a tall tan wolf. She was breathtaking. "Lynn your wolf is beautiful. Her name is Ulva right." The wolf nods. "Yes, my dear mate. I wish there was more I could have done to protect Lynn. If they would have known of me though she would have been hurt worse. I helped her heal." Kar smiled then shifted himself.
