Emily is considered a curse by her father, who abandoned her to live alone in the countryside the day she was born. However, when Emily comes of age, her father asks her to marry another man in place of her sister. She fights back but is poisoned by her father and stepmother, leaving her mute and without her wolf. Her fiancé, Alpha Klaus, is said to be nothing more than a head wolf with an empty title, and he's short-tempered and cruel, but is that really the case? "Tell me, why did you run away from your marriage?" Alpha Klaus puffed on his cigarette, sunglasses hiding his face, "Did you not want to marry me because you were afraid of me?" She fled, he chased. Wherever she was, he found her. She was treated like grass by her family, he treated her like a treasure. He sheltered her from the wind and rain and healed her from all her wounds. He took her in his arms, a warm snort in her face, and he whispered in her ear, "Emily, I ask you to think of me every day, just as I miss you." I want the rest of your memories to be with me. " Note: This book deals with adult content, violence and dark magic.

Chapter 19 The Last Chance

Emily frowned at the pungent smell of a mixture of alcohol and tobacco. While she disliked the musty odor, it was precisely what she wanted.

The musty smell of the bar would have muffled her, and Emily did not think that even Klaus's sense of smell would be sharp enough to find her in such surroundings. The next thing she had to do was to cover her scent completely and find a safe place to hide.

The lobby of the bar was so packed that Emily barely had room to stand. A waitress was struggling to navigate the crowd with a tray in each hand, and as she passed Emily, the wine from one of the trays almost spilled over her.

Meanwhile, two men drinking at the bar looked toward Emily's position. One of them, a burly man in a white tank top, his eyes almost narrowed into a slit, held up a glass and gestured for Emily to come over.

Emily turned her head to one side and ignored the man. But the next second, the man was actually walking straight toward Emily. To avoid that trouble, Emily hastened to the dance floor. Swimming through the narrow spaces like an eel, she eventually found the entrance of a passageway and entered it immediately.

There was a closed door at the end of the passageway, and Emily did not hesitate. She just had time to turn the handle, and the door opened. She went in and found the room empty, with iron hangers covered with all sorts of sexy outfits. The table in front of the mirror was cluttered with lipsticks and powders, and a variety of different cosmetics.

As soon as the door closed, the air inside became oppressive, and the smell of perfume and sweat was revolting.

The powder room, as terrible as it was, was the best place for Emily to hide. So she retreated into a fitting room that could only hold one person, crouched on the ground, and quietly waited for the time to pass.

At that moment, there was the sound of hurrying feet outside the door, and Emily heard the voices of women talking. Some complained that the customers were tipping too little, while others said the heels were of such poor quality that they almost fell in the dance.

Emily guessed that the people talking outside were a group of dancers who had just finished their last show. But just as they were talking, the sound was suddenly cut off. This was followed by the sound of hurried footsteps, and this time Emily heard the gruff voice of a man, who seemed to be urging the women to hurry up and perform.

Emily dared not make a sound; she hid herself in the fitting room and did not move. However, a light footstep was approaching slowly, and Emily tensed immediately.

Suddenly, the door to the fitting room was thrown open. A fat man with a red beard glared down at Emily and yelled back at her.

"How dare you be lazy here?"

He grabbed Emily by the wrist and pulled her out of the fitting room as the man swore and pushed her.

"I knew you bitches couldn't be trusted. I paid you to perform, and you not only complained, but you also dared to be lazy."

Emily shook her head desperately. She would have denied that she wasn't a dancer, but the man simply ignored her. He then grabbed a black dress with cutouts and threw it at Emily, then ordered her, "Hurry up and change your clothes."

Emily didn't move, and the black dress slid straight off her and fell to the ground. When the man saw this, he grew even angrier. He tried to grab Emily's hair, but when he did, Emily took the opportunity to bite him on the wrist.

The man cursed, and the next second Emily lifted her leg and violently kicked the man in the groin. The man's face immediately contorted in pain, his legs tightened, his center of gravity shifted, and he fell straight to the ground.

"I'm going to kill you, you stinking bitch."

Emily immediately stepped over the man's body and rushed out of the room. She made her way through the hallways and, in a panic, reached the bar.

"Hey, I found you, beauty."

A man blocked her path, and Emily looked up to see that the man in front of her was the one in the white waistcoat she had just encountered.

"You look nervous?" The man in the white vest smiled lewdly, "My name's Robin, and I'd like to buy you a drink."

Fuck off, bastard. Emily stared at the man named Robin, whose shoulders bulged with muscles, and whose muscular frame was like a wall.

"Robin, this she-wolf doesn't seem to be interested in you." A bald man got up from a bar stool and eyed Emily curiously.

"Eric, I got here first," Robin reminded his companion. "I'll take her before it's your turn."

"Maybe we can meet her at the same time," the bald man winked at Emily. "I bet you're going to love the threesome game."

The two men stood side by side in front of Emily, and it seemed they wouldn't let her go. Emily pretended to smile; she deliberately lowered her collar to divert their attention. When both men's eyes were fixed on Emily's breasts at the same time, Emily took the opportunity to reach out and poke her fingers into each of their eyes.

Emily immediately turned to run, but the bald man caught Emily by the waist with his hand, closing the pierced eye while the other glowed with a fierce light.

"You're going to pay for it, slut." The bald man threatened Emily, "I'll kill you until you die."

"Let her go." A low, powerful voice rang out, and Emily was startled to see Klaus standing before her.

His figure stood tall and firm in the dim light, like an unshakable mountain. The aura of a strong man emanating from his body caused those around him to retreat.

But the bald man still didn't let go of Emily, and he glared at Klaus.

"Who the fuck are you?" The bald man's voice was full of defiance.

"You won't want to know my name."

Klaus sneered, and the next second he was punching the bald man in the face with tremendous speed. The force of the blow was strong and swift, and in an instant, it threw the bald man off balance and rendered him unconscious.
