Alpha Darius's Point of view
I arrived home, a storm of emotions raging within me. Every detail remained etched in my memory. I had no grounds to fault Elena. She had only shielded her son from a callous man like me.
"Mum, you see what I'm talking about... Darius has been acting odd or rather suspicious lately. Look at the time he's getting home. It's half past ten and he's probably drunk," she said as I closed the door.
"I'm not drunk. I'm completely sober," I retorted bluntly, heading straight for the couch. "Hello, mum."
"Darius, dear, what's wrong?" Catherine inquired, approaching me.
I collapsed into a chair, burying my face in my hands.
"Where have you been at this hour?"
"I attended Killian's son's coronation party," I explained, coughing. "Then I stopped by the bar for a few shots of brandy, but I'm not drunk. I'm fine."
