She finally reached the house her pack members stayed in. The first one she saw was Gabe, a young warrior in her pack. He had messy blond hair and fair skin. He always wore a bored look on his face but to everyone's surprise he was a real social butterfly.

"We thought you would kill someone when you left." He said as he saw her. He took a sip from his cup that smelled of coffee, he walked closer to the front door and opened it. "Rachel's is inside, I bet she has some clothes for you."

Eleonora nodded and trotted through the now open door. Rachel and Gabe were mates, and their personalities were complete opposites. Gabe was the social butterfly of the pack and Rachel, well, Rachel liked to stay to her own little group. Others would describe her as a bitch and Eleonora couldn't disagree much on that part. One big part of that was Rachel's confidence and her resting bitch face. But she was a completely different person once you knew her.

She looked around the house as she entered it. The two-story building was bigger on the inside than she expected. First, she walked into a small hallway with stairs to her left, a door on the right and a big entrance to the back. She walked through the open door, smelling, and hearing her pack members in the back of the house.

To her left she saw a line of doors at the wall assuming they were bedrooms and there was probably a bathroom too. On her right side of the open room, she could see a cozy sitting area with two large couches and a big tv on the wall, other than a big shelf with books the room didn't have much more. She walked further seeing a few pack members through the next open door.

Dexter and Donna were seemingly fighting over food as they usually did, and others were laughing at them. Eleonora walked into the room, sitting down on her hindlegs as she took in the scene. There was a long table with piles of food stacked on it. Everyone sat around the table and was stacking their own plates and mouths with food. She was surprised that Gabe was sipping his coffee outside when everyone else was eating leisurely. Maybe even an extrovert needed a break from this crazy bunch.

"Leo!" Dexter smiled as he pushed Donna's face out of his way, she complained and grabbed at his arm but couldn't stop him. They were the most chaotic siblings Eleonora had ever seen. Put them in a room alone and the room won't stand much longer. The pack had silently made a rule to never leave the two alone. "I thought you would come back with blood on your paws." He laughed loudly and others joined in.

Eleonora rolled her eyes at them. Not able to say anything but give an annoyed scoff with her snout.

"Guess someone wants a few clothes to change back into." Rachel said, flicking her long black hair back. "Come on, my room is upstairs. Dede gave me some instructions for you." She smirked.

Eleonora rolled her eyes again, she attempted to say something back too but only a little snarl came out.

Finally in Rachel's room Eleonora changed back into her human form. She had to stretch her muscles a little since she had been a wolf for quite a while.

"You can choose from these options. Dede hopes you find your mate here and have a good first impression." Rachel laughed about the last part.

Eleonora scoffed as she put on a pair of underwear and a bra. She looked at the clothes that were laid out on the bed. They were either shorts or skirts and tight tops. "You guys are planning on killing me, right?" She pointed out the window, showing that it was the end of autumn and freezing cold in the evening.

Rachel just shrugged. "Suck it up." And left the room with a dramatic pose.

'Goddess, she really is one of Dede's friends.' Eleonora thought.

Eleonora examined the clothes in front of her and put on a pair of black shorts and a beige top. She rummaged a bit through Rachel's closet and got a grey cardigan to finish her outfit. Rachel would probably have her head, but she didn't care. She looked in the mirror to see her messy curls hanging everywhere, she decided to braid the top and front parts of her curls quickly to even them a little and was happy with the final product.

Her eyes rested on her reflection for another moment. She looked at her freckles and remembered something that Ace had said after their fight. He had called her 'Freckles', maybe meant as a nickname or as a taunt, she wasn't too sure about that.

She brushed her face and decided to forget about it. She walked towards the door realizing she was still barefoot, but Rachel's shoes were too small for her anyway. It was already a surprise that Rachel's clothes fit this good since Rachel was a head smaller than her. Eleonora decided to go down anyway. She came back to the kitchen, and everyone was starting to finish the food on their plates.

"You better have some food left for me or you won't be happy about the outcome!" She announced to her pack, and everyone turned to her again, looks of mischief and amusement on their faces. "You didn't!" She asked in disappointment, holding her hand to her chest in a dramatic pose.

She picked her nose and smelled the room. She could smell the lingering scent of sausages, bacon and pancakes with honey syrup.

"Who would leave our little Leo starving?" Jace came into the room from what seemed to be the kitchen. He held a plate full of sausages and bacon in one hand and another plate full of pancakes topped with syrup in the other.

Eleonora's eyes lit up and she felt the water forming in her mouth at the majestic sight. "You're the best, Jace." She ran towards him, placed a quick kiss on his cheek and took the plates away from him. She sat down at the table, looking for a fork to use. She didn't see any clear cutlery and was attempting to use her hands, just as she heard something jingling next to her head.

"You can't give the girl her food just like that." Samantha stood beside her with a glass of juice and a fresh set of cutleries.

"Sammy, I didn't know you were here too!" Eleonora said in a happy voice.

"I couldn't leave these guys to starve." She gestured around the room at all the tall and bulky men and woman who needed their fair share of food every day. "Who knows what this pack would feed them?" The crowd around them laughed. Excluding Samantha, Rachel, Donna and Eleonora there were five other women with them and seventeen guys who had to be fed. Werewolves ate a lot and Samantha and Jace knew that best.

Samantha and Jace were mates and married for over a decade already. They were both 32 years old and run their own restaurant in the city close to the pack community. There wasn't a week where Eleonora didn't visit their restaurant, sometimes she even brought her laptop and worked from there. It was a cozy and nice family restaurant and always frequented by the pack members. But they didn't fall short on human costumers either. Even on a weekday the place was filled with guests.

"I thought I couldn't eat your food for the next weeks but I'm glad you're here too." Eleonora said smiling, digging into her plate of food.

"Everyone was more surprised to hear that you were coming, Leo. You always liked to have a grand entrance, seeing that you came late and alone. And I heard about your little fight this morning. So, what changed your mind to come?" Samantha asked with a wink in her eye and sat down beside Eleonora.

Eleonora knew exactly what she was implying. Since she was a child of the alpha everyone was eager to see her find a partner. "Goddess, before anyone asks, no, I did not find my mate and came because of that. I simply wanted to get out of the house for a few weeks."

"I remember how grumpy you were when you were glued to that couch a week ago." Dexter said, receiving a death glare from Eleonora.

"Don't even mention that I couldn't even go on a run during that time."

"So," Dexter started. "We didn't talk about something else earlier."

Eleonora faced him while eating and he sat down in front of her, everyone else was sitting too and started to be quiet for once.

"Spit it out already." Eleonora said impatiently, not liking the silence from her normally loud and messy pack members.

"The Alpha gave me the responsibility over this mission. But you're more capable than I am in this, so if you want to you can have the job." Dexter stated rather seriously.

"Dad gave you this job for a reason and he didn't change his orders for the same reason. So no, Dex, you stay in charge. You know what to do and know everything about the job here. There is no reason for me to do anything to change that." Eleonora said, raising her fork at him.

She looked around the table since everyone was still quiet. She saw grimaced faces, some who looked disappointed and others who tried to hold in a laughter, some creaked out a muffled noise who failed to hold their laughter anymore.

"What? Do I have something on my face?"

And everyone broke out into a laughing fit, for some reason Eleonora laughed with them. Jace came to her side laughing and explaining. "Dex made a bet with a few of the guys. He won since you literally recited what he predicted you would say."

"I guess I'll get some profit then. If you bet on me, I expect something in return." She smiled victoriously at Dexter, who just groaned at her comment.

The room was filled with laughter again and after a while everyone settled down in the kitchen to talk or in the living room. Some went to their rooms to change, sleep, or have a good time with their partner, at least those who were here with their partners or mates.

"Dex," Eleonora said, getting Dexter's attention. "I noticed something at training today. Aren't there any female fighters or warriors in this pack?"

Dexter shook his head. "As far as I know not even one. I asked the first day, but people got real quiet about it and nobody gave a proper answer."

"This pack gets stranger with every new info I get." She leaned back in the couch and looked up at the ceiling. "First the people are strange, then the Alpha and now some stupid rules and reasons we don't even know. I guess I have to do some digging later."

"Do you have your tech stuff with you?" Dexter asked curiously, a glimmer of excitement in his eyes.

"Of course, dummy!" She flicked his forehead and the big guy let out a low growl, only amusing Eleonora more. "I plan on working from here. This will be helpful for us too." She smiled mischievously.

"Fine then, tell me when you need help." Dexter offered.

After spending the evening with her pack members Eleonora returned to the pack house where her room was. She walked around the building seeing that the window to her room was still opened so she climbed back inside. Everything was as she left it a few hours ago and her clothes laid everywhere on the ground. She left the things where they were since she wasn't in the mood to tidy up.

She walked across the room to get her small suitcase and placed it on the desk. She opened it and was relieved to see that her computer and all the other things were undamaged. She took everything out and placed it on the desk, after a few minutes she had everything set up and was ready to do her research.

She wanted to know more about the pack she was staying in and the first thing she did was google. She scrolled through article after article until she found one that was over twenty years old.

The title read 'Crimson Rose'. Eleonora had heard that name earlier that day. Ace had said those words when he saw her in her wolf form, but she didn't think any of it. But this couldn't be a coincidence.

Once her interest was picked, she wouldn't stop until she had the answers she wanted. She knew this would be a long night.
