The Spark

Even though the rooms were set by nobility and ranks, inside the event's venue, they were all equal.

Rosina walked inside the entrance and gazed at the decorations inside. She was in awe, and her attention was taken by the butterflies that flew at the roof.

"This is amazing," Rosina muttered. She was walking straight when she bumbled into someone.

'Ugh, this always happened to me!' Rosina looked up, and her mind thought it would be Dragon, but it was a different man.

Striking blonde hair that looked like gold and bright blue eyes, similar to Dragon, looked down at Rosina.

"My apologies," Rosina curtsied and immediately turned around to leave.

'Wait!" the guy called her out, but Rosina didn't acknowledge him.

Rosina didn't want another encounter with a man. She wanted to stroll around and admire the place instead of flirting and finding a mate. Rosina wanted to avoid Dragon at all costs.

The greenhouse soon became crowded with wolves, and the noise of their chatters echoed in the place.

Rosina, who was starving, went to the buffet and grabbed her breakfast to fill her stomach.

A loud giggle of a couple of ladies was heard nearby. Rosina glanced at the side and saw a familiar figure standing around the ladies.

'Dragon,' Rosin thought and looked at the thin curtain hairs that covered parts of his forehead. His jet black hair made his blue eyes pop even more.

Dragon glanced at her, which Rosina immediately avoided, and stared at the stack of pancakes.

Rosina silently thanked her servants for choosing her dress because several she-wolves wore the same yellow color.

Rosina took pancakes, toasted bread coated in butter, and iced coffee. She looked around for any available table, but they were all occupied.

Rosina decided to exit the greenhouse and went to the garden, where Rosina saw some vacant chairs.

Nobody was around since they were all socializing inside.

Rosina smiled and looked at the sun shining in the clear sky. It wasn't hot, and the sunlight felt nice on the skin.

Rosina enjoyed her time eating alone while watching the butterflies suck nectar on the flowers.

"Seems like you liked to be alone," a familiar voice was heard behind Rosina.

Rosina didn't even look back since she knew who it was. "What are you doing here?"

Dragon chuckled and sat opposite Rosina without permission, making her raise an eyebrow at his action.

"Very daring, aren't you?" Rosina stated while rolling her eyes.

"You'll invite me to sit with you anyway," Dragon confidently said and placed his plate on the table.

"Maybe it's the opposite of what you've thought," Rosina scoffed and crossed her arms over her chest. She had lost her appetite due to Dragon's presence.

Dragon chuckled and ignored her indirect action of dislike.

Since Rosina had no choice but to tolerate Dragon for the time being since she didn't want to make a scene and be seen as someone who got affected by small matters.

Rosina ate her food elegantly. She felt awkward eating together without saying a word. The silence was bearable, but she was itching to break it.

'Stay elegant,' Rosina thought and focused her attention on the butterflies flying around.

"You look cute in that dress. I've never thought of seeing you in a pastel color," Dragon stated and looked at Rosina from top to bottom, even tilting his head just to see the ends of her gown.

Rosina closed her eyes and exhaled slowly before facing him. "Lord, may I ask if you needed something from me? I believe the ladies will be sad about your absence inside the greenhouse."

Rosina showed her pearly white teeth and a friendly smile to Dragon, who was cringing at the tone of her voice.

Dragon lowered his head and hid behind his hand as his body convulsed. He was trying to prevent himself from laughing.

"Is there something funny, my lord?" Rosina raised an eyebrow at Dragon's reaction.

"No, no," Dragon shook his head and calmed himself. He smirked and Winked at Rosina. "Are you perhaps jealous of those ladies? Be mine, and I'll try to ignore them as much."

Rosina scoffed in amusement. She stood up from her seat since she didn't want to converse with Dragon any longer. "My lord, I'm afraid I'll decline your offer. I valued myself more than getting jealous of a man who can't be content with one."

"You're really a judgemental wolf. Do you perhaps think that I'm a lady's man?" Dragon stood up and looked at Rosina with amusement.

"Yes," Rosina stated firmly and curtsied. "I'll be taking my leave now. Good day."

Rosina turned her back and walked as fast as possible, away from the sight of Dragon.

Dragon's smile vanished and was replaced by a serious and mean look. He fixed his tie and drank his wine before leaving the garden. Dragon didn't chase after Rosina even though he was fascinated by her.

When Dragon entered the greenhouse, the single ladies flocked around him, getting his attention.

As usual, Dragon entertained them, giving his best seductive smile and sweet tongue, which easily swoon the ladies, but neither gave him the spark he felt when he was with Rosina.

The electric spark that ignited every sense in his body only meant one thing, she was his mate, but it was evident that Rosina felt the opposite.

The elders always told the men that the spark indicated being mates. The she-wolves wouldn't feel the spark; instead, they felt attraction and allure toward their mate.

Dragon knew that Rosina was not into him. He had sensed the dislike in her eyes even though her smile and tone were lovely and pleasant. That made him think that Rosina might not be his mate, or she was a hard-to-get wolf since she had seen him flirting with other ladies.

'Nah, I'm just overthinking,' Dragon shook his head to remove the thought from his mind. He began entertaining the ladies to prevent thinking about Rosina and her plumpy lips.

I am thankful for laughter, except when milk comes out of my nose.
