"Tic , tac, tic, tac..."
"Alpha, not to sound rude but you have been staring at that invitation for a while and we have to send back the messenger with our answer soon." Luca, Beta of La Luna pack, shifted uncomfortable in his seat.
A slow rumbling came from the Alpha's chest followed by a head scratch "Is it that time of year already? And a ball to be precised, you know I don't do well with formalities".
Victor , La Luna's Alpha was not raised in the traditional ways where love and compassion is being shared, no, he was trained to be a machine, a warrior, a crude and law enforcer leader. His parents were power hungry and he should be the one to unite all the Italian packs under one ruller: Il Capo. "Show no weakness, feel no pain" was his father's motto which he digged into Victor since his birth, his mother, not the tipical Luna was going head to head with his father and pushed their beliefs into the little boy.
Their ruled in their time with a fist of iron and raised the pack from the ashes until the greatest number of warriors was belonging to them. And they protected Victor, they gave him everything except feelings and he was happy that way. Luca, his faithful Beta took care of that, with 5 years difference in age between them Luca gave Victor happy memories and the feeling of friendship, that's all he had.
"Yes Alpha, I suggest you accept ,is just a formality anyway and try your luck into finding your mate, the pack has been waiting for 7 years, our Luna will strenghten the pack's bond and this way your mother, our present Luna, can stop pushing you into blind dates." Luca raised from his seat and began rearranging the books in the library.
"Ok , send the messenger back with our confirmation and inform my parents and your mate of the upcoming event. How is she anyway? Did she adjusted to mother life?" Luca had been looking for his mate for longer than he can remember and found her at the ball last year, it was mutual agreement for her to leave the pack that she's been raised in and join her mate , shortly after a little pup followed and they were blossoming together.
"She's amazing, said Luca while looking at a small picture with the three of us in front of my desk, her motherly instincts are beyond my expectations. She doesn't even need me." he dropped his eyes to the floor feeling left out of it.
" Oh Luca, do I feel jealousy in your voice? Bianca is a ex- fighter and her mindset differs from a normal female, just bear with it." Victor said while sitting up from his desk.
The light in the room became diffused when he stood, his broad muscled body stopped the light from penetrating the windows . His tonned body was being squeezed by his formal attire on his biceps and chest, years of training have formed him into a masterpiece of a man earning him many admirers between his pack females. The grey trousers hugged his thighs and visually slimming his waist to that of a body builder and his shoulders long and wavy hair was giving full justice to his heavenly blue eyes.
" Knock, knock" the light noise made Victor growl knowing already the scent of who was behind the door.
"I'll just excuse myself, Luca said while already halfway out the office ,good luck with that Alpha."
Growling in dissaproval of the new presence in his office Victor sat back in his chair opening one of his shirts buttons and untying his tie.
" Amore, why did you close the mindlink for me? I had important news to share." she was the head trainer for the female section, she worked hard for her possition in hopes that she could become the Luna of her pack.
Her tall and slim frame , her toned mucles on her arms and legs , her broad lips and eyes were screaming dominance, she was a leader in her small group she reigned upon but not on the Alpha's good side. Walking in a lascivious way towards Victor's desk, she sat her bottom in front of him all ready to be served.
"Are you not hungry Alpha?"
' Mate will not be happy with your doings, human. ' Lucifero, Victor' s wolf paced around his mind between the high walls he built.
