Along The Sidewalk

“Where are we running off too?” Sabrina questions while they both run hand in hand, together on a sidewalk. “To get married.” David casually replies and Sabrina abruptly stops on her tracks. “M-marriage?” She stutters. David turns around and stands facing her. “Yes! And let me tell you that I want four kids. Three girls just like you and a big brother to protect my girls… And he must take my looks of course.” “What?! Marriage? Kids?! Where are all these things suddenly coming from?” “It’s time! A hurricane is about to head our way and before that we must get married.” David emphasizes, moving close to her. “But David we can’t just do it right now… We have to tell my mother and-“ David didn’t give her a chance to complete, he crossed the remaining distance between them and claimed her soft blabbering lips only to put her to a stop. “Another important thing…” He breathes as he held her close. “I love you.” That had Sabrina moving on her toes while her insides were left burning with the flames of desire. ========= SYNOPSIS ========= David is not your average man. Relentless Thoughts

"What did you guys talk about?" Sabrina asks her mother the moment she enters the apartment.

"Nothing just about work and his life." She answers, putting away her shoes "And by the way what you two were doing there? What is going on between you two?" She asks in a serious tone, coming in front of her.

"Oh maa! Nothing, absolutely nothing!"

"Yeah, I saw that so don't fool me."

"Maa I just met him today and... and he was so persistent when he heard me singing at the roadside and he followed me to my work-"

"What? you sang there?" She asks with disbelief.

"No, I was actually helping out the poor old beggar-"

"Oh Sabrina, when are you going to stop your charity work?"

"I can't just ignore when I see something like that maa. I can't live like that and you know maa." Sabrina looks down and her mother holds her face in her hands, moving it up so she may look into her eyes.

"But you have to understand Sabrina that there are things that you can't change and that's why you can't take pity on everyone." Sabrina takes her mother's hands into hers. She looks at them and notices how wrinkled and rough they have become from working.

She has worked half of her life just so Sabrina could live like other kids in the world although she didn't have a father her mother made sure that she was enough for both, she was still trying her very best to do everything in her father's place.

"I agree maa but just let me help those whom I feel like I can help them." Her mother smiles at her and leans to kiss her head.

"Just don't get stuck in any mess." Sabrina smiles back at her mother with a slight nod. "And don't you think I forgave you on what I just saw half an hour ago." Sabrina groans as she remembers that how her mother doesn't like her to hang out with boys yet she found her almost kissing with her ex-colleague and not to mention when she just admitted that they had just met today. She raises her hands in surrender with an apologetic look on her face.

"I am sorry maa. It won't happen again."

"Just be careful, you are a twenty-year-old girl, a grown up and know the difference between wrong and right and I believe I can trust you with that." Her mom says with concern. She pats her cheek and walks towards her room.

"Maa is he weird or something?" She asks in a very low voice intentionally, afraid what her reaction might be to her question related to David if she hears it but to her disappointment, she heard it and turns back to her. She doesn't snap, neither scolds her instead gives her a pointed look before speaking.

"He is... okay but has a very problematic family with whom you surely don't want to mess." She hesitates before asking further but gathers her courage to speak.

"Maa, can you tell me more about him?" Jennifer raises an eyebrow at her, she observes her face before moving to sit next to her.

"Well, let's see, he is 23 years and is studying business. He is a very calm and enduring person who also has the potential to conquer the world but doesn't have the will to do it."

"For a co-worker, I think you know him a bit too much?" She questions and Jennifer gives her a hesitant smile and with that she walks away, leaving her in a confused state where she couldn't decide whether she should be happy or considerate.

That night Sabrina thought about David even when she didn't want to. It made her relentless that how can a person affect her so deeply just in one day?

Was it even possible outside the fictional stories? she wondered.

That night when she went to complete the lyrics of her song, all she could think was about David and it strangely helped her complete her song halfway and she was happy about it. When the thought of him, deprived her of sleep but in another way it helped her write the story for the song.

And thus, she welcomed her sleep at the first morning light.
