Chadd

Twenty-One:

"Are you feeling better now, Anne?"

My mom asked me as soon as I came out of my room and even though the truth, I don't want to go back to school, I still need to. I already lost two days of my school and need to catch up with our lessons. Although I still feel empty and I already knew what it caused.

"Yes, I feel much better now." I said and sat across her.

"Good to hear that." She answered. "Now, eat your breakfast first and drink your vitamins after."

I just nodded and smiled before I start to eat. "Uhm, mom."

"Yes?"

"Did Chaddy say anything to you before he went home yesterday?" Since I don't remember anything when Chadd went home, because the only thing that I remember was I just woke up inside my dream. I don't even remember if I answered his last serious question.

'Did something happen to you before you get sick?'

That was the last thing that I remember that he asked me and then, it goes blank. Nothing. I became conscious once I step in into my dream world and everything came back to me.

The darkness. The word 'pray'. The mysterious voice and lastly… Almos.

I badly wanted to know if he is safe but then I've learned that he's been sick and couldn't go to school for one week. That I worry so much, yet, my mind feels so empty and I'm trying my best to fight it and I will start by remembering about my conversation with Chadd. So I really hope I can get something to my mom, I really hope so.

"Nothing, he just let you rest since that was you said to him."

Rest? Did I really say that? "Okay…"

"Why? Did you forget to ask him something?"

"No, mom. I just feel guilty because I didn't pay much attention to him."

"Anne, he understands your situation. You got sick and needed a long rest." She answered. "And besides, he also told me that you should not go to school today so that you can take more time to rest but since that you insist that you already can, I'll just let you."

"Because I feel much better now, mom. Me conoces, puedo recuperame fácilmente."

"I know." She said and smiled. "So now, you should eat more it will help you to replenish your strength and health."

"Yes, mom. Thank you."

Akachi National High School

"Anne!" Chadd saw me immediately as soon as I entered the gates of our school and he almost run towards me. "I couldn't believe that you really going back to school."

"Of course! I am much better now so you don't have to worry much."

"But yesterday, you were kind of pale though I didn't tell it to your mom still it is much better if you don't come for today."

Now that he mention it, I have to ask him what did I told him before he left home. "Oh, that… what exactly did I tell you before you leave?" I normally asked him even though my heart beats so fast.

"You just told me, you wanted to rest more that is why I immediately left after giving you all the notes you needed to review. Although, I doubt you check on it because you look pale when I left you."

That I don't even remember because when my consciousness comes back, I was already in my dream world. "Don't you worry I already review all the notes last night since I slept enough that helps me to replenish my strength."

"So, did really something happen to you before you get sick?"

Chadd question made me stop walking and stare back at him. "Parece que no respondí tu pregunta ayer."

"What?"

"Nothing." I quickly answered. "Anyway, nothing happened, my body really just got sick because I was hanging out in our garden in the middle of the night. It took me too long before I went back to my room."

"And what are you doing there?"

"Nothing. Just staring up at the night sky," I plainly answered before I walk again.

"Jeanne, I know you. Something is bothering you, so you spend a lot of time in the garden. So tell me what it is?" he seriously asked.

"Anne!" we quickly heard Claire's voice and it really saves me from Chadd, because the truth, I don't want to answer him since that I'll just going to lie again.

Dream World

Here I am again and right now, I'm thinking how can I get to section one without getting into trouble? Until I saw a student coming out of the room where the section one located.

"Hey!" I quickly stop one of the students passing by. "Excuse me, can I ask if you know anyone named Sylvia?"

"Sylvia?"

"Yes, she is!" hope suddenly filled me in.

"Oh, sorry but she's not here right now."

"Huh? Why?"

"Our Supervisor told us that she'll be gone for a while."

"What! But… for how long?"

"That we don't know."

"Okay. Then, do you know where she lives?"

"Sorry we don't." I was unable to answer because I failed to meet and see Sylvia. "Excuse me, can I go now?"

"Huh! Oh, sorry! Yes, you may! Thank you." I quickly answered that she just nodded before leaving me alone.

'Now what?' I silently asked myself before I notice someone familiar to me and when I look at it clearly I was surprised seeing him here in my dream. "Chadd?"

What is he doing here? Why is he here in my dream?

"Oh, no!" I said when he suddenly walks away that I quickly followed.

Oh, darn it! Here I am again and the saying goes again. 'So near yet so far.'

I couldn't even reach him even though I almost run just to catch up with him yet, before I knew it…

Morning, Next Day

I'm awake with a question.

'Why is Chadd in my dream?'
