The tipsy girl was standing on the edge of a thirty-two floored building. She inhaled a deep breath watching the sight in front of her.
The Coterie City.
A city where Mafia leaders rule and the main economical sources are drugs, casinos, and all kinds of illegal stuff. She could hear the distant sound of an ambulance coming from afar.
Closing her eyes for a second or two, to feel the familiar ambiance, she removed the red bandana that was once covering half of her face. She chugged the remaining strong-tasting liquid in her small flask, before fixing her bandana back in place and throwing the empty metal behind her. When she could feel that the alcohol started to mix in her blood, she was finally about to jump but then was suddenly stopped when she felt a strong grip on her ankle.
"Hey, what are you doing?" The curious man asked, slightly pulling her leg, asking for her to go down. The girl eyed him in surprise, which suddenly turned into annoyance when she realized that it was a man in a white suit. The city lights shone down on his porcelain face.
She lifted an eyebrow.
A man. Of course...
She thought.
"Did you see my face?" That was the first thing she asked as she move a little to the side, for the man to remove his hold on her ankle. She looked down at him.
He slowly shook his head, without muttering any word.
She just nodded her head once in response. "Alright, now mind your business pretty boy." She said before fully facing him.
"Hey. I don't want to meddle in anyone's business too but I can't just do that. You're about to kill yourself." The man insisted once again tugging on her ankle one more time. "Oh, and thank you for calling me pretty." He said, showing her a gummy kind of smile.
The girl once again unintentionally raised an eyebrow, before laughing hysterically at the idea that he thought she was committing suicide.
Men.
She mentally shook her head, thinking. She turned around to face him fully before raising both her brows with amusement. "It's the Coterie City sweetie. Killing someone, killing for someone, or killing yourself might be the only way out. Ciao!" She said before letting herself fall freely from the building.
"Wait no!" The man shouted in horror, reaching out to grab her, but it was too late. It happened too fast. He looked over the distant height that the girl fell from, but was surprised when she couldn't already be found anywhere. Instead, he just heard simultaneous sounds of gunshots and shouting coming from the floors under him, that resonates from the windows of the building.
Just like the strong thin air flowing above the city lights, she vanished just like that, without even knowing who she is.
But one thing that the girl didn't know, was the thought that the curious man he met tonight, actually did see her face...
