Not taking the hint, my reflection remained gloomy and miserable. He looked fragile, like he was going to break down at any moment. I wanted to hug him. I wanted to tell him that everything was going to be okay, even if it wasn't.

Spinning the tap, the sharp screech flooding the otherwise silent room, I splashed the cold liquid against my face, squeezing my eyes shut.
Pulling away, tiny droplets leaking from me, I shook my face like a dog.

Drying my face, I made my way back to my room. I eyed the little raptor that watched over my phone, still a little bit unsure how I felt about him.
I was meeting Joel in an hour. I had been brave. I had, after a lot of help and support through the night from Lucien, decided to call him when I had woken up.
