Prologue

'Gather around!' The order from the cloaked figure led to rustling of fabric, people were forming a circle around the fire. The boy with the dirty blond hair too took steps to stand in the empty space left for him. Cloaks might've covered majority of the face of the people around but he didn't need to see them know who they all were.

'All hail the lord!' The cloaked figure said loudly and people repeated after him. The boy too repeated with slightly faint voice for he wasn't even sure why he was here. All he was supposed to do was pass this night anyhow. He continued to do as the cloaked figure, who seemed to be the head, asked everyone to do.

They seemed to be performing some sort of ritual. Walking around the fire, everyone threw ingredients they were given in it. Centaur hair, owl's eyes, sacred sand and some other items which the boy considered gross went into the fire. But the final touch came when everyone was asked to draw their blood and offer it to the fire. As the full moon shone the people gathered drew their blood from their veins and sprinkled it in the fire like a gardener waters his delicate plants carefully.

As the blood went into the fire, it erupted and a spark rose high enough to point at the sky. When everyone looked up, the moon was red.

'Today is the night when everything will be set to motion....' The cloaked figure began walking towards the boy. 'And the one who will help us is right here.' His hands grabbed the boy's shoulders, which made the later to hold his breath for a few seconds longer than he usually could.

'Are you ready?'

The boy gulped down and replied, 'Yes.'

The boy was made to kneel in front of the fire and the subsequent ritual was performed. When everything ended the cloaked figure said, 'Now we have hope. We will be back where we belong. Lord will be back where he belongs.' Loud cheers erupted from the crowd of twenty something people that were gathered there. The boy glanced around, his eyes stopping the person who had brought him here. Only if he hadn't listened to him, only if he'd said no, he wouldn't be sitting here like a fool, waiting to bring doom upon the good, the people who had fought so hard to bring peace into the wizarding world.

He closed his eyes for he knew, he had become beginning of the end.
