The Protagonist, The Stepping Stone

Xin passed the Martial Spirit to Shui Yue Er and said," New Martial Spirit, much better than what you have but same ability as your Dolphin Martial Spirit."

"Really?" Yue Er carefully takes the ball and looks into it, she sees a strange looking Martial Spirit Beast inside of it.

Samurott is a quadrupedal, blue, sea lion-like Spirit Beast. It has two pairs of pointed teeth, one in the upper jaw and one in the lower. Long, white whiskers extend from its snout and head, and it has a red nose and eyes. On the back of its head is a large, rounded beige helmet-like shell with spikes and a spear-like, pointed protrusion in the front.

A dull bluish-gray seashell-like carapace covers its underbelly, and its limbs are covered with beige, sectioned bracer-like coverings, that appear to be made of seashells.

The forelimbs' bracers contain swords called seamitars. The lower two segments of these bracers are the scabbards for the two swords, and the upper segment and spike make up the seamitar and its handle.

Samurott possesses three black digits on each limb, and a fin-like, splayed tail with the innermost section being beige.

It looks cute and powerful, it is strange that this Martial Spirit seems calling her to use.

Shue Yuer looks at the new Martial Spirit on Yue Er's hand and nervously asks," Youngmaster, can I ask you something?"

"Sure, ask me, I will try to answer it." Xin calmly said.

"Why are you giving a New Martial Spirit?"

That's right, Why Xin is offering Martial Spirit to Shui Yue Er and also in the past he always offers Martial Spirit.

"It's simple, I offer Martial Spirit as Opportunity for everyone," Xin Camly said.

"You know, every generation there's only a couple of people that we can call protagonists, those protagonists are the group of people that carry the will of the world."

"Protagonists are the people who can get anything they want, they can escape even the deadliest encounter, they can get anything and any opportunity whether they want it or not, and making the protagonist successful is not easy."

Xin looks at them and asks," Do you know what makes the protagonist strong and improve fast?"

All of them look at each other and one by one answer his question.

"An enemy?"

"No, I think I love one."

"You nympho, I think goal."

The girls give different answers but only one can actually pass the right answer.

"Stepping stone," Shui Bing Er answered.

"Your right," Xin smiled and patted her head," Stepping stone is the greatest boost for every protagonist,, then let me ask a question again, who is this so-called 'Stepping Stone'?."

Dean Shui Your helpless look at the girls, she already knows the answer inside, no need to think hard at all, after all.

"We are those stepping stones."

That's right, those who are not Protagonist become the stepping stone for the improvement for their chosen one.

It feels sad but this is the truth, whatever you have a strong Martial Spirit, from a prominent Clan or Sect, if you're not a protagonist, you can only become a stepping stone.

"The Martial Spirit that i offer is the key to prevent you from becoming a Stepping Stone for those chosen one, this is not foolproof but at least you are well protected."

"Does this mean we are all stepping stones for the protagonist?" Yue Er confused.

"What you hold is the key to break the curse of this world, it is a key for you to prevent becoming food for those chosen one, it's up to you how you're going to use the key to prevent that event from happening in the future."

"Then I will take it." Shui Yue Er gladly took it. She is sometimes easily confused but she is not ignorant to decline something good.

Xin looks at them and asks," What about you guys?"

Bing Er looks at Xin and asks," Are you a god?"

"A god? No," Xin shook his head.

"What are you? A hidden expert? A hermit? A heir of a hidden clan?"

"Me? I'm just a merchant."

"A merchant?"

"That's right, I did not give the Martial Spirit for free, I only conducted a trade, a fair trade."

"Yes, your Martial Spirit is almost perfect except for the Elemental Control and the World Restriction, while your Dean is more valuable because of her Spirit Rank and everything."

"You know my Martial Spirit!?"

Xin pointed to his eyes and produlysaid," Nothing can escape from my eyes, there's nothing you can hide from me."

After talking to the girls, the Dean decides that they need to trade something that isn't really useful for the group, not only will they discard their weakness, they will also gain a better one.

Dean Yuer asked," Can you help the other girls too?"

"Of course, so who wants to go first?"

"Let me."

The girl then shows her Martial Spirit, adn a strange and also rare one too.

"Slim Dance Snow Decoration?"

"My name is Xue Wu, can i ask if Youngmaster can improve my Martial Spirit?"

"You don't want to change it?"

Xue Wu shake her head," No,"

"Then let's improve it."
