Princess Aya

Some time passed. Aya was a young, beautiful woman now. She was walking through the tropical forest, giant trees were everywhere. Her companion, whom she called Sun, went out hunting, while Aya searched for a mythical flower of power. The spirits told her about it, that it can be found by the chosen one.

One of the Elements, Aether, appeared before her out of the air. He was an ethereal being, translucent and fiery. He materialized out of a spark, and turned into a little star that could fit into Aya’s hand. But he could transform into anything, become as big as a mountain or small like an ant. He was speaking to her:

“Princess Aya, know that we are with you always, watching over you. The King and Queen of the Cosmos have a message for you.”

“What is it?” Asked the Princess curiously.

“You are a daughter of the earth. Though you are a mortal, you have in you the divine power that the evil spirits fear and want to destroy. Your ancestors had the taste of the nectar of immortality, but they lost that power when they tasted the nectar of death. You will be able to find the flower of immortality, and then you will know your destiny.”

“How will I find it?” Aya asked.

“You will know in your heart what to do. We will guide you,” said Aether and disappeared.

Aya’s beloved friend, Sun, was hunting wild animals in the forest. Suddenly he saw a huge lion, his mane was golden like the rays of the sun. The majestic animal roared at Sun and then, just as the young man was about to kill the lion with an arrow from the bow, the lion spoke.

“Sun, I am the immortal King. I am invincible, your arrows are powerless against me, but I can give you arrows that can combat evil, and armour that can shield from death.”

Sun was alarmed and amazed by this wonder. He bowed down before the King in disguise.

“Please, give me these arrows and armour, oh most powerful King, so I can combat evil.”

At once, the lion turned into the King. He held in his hand a small crystal.

“Throw this to the ground and you will receive the gift you need.” At this moment the immortal King disappeared. And in his stead, Sun saw a crystal sparkle in the light. Sun picked it up, held it in his hands, looking at it in fascination. Then, he dropped it to the ground.

The crystal transformed into a small cube made of multicoloured glass. When the young man touched it, the box opened, and out of it came out a golden bow made of light, and an arrow appeared in Sun’s hand. It looked like he was holding a ray of light. As he held the bow and arrow in his hands, an armour materialized, clothing Sun in a metallic light, from top to bottom. Sun tried to shoot the golden arrow from the bow, and so he shot it into the sky, to challenge the evil god of the air.

Suddenly, a dragon appeared before Sun. The same one that tried to kill him years ago. The golden arrow appeared again in Sun’s hand. As he shot it at the dragon, Sun pierced his opponent’s heart. And the dragon vanished in a cloud of smoke.

Princess Aya was searching for her beloved Sun. She came to a large mountain and found an entrance to a cave. Inside, it was filled with gems and precious stones, and multicoloured crystal rocks.

Aya wandered the mysterious cave, going deeper and farther into the depths of the mountain. Finally, she saw an immense, beautiful cavern, its walls were made of translucent metallic glass. Like a mirror, the glass reflected the light from beautiful phosphor rocks which glowed green, and illuminated the space around her with infinite reflections. In the middle of the cave was a light. Aya approached it and saw that it was a crimson flower, like a rose growing out of the rocks. It was unlike any rose she’s ever seen. It glowed like a fire, and yet it was cold and immaterial, lit from within, with an otherworldly light. There was a dew drop inside it, the nectar of immortality.

Aya wanted to taste the nectar, but at that instant, a beautiful woman materialized out of the rose. It was the Queen of the Cosmos.

“Aya, I am the immortal Queen, I have the power you seek, and can give you eternal life, but tell me, daughter of the earth, what would you do if you were immortal?”

“I would destroy evil.” Replied Aya.

The Queen turned back into the rose, and the drop of nectar floated in the air until it turned into a flowing river of life.

“Drink the nectar.” Said the rose. “You will have the power of immortality, and live forever, once you break the ancient curse. There’s a lava lake in this mountain, in it you will find the plant with the nectar of death. Destroy the evil.”

Princess Aya drank the nectar and saw a lava lake across from the river of life. In it was a black, venomous plant which produced the poison of death. She walked upon the lava lake, impervious to the flames. In the midst of the blazing flames, Aya saw the dark plant of death. A monster appeared out of it. He seemed to be the opposite of everything good and beautiful. He attempted to consume her with deadly darkness, but Aya’s supernatural power created a storm of thunder and lightning. The power of the storm deflected the monster into an abyss beyond the lava lake. With a lightning bolt, she struck the plant of death, and it burned to ashes. But the venom of the nectar of death spread into the air and poisoned Aya. She lost her immortality and became mortal again. Out of the lava lake a dragon-like monster appeared. He was about to consume Aya in an all consuming fire, when he was struck by the golden arrow of light. The monster disintegrated into the ashes. Princess Aya recognized the shining warrior with the golden bow and arrow.

“Sun” shouted princess Aya happily. Her beloved embraced Aya and told her what happened. Aether appeared to Sun and guided him to the mountain, before disappearing. Sun removed his helmet of light and placed his enchanted armour and weapon back into the glass cube. The box became a tiny crystal which the couple kept throughout their lifetime, and passed on to their children. When Sun and Aya died, their souls passed on to the eternal realm where they lived forever.

The King and Queen of the Cosmos dwelled inside the earth’s core where they built a mystical kingdom. Throughout the ages they watched over the universe and helped humanity, and all living beings.
