Chapter 29 Pretentious

I can see. I can see those fears and terrors in their eyes. As they drift closer to the far shore, their eyes shine the brightest with so much life in them. I can't reciprocate that. My eyes can only look down on them with disgust and loathe.

They were planning to molest my mother after all!

I go and sit on the bed, trying to think what I should do with their bodies.

My disinterested eyes and relaxed face shines upon the dim light coming from other houses.

It was deliberate. I wanted.. at least one of them to know.. who killed them.

I recall everything I did for the past few months.

Pretending to bump into Mrs Eilin and exchange her calcium supplements with poison.

Grinning from ear to ear at her funeral.

Pretending to not notice Mr Xeno suspects us for Arran's disappearance.

Pretending to not know a hidden camera planted by him in a plant pot near our house.

Stalking our stalker.

Pretending to go to the toilet and mixing acid in Ms Yana's sunscreen on our maths exam.

Then rejoicing in her accident.

Making everyone my ally.

Pretending to be the victim before Eclise and lying to him.

Acting to not know that Eclise met with Xeno.

Taking an early leave from my work today.

Then overhearing the waiter's conversation with his friend today.

Drugging my mother to sleep for the first time.

Taking what I needed in a bag and crawling out through the bathroom shade.

Luring in my victims in the burnt house.

Stabbing both of them to death.

Now glaring at their dead bodies.

It was hard to pretend and hide all those for a long long time.

I leave out a long wheeze. I can't give up now. My drama still continues.

I take the dagger and lightly stab myself making it shed a few drops of blood. My eyes wince. I pull the dagger out of my stomach and hold my wound.

I can't lose too much blood. I need to stay awake.

I wrap the dagger with cloth and hide it somewhere only I can find. After I hid it, I sit next to them.

Eclise said he'd come any moment now. I must control my breathing lest I'll lose too much blood.

I press my wound.

Its so quiet.. I can hear the rumbles of the rain.

"Sain! Are you okay?!"

I flinch. "Eclise. Close the door."

"Yes!" What is this stench! He walks inside. "Is everything alright Sain?!"

Enlightened by the thunder flash, Eclise sees us lying in a pool of blood.

I can see the astonishment on his face. He's clearly taken aback and filled with surprise.

I say with my trembling voice. "Ec..lise.. I.. i think.. mom. Has killed some.. people!"

He shifts his glances from the dead bodies to the wounded me.

"Whah.." words refuse to come out of his dry throat. "What happened to you?!"

"I.. i tried to handle mom.. and she stabbed me as well. I'm alright. My wound isn't that deep… Bleeding has stopped too."

He rushes to me. "Let me see!" He lifts up my clothes and not only sees my wound but also other bruises and scars. "I'll.. tie this cloth around your wound. Where is your mom?"

"I've put her to bed in the next house."

"Come here. I'll take you to a hospital."

"No!"

"Why not?!"

"I can't leave! What if someone discovers the dead bodies here?! They'll take my mom away from me! I can't let that happen!"

"Calm down, Sain!"

"Eclise.." i look up at him. "Please help me hide the bodies!"

I can understand Eclise didn't expect me to say that from his eyes only.
