Unlike many people believed, Tulip finding Kingsley after the mana surge was just a cover.
Five years ago, late at night in the empty streets, a young boy wandered aimlessly with his stick. He was lost and trying to find his way home.
*Pitti* *Patter*
It started raining heavily and in no time at all he was soaking wet. Following the sound of the rain falling on objects, he found a table and took cover under it waiting for the rain to stop.
Since he was already soaked, he used the opportunity to cry and even if he was really sad he kept smiling.
Kingsley wasn't dumb, he knew his family considered him a burden but he didn't really blame them, he did feel like a burden.
He was blind since birth and even after going to so many hospitals, they couldn't do anything so he had to make his other sense organs useful, instead of relying on his eyes.
He waited for the rain to stop but that did not seem to happen anytime soon. When he had given up hope he heard someone walking in his direction.
Kingsley didn't know if the person saw him or if it was just a coincidence but he did not utter a word.
"What are you doing by yourself at this time of the night?" he heard a voice and even though he couldn't see anything he raised his head.
The voice sounded so pleasant that he concluded it could only be from a lady.
"I'm lost" he managed to utter.
The voice chuckled. "You definitely look lost, where do you live"
"Willow Street" Kingsley said.
"That's in another town, how did you even get here?" the voice sounded confused.
"I was lead here by Dad but couldn't find him later" Kingsley's voice trailed towards the end.
The voice remained silent but since he heard no retreating footsteps he knew that the person was still standing next to him, seemingly unaffected by the rain.
"Looks like you've been abandoned" the voice finally said.
"It was about time, I guess" Kingsley sighed.
His ear picked up a subtle movement, knowing that the girl was now squatting he popped out his head.
"How about I take you in?" the voice said and Kingsley remained silent for a good while.
"I'm blind" he said and turned away.
"I know" the voice whispered before helping him out of the cramped space.
Kingsley was confused but he did not question her and followed her. That was the summary of how he became her adopted brother.
No one else knew about him, not even her dad and she also hired someone to look after him.
She experimented on him many times, making his hair into braids, making him wear makeup, there were a lot of things that made Kingsley's life with her memorable.

"Unless my eyes are playing a prank on me, I'm pretty sure you can see" Pel said with a raised eyebrow.
Kingsley smiled. "It's all thanks to my awakening, I was able to see and my ability is even related to my eyes"
Pel did not say anything and just nodded.
"My ability is called God's Eyes" Kingsley explained. "Most of the time I can see the ability of others and their weak point...like you have seven abilities with six that aren't filled yet"
"You can even tell that...your eyes do seem unique but I don't think that's what makes you special" Pel shrugged, he meant to ignore it but Kingsley didn't seem bad.
Gold was an outstanding eye color even amongst other species, for the Ogodons, commonly known as the golden race, gold eyes meant one carried the blood of the royal family, and that was why Kingsley's appearance had taken him by surprise.
"What about you? Were you also abandoned?" Kingsley asked seeing that Pel had zoned out.
"You can't just assume something like that...I wasn't abandoned...and I honestly don't want to narrate my life to someone I just met" Pel said and Kingsley shrugged.
"I was just being curious bro"
Pel raised a brow and eventually sighed. "My family is in trouble and I am not strong enough to save them and even if I am, I'm stuck in this human body without a way to turn back"
Kingsley blinked and his mind tried to process what he just heard. "You mean this body isn't yours?"
"I wouldn't want a body like this even for free but I currently don't have a choice" Pel rolled his eyed.
Kingsley thought Pel was trying to make a joke, even though he didn't seem like the type. "So what are you? A diety reincarnated in a human body?"
"I don't understand what you just said but if diety means not human then you're probably right.
"You kidding right?" Kingsley asked seriously.
"Why would kid, I'm a proud Kerki" Pel replied.
"What the hell is a Kerki?"
Pel groaned and massaged his temples. "Forget it, just know I'm not human. Depending on what terms we're in, I'll explain when next we meet"
Kingsley did not ask any further and then changed the topic and asked Pel how he was doing at the academy.
Pel did not have any problem answering that and by the time Tulip came back they had talked about a lot of things and Pel even ended up giving Kingsley a ring which the latter exaggeratedly thanked him for.
Done with that Pel went to the mission hall. He wanted to take a simple task so he could get back to his lab but one task, in particular, caught his attention.
I'm so sorry for the slow update, had to get my phone repaired due to some issues but I'll be updating four chapters today, hope you like it. Leave a comment if you can and hopefully a power stone as well for motivation. Thank for reading.
