Choosing An Academy (2)

Of the rest to take the test another two were found to be Variants. It's not like there weren't other rare abilities that drew attention but they were not classified as Variants.

The instructors had stopped arguing amongst themselves. When Fizz confirmed that non of the awakened they picked had the test yet the instructors were a bit confused but they decided to keep watching the test.

Finally, all those with numbers were tested. Since Pel and his group had no number they were called out together and took the test again.

This time Pel decided to take the test last because last time the two Nate and Claude did not get to take the test.

"If I'm right then those are the once you've chosen" an instructor said turning to Fizz.

Fizz nodded, although he was a bit arrogant no one reprimanded him because of his background.

The test started with Layla, and then Adam tested. The instructors paid close attention to Adam after discovering he was a space Elementalist.

Their eyes narrowed dangerously each one of them where thinking of how to secure him by any means possible.

Space Elementalists, we're so rare that each academy only had at most five.

Tessa gained a lot of attention as well since her black lightning was considered a destructive element.

Nate and Claude turned out to be Varients as well and Nate's ability caught Pel's attention. He was also a Space Elementalist but since he was considered a Variant, Pel was sure the Variant classification wasn't just for show.

Back where the instructors sat, Des suddenly felt like a billboard. Since Nate was his choice they expected him to know this...so they thought he was hiding it on purpose.

The truth though was far from that, when he had chosen Nate what the latter told him was he could teleport, how could he know that there was such a thing that as Variant Space Elementalist?

The one holding a grudge was mostly Tulip who glared at him as if he stole her money.

The test continued, and Claude's ability was Weather Control. After him, Trevor tested then it was just Flora and Pel left.

When the device displayed Flora's ability, non of the instructors could sit still anymore. Each one of her ability coabilitiesconsidered priceless and she had both, not to mention she was a Variant.

"Who chose her?" the Red Wing instructor nearly roared.

"She's my pick" Tulip said without batting an eyelid, there was no way she was giving Flora up.

"Ehem...how about you convince her to join Red Wing" the instructor said shamelessly leaving the others speechless.

"Bullshit!!" most of the instructors roared.

Winx looked at them and snickered. "What will they do about Pel?...take my advice Tulip, disappear before he gets tested"

Tulip rolled her eyes, if she didn't know Winx well enough she would have thought the latter was being nice but the moment she decides to take this witch's advice, she would claim Pel without any shame.

"Keep your advice, I don't want it"

"Suit yourself" Winx scoffed and turned away.

Finally Pel entered the testing device and just like last time the device only categorized him as Varinat and nothing else but when instructors saw the seven white balls on the screen they forgot how to breathe.

"Impossible!!" an instructor said in his stupor.

"Are my eyes playing tricks on me? 7!!"

"You can see it too, so I'm not hallucinating"

Tulip stared at the dumbfounded instructors and sighed. It was bound to happen anyway so she forced herself to stop caring about the consequences.

After the test, all those confirmed to be Varients were called to meet the instructors, they would be given direct entry to whichever academy they chose.

Standing before the instructors, the young awakened were feeling nervous, Pel though wanted to test their abilities but what Ito said shocked him.

"What, something is restricting your access?" Pel frowned, frowneduld not be possible unless Ito couldn't perform at his optimal on this planet.

[Sorry Host]

"Are you kidding, I love challenges, now I'm even more determined to return to the lab" Pel sighed. He had not created anything in a long time which made him feel weird.

He snapped out of his thoughts when the instructors started introducing themselves and the Academy they were representing.

Instructor Melvin was the representative of Red Wing academy, his brief introduction oozed arrogance and Pel was surprised, even he wouldn't be that arrogant.

Then there was Instructor Rob of Heaven's window, Instructor Clinton of Blue Oasis, Instructor Kris of Clear Mist, Instructor Hillary of Transcendents, Instructor Steven of Forever Pillar, Instructor Pugsley of Crystal Spring, Instructor Derek of Silent Warriors, Instructor Noah of Star Jumpers, Instructor Sam of Star Gates, Instructor Finn of Golden Pathways and Instructor Damien of Unbridled Will.

Before the sixth introduced himself, Pel had already zoned out.

They started talking about how each of their academies was the best and from all Pel heard the only difference in what they could offer was their reputation.

Red Wing for example had a very high reputation compared to the others.

After having a bit of understanding about the various academies, the young awakened started naming their choice.

"Which do you want to go for?" Adam whispered to the rest.

Tessa and Flora were still trying to make their choice while Pel shrugged, his only criteria was that they should at least have a lab and there was no way of finding out if or was there...

Pel stared at the twelve instructors who did not take their eyes away from him for one second. "Which one of your academies has a lab?"

The instructors were stumped by the question and could not answer for a while. They were not expecting such a question.

Seeing them go silent Pel reconstructed his words to make them understand. "I'll go to whichever academy that has a lab, not just any lab though, I want it spacious"
