154. Origin of the Vixen

- How was your day in Honolulu? - I asked, right after I found myself on the beach of a island where Grandpa, Gwen, Ashley and Kai had a late lunch.

- That was great. We explored the city, went shopping, went on a couple of excursions and saw a few sights. It was interesting and fun. - Ashley said enthusiastically.

- There is an unusual contrast in the city due to the fact that it is still a typical American metropolis, but at the same time it is located on the ocean in the tropics. It's weird, but interesting at the same time. - Gwen spoke up.

- Gwen is right, it was quite funny to see the white collars walking around in their suits while everyone else was walking around in t-shirts and shorts. Poor guys, they have to work in a literal paradise while everyone else is sunbathing on the beach and conquering the waves on surfers. - Kai said with a grin.

- Well, this is Hawaii, what else did you expect. A land of contrasts and all that. - I said, and then turned to Grandfather, who was silent all this time: - Well, what do you say?

- Don't leave me alone with them again if there's even a clothing store nearby. - said Grandfather wearily, who had to accompany the girls to the shops and be their porter of clothes.

'Looks like, despite everything that's happened, they're still just normal teenage girls...' - I looked at the girls, who were completely tortured the old man with their passion for shopping. At least they had the conscience to feel ashamed of it, judging by the averted eyes...

- Okay, you do what you want, and I'll go to rest. - Max said with a sigh, and went to the motor home.

Ashley was pleased with my words, and even Gwen smiled happily, although we still didn't understand our relationship. But Kai became very embarrassed, but at the same time she was still glad, although she herself did not know why.

In general, we still have a strange relationship. I kind of like her, but as long as this uncertainty remains with Gwen, I don't want to start a new relationship. Especially since we had little interaction with Kai, and we don't know each other very well yet. It is unlikely that we can be called someone more than just new acquaintances, not even friends.

To be honest, I still don't really trust her, at least not not as much as my family, and I don't know if I even want to deepen our relationship and lead it into a romantic direction. And the girl herself has not yet decided what to think of me, since everything that is happening now is new to her and she needs to get used to and acclimatize to the changes in life.

Plus, even though she doesn't show it, she still hasn't quite recovered from nearly drowning. She did not have any fear of water or wolves, but such an experience always leaves its mark and changes life very much. And I would not like to interfere with her, to overcome this.

- Do not you like it? - I asked, for some reason, really hard to bear that look. Only women know how to put pressure like that and make you feel guilty, even for no reason...

- Okay, I got out. I really like the way Vixen sounds. But for my costume to be the coolest. And orange. - said the girl, taking pity on me.

For some reason, all of the animals that Kai transforms into have an orange coat colour. Well, that makes her pseudonym even more meaningful.

- *GRRR* - turning into a lioness, the girl growled, and attacked me again, but obviously not as thoughtlessly as before.

Seeing that the attack failed, Kai turned into a falcon right in the air and flew into the air, dodging another telekinetic wave. Gaining speed, the girl began to dive down, and in the air she turned into a huge rhinoceros, clearly planning to crush me with her big carcass.

- You clearly have potential. - I sincerely praised the girl, who began to use her brain more and quickly adapt in battle.

It was clear from Kai's eyes that she was having a lot of fun right now, so we continued our little sparring further. Although I dominated all the time, I also liked it. For the first time, I fought with the same werewolf as me. It's an interesting experience.

Kai literally learned on the fly, so we did the same for the rest of the day, until our grandfather stopped us, since dinner was ready. I think, nevertheless, we have become closer with Kai, at least a little, and this is undoubtedly good.
