The Forest

At the campfire, I see Pandaya joking with Miira. What a pair. I roll my eyes. I've never had friends that I could joke around casually with as they all left me as soon as word about my father reached them. I don't really mind though… Or should I say that I've just gotten used to it? 

Pushing those thoughts aside, I greet them and ask, "Hey, have you heard about the task the Queen gave?"

Miira is the first to respond to me. "Yeah, she told me while you were training with Pandaya. Pandaya's in on it too!" 

I guess we're really doing this. "So, any thoughts on what to do first?" I ask.

"Yes, first we need to locate the source of the corruption by getting close enough to any part of the forest that is contaminated by darkness," Pandaya responds curtly. "We'll have you and I search different parts of the forest while using the tracking magic that Miira will cast. This is how we will know immediately if you are close to the source."
