"The mating ceremony is tomorrow! I'm excited for everyone. I wish I could have a mate," Zelina said as she worked the farms with Criselda.

It had been two weeks since Alanor had brought up the question of leaving and two weeks later, his guardians were still adamant about him staying close. They were worried about him, and this time, it wasn't because of what he would do.

They were worried because of what would happen to Alanor if they let him loose.

Alanor wasn't a prisoner, but he was something worse than a prisoner. He was an unpredictable child with anger issues and a thirst for revenge that made the universe crawl with fear, and that made him dangerous.

In those two weeks, he had insisted on helping around the house and their home, even when there was nothing to be done. He couldn't go to the blue house because it reminded him of the mate he had rejected in Acrod, and a reality he wasn't ready to face.
