Prosthetic Surgeon

"I'm really starting to think this academys more of a threat to my life then the grimm…" Arthur muttered, doing his best to ignore the crackle of lightning and explosions coming from down the hallway he and Weiss had come from.

Weiss grumbling about how they were Huntresses and that they should start acting like it, she turned to Arthur, anger in her eyes, "Why, just why, did you have to incite her!?" She complained, "Have you any idea how close I was to getting shot by a bolt of lightning!? You know Nora isn't exactly 'There' she's like a ticking time bomb! And you set her off!" she said, poking Arthur in the chest while Arthur held his hands up in surrender.

"In hindsight, yes, I really shouldn't have done that" he responded.

"You can say that again!" Weiss shouted, as Ms. Goodwitch stormed down the hall towards the dining hall.

"But, in all fairness, I had no idea she would go THAT far, I'm still trying to figure out where she got the climbing picks and the electric Morningstar from" Arthur responded, "Though, I do deserve the flak for setting her off" he said, scratching his cheek.

Weiss let out an annoyed growl and took a step back, "You owe me a new mug" she said, arms crossed, not giving Arthur any room to refuse her as she began to walk away.

"Fair enough" he muttered nodding his head and began to catch up to Weiss, "So, how you doing?" he asked, his voice soft and caring, as well as filled with worry for Weiss, who froze for a second before quickly continuing to walk.

"Fine…" she said, voice soft, almost to the point of being a mumble. "Apart from nearly being hit by a lightning bolt", she added, sending a dagger Arthur's way. While just behind them Glynda was rapidly walking, in her hands a smoking crow hanging by its feet, not putting any attempt to resist, it's wings just hanging down limply, it also sending a glare Arthur's way.

"But apart from that… I've been, fine? Confused, doubting myself, hoping everything I saw is just coincidental" she said, each word making her arms slump further and further, "who am I kidding… I feel like my world is falling apart…" she groaned, her arms now hanging lazily by her sides, her body soon following as she tilted forward, bags forming almost instantly under her eyes, seeming to have a months' worth of insomnia falling upon her all at once, her normal attitude having disappeared just as fast as the bags had appeared.

"I know how you feel, I've been there, just the cause was different" Arthur said, gently wrapping an arm around Weiss neck and gently pulling her into his chest to reassure her, "It… it took a while to get over it, it's never easy" he said, gently comforting her, "You'll get there sooner rather than later"

"How… was it like for you?" she asked.

Arthur removed his arm from Weiss beginning to think, "Well, I didn't exactly feel like the world around me was falling apart" he started, "When I was rescued from my kidnappers, I became paranoid, I couldn't trust anyone, constantly looking over my shoulders and keeping my distance from even children, It got to the point where I locked myself in my room at the orphanage, curtain closed twenty four seven, I didn't want to go anywhere for fear that they would find me and take me again" he said.

"Paranoia is a terrifying thing, it eats and eats but never gives back, the more you let it, the more it takes. For me, my paranoia was caused by people taking all my freedom and using me as a guinea pig for experiments, but for you, or at least where you're going, that is caused by something completely different, doubt, you are beginning to doubt who you are, who your family is, or at least your father. For me I doubted everyone around me, not the caretakers at the orphanage, my therapist or even the children in the orphanage" he explained, "Eventually, if you don't take any steps to stop it, you will begin to doubt those around you, you will notice the tiniest of details, they hold their pen like a knife, they speak to you with a slightly different tone then they do others, you'll see the pity in their eyes as if it was them pitying the little rat caught in their trap" Arthur indicated to his eyes, "It's… It's a truly terrifying ordeal"

"I don't feel paranoid? How does that make us similar?" she asked confusion in her voice.

"Are you sure?" he simply asked, but had completely silenced Weiss.

"I…"

"Well, looks like we're here" Arthur interrupted, stopping in front of his door, turning around to Weiss he bent over to get to her eye height, "Weiss, of everything I've learned over the last five years, bottling it up is never good, I bottled up everything that happened to me for years, I stewed in misery like a pressure pot over a hot flame, but I got lucky, I had someone come to me, she rescued me and brought me out of my cave kicking and screaming, and I couldn't be more grateful to her" he said, "But you, you are different, what I did out of fear and anxiety, you do out of kindness, you don't want to burden others, especially your team, out of everyone on your team you are the most composed person in the team, you do not want to burden them, so you bottle up your anxiety and lock it in a cabinet where they can't see" he said.

"I was able to relieve that pressure just a little bit when we spoke about this last time, but I am not the one who will break the bottle and let it all out, that… goes to you, Ruby, Yang and Blake, they are you're friends and they are your family, not by blood, but the bond of sisterhood" he said, a smile on his face as he raised his hand, placing it atop Weiss's hair, a small, almost unnoticeable smile forming on her face as her eyes closed, "When you are ready, talk to them, tell them everything, get their help and thoughts, they are the ones you trust the most, and they trust you just as much" he said, moving to give Weiss a hug as he wrapped his arms around her and gave her a tight squeeze.

While Weiss also brought her arms up, her hands hesitating for a moment but eventually also tightly squeezing Arthur, "I will… thank you" she whispered to him.

Grinning Arthur released her, "Good, now it's probably best for you to return to your room, I'm expecting an angry Summer the moment I open that door, and I honestly have no idea how far I'll fly or if I'll break any walls on the way" he said, cracking his neck, without the sound as he had come accustomed to.

Giggling Weiss walked to her room, opening the door before turning to Arthur and saying, "Good night" she said and quickly entered her room.

Looking at the door to his room he took a deep breath and began to loosen his already loose joints, hyping himself up to dodge whatever Summer was going to throw at him, "Well, it's now or never" he scanned his Scroll and opened his door, his breath soon taken away as he felt something tackle his stomach, yet not sending him hurtling backwards like he expected.

Confused Arthur looked down he eyes widening before a smile began to form on his face when he saw Fairy tightly hugging him, chuckling he began to gently stroke her hair, but his hand soon freezing as he realized something as he soon began to look around the room, his eyes first locking on his desk where he saw numerous metal parts and mechanical devices, then his eyes moved to Summer who had just stood up from the couch, wearing a light red vest covered in numerous dark smudges, as well as also wearing a pair of long, black, stretchy pants, around her waist a brown tool belt. A bright smile on her face with a little bit of black grease on her cheek, besides the couch a folded up wheelchair.

Looking back to Fairy Arthur quickly grabbed her shoulders and pulled her off himself, pushing her back slightly, his eyes falling to her two legs, "Fairy…" he muttered his smile getting wider and wider as he inspected the dark brown and silver leg she was standing on, starting from the thigh a brown, wooden socket where her stump was resting, just under that a thick metal pole which quickly changed into a rotator where her knee would be, the rotator turning as Fairy bounced up and down on her new leg.

Another rotator at the where her ankle would be on the second pylon, which lead into a small wooden foot, which released a 'clunk' every time it landed back on the wooden floor of the room. Arthur quickly kneeled down picking up Fairy in the tightest hug her could do as he swung her side to side, "You got a new leg!" he screamed as Fairy began to laugh happily wrapping her arms around Arthur's neck to stop herself from slipping out of his grasp, not that Arthur'd let her judging by how tight Arthur was hugging her.

Arthur eventually releasing her when she began to let out Fairy squeaks meaning, she was starting to feel a little crushed, "When did you get it?" he asked turning to Summer, "How did you even make it that fast, and it moves so smoothly!" he said as Fairy began to run around the room a bright smile on her face at being able to finally walk again.

"We actually just put it on a few minutes ago, I've been working on it all day" Summer explained, "Having a speed semblance is really useful for this type of stuff, would have gotten it done sooner, but I didn't want to rush it and make something shod-!?" she was interrupted as Arthur quickly wrapped his hands around her hips and brought her in for a kiss.

Summer's eyes widened in surprise for a moment before shutting as she soon began to enjoy it and put her own effort in, all while Fairy hid behind the couch watching them with a bright smile on her face.

"So much for wanting to talk to you about that" Arthur muttered pulling apart from her, Summer seemingly not willing as her head seemed to follow him for a moment, "When did you make it?" he asked pulling Summer onto the couch as he sat down next to her, both watching as Fairy bounced around.

"I didn't make anything complex, she's still growing, so we can just replace parts as she gets older, it's also got a nerve sensor in it which connects to the two rotator joints, and once she gets older we can get her a more permanent one" she explained, letting her head rest atop his shoulder.

"I never knew you could make legs" Arthur chuckled after a few minutes.

"I was really into biology and robots when I was younger, one thing led into another and I ended up taking prosthetic surgeon lessons before attending Beacon" she explained.

"Prosthetic… Surgeon…" Arthur slowly said, full taking in the gloriousness that was, Summer Rose, the Prosthetic Surgeon.

"Yeah… it's really just an engineer that specializes in making prosthetics, surprisingly, it was a two day course, there's really not too much different from making a leg and a mechashifting sword, only difference being joints and measurements as well as the addition of nerve sensors and Neuro-transmitters, though those are in the more advance courses"

"You, are amazing you know that?" he said giving Summer a quick peck on the lips.

"Aye!" Fairy shouted jumping onto Summer and Arthur, soon beginning to giggle as they both quickly grabbed her to stop her from rolling off them.
