Chapter 30: Training arc has been skipped

Tornado: Allows the user to create powerful winds that can slice apart anything they touch and protect themselves in a wind sphere.

Sunshine: Allows the user to create and manipulate a minimized sun.

Boom* Boom* Boom*

As dozens of miniature suns hit the brown soil, they created enough explosions that wrecked every single puppet in seconds.

I then flew in the air and materialized a light spear. I closed my eyes and then switched back the grace.

'Switch to Flash.'

Just after waiting for a whole minute, I changed my grace from [Sunshine] to [Flash].

I then aimed at the enemy puppet and teleported behind it.

The puppet ran few inches before its upper body started to slip from the lower body before finally falling to the ground.

I smirked and then repeated the same with other enemy puppets, cutting and destroying all 100 puppets in just 3 minutes.

I nodded with satisfaction before flying towards Gabriel who was examining my display of total destruction.

"How was it, Lady Gabriel?" I asked with total confidence in my phenomenal combat abilities.

I was pretty sure that devils will leak in their pants when they would soon witness the true dominance. Well, they will not likely survive long though.

"Still 8 out of 10." She puffed a sighed.

"Wait, why?" I was sure that I didn't leave any puppet alive or functioning and made sure I completed the task 2 minutes before.

"look at the mess you created." She pointed at huge craters that formed on the ground with the heat still surging from it.

"I didn't see any problem…"

"Sigh* Then what do you think other angels would do? Leaving those carcasses?"

"It is not our problem. I say we should feed their dead bodies to other creatures in the underworld and help them grow instead of those filthy devils."

I still had no idea why we should even consider their value at all. For me, they were just insects that I had to clean as soon as possible as long as I am alive and in my prime.

Let me give you a little recap and skipping through the boring training chapter.

For the past year, I trained like crazy to the point that I jumped from Tier 3 to Tier 4 without any difficulty.

First is my [Heavenly Eyes] that is now Rank A where I could now see several possibilities at the same time. It didn't have any limit now as I could see the future almost any time but it does cost my mana which is to see something up to 5 minutes. I can see the future, in the same way, as before aka lines so I started to call them Possibility Lines. These PLs turned blue when I am attacking and red when someone is attacking me.

[Full Counter] can now reflect magic attacks too just like Melodious. However, my full counter still lacks as it was not near the level of Chandler where he could even reflect Merlin's magic attack. Although I could return any attack, I had to have a full understanding of the type of magic, or else [Full Counter] will not work.

Then it is turn about my Grace, my only weak point where I was still having difficulty dealing with.

As Rank D, it used to take a whole minute from switching one Grace to another!

[Flash] could only work in a single direction. It means that I couldn't move my limbs while using [Flash]. It is just a way of high-speed movement where I could only move after setting starting and ending points. I didn't know how I used it when I was ~torturing~ Francois but now it is difficult to properly use it.

Then [Sunshine] is my strongest grace. I could now spam Cruel Sun multiple times without any difficulty. Although it can only be called bombing as the scale of explosions was small.

[Tornado] and [Ocean] were still a little unexplored since they engage more in defense rather than offense like creating water shields or making small tornados.

That was it.

I also learn a little bit about history.

Lucifer, Chief Demon of the four Demon Kings, was previously an angel with a similar story explain in Holy Book. He was once the most loved child adored by everyone. He also had many qualities but as time went by he was consumed by pride which led him to his downfall from haven.

Now this story is all I have heard but the real question is why God left him alive?

First, it was the plan that he would rule out sinners in hell while souls with good deeds join the heaven but now, he is not only consuming souls to enhance his strength but also abducting live innocent humans in the underworld.

So now that push comes to shove when Lucifer's conspiracies led to the deaths of not only the beloved child Jeanne but also my mother Eliza, he decided to answer the war.

But the question that arises here is, what God is thinking to let all of this happen?

According to Gabriel, among all gods of other pantheons that exist, ONE is considered the strongest who could turn the whole world upside down in just a minute.

Why ONE didn't end the devil race?

Even if Gabriel and Michael asked this question once, God only answer "What I see, you cannot see."

At the end of the day, he was a God who thinks for humanity as a whole. After the age of Christ, he was supposed to stop the age where angels can openly reveal themselves, it stopped when Eliza descended from heaven to help Jeanne.

Gabriel also taught me about manners and I should respect every race without bearing any hatred, meaning that I should not treat the devil as garbage.

But it was my limit. Even though I can comprehend everything, my kindness ended as long as any devil is concerned.

So I refused to pay them any value as long as I am alive. I already had a goal; either they survive or I die.

"I guess you passed the test then." Gabriel sighed and smiled.

It meant that I was now eligible to participate in the war on frontlines.

"Yes! Thanks, Lady Gabriel!" I jumped with joy.

I really wanted to nestle my head in her fun jugs but I didn't want to enter into a relationship neither do I had any intention to fall from God's grace for time being.

If I fall here, I would lose my biggest patron and work with Azazel? It was out of the question since they were just participating in war to obtain war spoils.

Besides, I vowed to be loyal to heaven for Eliza and Jeanne.

"Then let me make you some pastries. You will love it." I smiled and held her hand and lead her to a lone house in the middle of nowhere.

"Hehe, you are way excited about it~." Gabriel chuckled cutely that my heart almost burst out of my chest.

'Control, Mael if you don't want to lose another horn!'

I calmed myself not to get excited.

I respect Gabriel.

As a teacher, she was a strict woman who would sometimes rip my wings or horn apart if I annoy her with a kind smile on her face.

So I didn't dare to comment about her boobs anymore although I was still curious as to why ONE made her boobs too enormous.

Anyway, outside as a teacher, she treated me like her niece. I didn't know if she has already fallen in love with me but I was sure that sooner or later she will confess her love since no one can escape my handsomeness and angelic charms.

Cough*

I then made some pastries while she prepared the table for the tea ceremony.

Another reason I respect her was that she brew tea best. I remembered I fell into tears when I first tasted the tea she prepared.

We then sat down at a table and went to enjoy our last tea party in this void.

"Ah~ this tea is just best. I wonder if you are secretly a goddess of tea." I took a sip and asked the beautiful lady sitting in front of me.

"Nope but I am an angel for sure." She chuckled and then her lips curved a cold smile, "And you can stop staring at my breasts."

"Cough* I was not. My eyes just happened to fell there."

No seriously! How can they jiggle like that?! Is God testing me to fell from grace?! Is DxD world is all about big boobs?

"Anyway… Lady Gabriel, about my request…?" I earnestly asked this time.

"Sigh* Mael, I still have no idea why do you insist on learning human magic?" She sighed and asked.

Another prospect that makes devils different from angels is that their demonic powers are very versatile. They didn't need proper chant or casting but just imagination and the phenomenon will incur.

As for angels, our patron God provides everything that we didn't need to rely on anything.

Just look at this training ground, ONE created such a place in a matter of seconds without even need to ask including those training puppets.

But for me, I had to be prepared. Even after facing so many tragedies, I knew that I was still in a hurry and arrogant to kill devils but in order to do so, I may fell victim to them that could lead to a potential threat.

For that purpose, I wanted to at least understand some magic for my survivability.

And since I had a human soul, I found out that I could learn human magic and who would be the best candidate than the creator of the human magic system himself?

"I just want to have a backup plan. Besides, if God permits then there has to be a reason to it." I answered.

For the time I spend with God, I knew that he was a being who would only move if there is a meaning behind it and if God allows me to learn human magic then there has to be an event that I will face which will lead me other possibilities.

"Fine then." She nodded and then took out a golden key from her space storage. "It will teleport you to Avalon where he is located. He will admit you as his student if you state your relationship with God."

She looked a little troubled sending me to that certain mage since the human magic system is disliked by heavens for some reason.

"Thanks!" I took the golden key and was about to teleport when she stopped me.

"You are forgetting something."

I scratched my head with an embarrassed face before walking towards her, bent down a little, and kissed her on her cheek.

"Just say that you have fallen in love with me!" I scratched my hair with rosy cheeks.

It was bullying when she asked for a forced kiss like that. I knew she had fallen in love with me but I already told her that I was still loyal to my wife and she should only appreciate my beauty and charm from distance only.

"Fufu~ Yes, I have always loved you from the bottom of my heart~." She chuckled and calmly confessed.

'Is that a real confession?'

I was confused since her expression didn't change much.

She is one crafty woman.

Anyway, I bid farewell and went out of the house.

Next location, Avalon, the fairy utopia and place where the creator of the human magic system is residing, Merlin Ambrosius.

(3rd person's POV)

When the child left, Gabriel began to turn red until her whole face was crimson red.

"Fuah!~ Did I just confess to him?!"

Even though she managed to make a poker face, it was still the fact that she even confessed to another angel.

Mael was the only angel who 'grew' like a child under her care. But then he followed tragedies after tragedies and still somehow remained loyal to heaven even after knowing that God didn't provide much help when he was going through.

This made a strong appreciation on Gabriel, one of the strongest and only female Seraphs in Heaven. She did love Mael but as a niece or as an angel of the opposite sex with the hope of marrying someday, she didn't know.

Mael is a big narcissist who loves to brag enough that people even believe in his charms being the best in the world. So maybe it was the effect of his big mouth.

"Mael, it is still early for you to join the war but… I guess it's fine…"

Her smile was then replaced by graveness when she sensed that Mael will face some failures in the future.

As an angel who lived for a millennium, she knew about human growth and could easily predict the result of their actions.

"I hope for him to achieve his happiness."

She smiled and prayed for his happiness to live with his wife in the future, if possible.

But…

'Why is my heart aching…? Weird, maybe… I should let him at least see my bare breast….'

She also wondered why God even made angels in genders when he was the one creating them directly and why did he make their breasts so big?

Curious but questions for later as she had to leave for war.
