Life in hell mode was never fun? Was it? *********** Being burned alive in a laboratory out of sheer jealousy for he had created the best AI system in the medical world? Oh boy, Damien could assure you that it was not fun. But then again, you never get another chance to feel the slow burn—okay that went dark quickly. Lets take it from the top once again. Damien was sure he had angered someone up in the sky and given his foul mouth that hurled curses worse than a sailor he had very good idea of how it happened. Because if being abandoned in the orphanage was not bad enough, he was stabbed by the very mentor he trusted and followed with closed eyes. But when he found himself waking up in another world— even after death he was not left alone. SMH. The world of beastmen —— he realised that he never knew how difficult hell mode truly was. Surviving in the world of beasts was a challenge in itself. And for Damien who found himself in the body of the discarded crown prince of the Brystoria Empire—With a broken nucleus and mana suppressed by Tartarite nails and used as a weapon of humiliation, it was not a challenge. For Damien, survival in the beast world was like walking on a thin rope, that too on one foot! Fortunately, the AI system that Damien developed as a doctor before his death followed him to this world of beasts. Join Damien in his new quest as he overturns his destiny from being a slave to the king of beasts.
'Let's not startle that snake,' Damien thought as he returned his attention to Wistoria who was rather sensibly waiting for him to speak.
"Then I want the status to be removed at least in Aeloria," Damien wasn't greedy for fame. All he wanted was to live a decent and comfortable life having lived a life of nothing but struggle in the past.
Of course, he wanted to save the lives of people as a doctor.
In his past life, William asked him to pay more attention to the AI system that he was creating and did not let him work too much at the front line.
Back in those days, Damien foolishly thought William was looking out for him. Only now that he had died, did he realise that William actually wanted to keep his skills hidden lest he outshone him.
'No wonder Patrick (his best friend in the past world) said that I was blind. This was what he meant — I blindly trust some really shady people!' Damien sighed and shook his head dejectedly.
"You are asking too much," Wistoria didn't say anything as she had her head lowered and seemed to be lost in thought. It was Xavier who spoke.
With a frown on his face, he said to Damien, "If we were to give you the freedom and respect a common person deserves, we would attract the ire of the Royal family."
"Have you not already?" Damien questioned innocently.
… caw~
"Fine," Wistoria finally spoke up.
"Lady Wistoria!" Xavier turned around and looked at her with a startled expression.
Wistoria ignored him and said to Damien, "If you save my brother, I will make sure that you are given the respect that you deserve but…" she paused and narrowed her eyes at the obnoxious man. "If you fail in saving my brother then you might as well be prepared to lose your life."
Even though she did not trust Damien, Wistoria had no choice other than to ask for his help as he was the only one who seemed to be aware of the problem.
And as for the demands that he had made, Wistoria was not as shameless as to ignore them. She was the one who threw Damien in prison without proper investigation and her own biased attitude.
If Damien truly only wanted to save her brother then her actions were rather conscienceless.
A proper apology was something that Damien deserved.
Thus, there was nothing wrong with giving him the respect he was asking for—
'Not to mention saving my brother's life when none of the healers could is a great matter of importance,' thought Wistoria.
But this was only when Damien saved the life of her brother.
She raised her gaze and met with Damien's smiling one. The man had at some moment come to a stand in front of her and was now looking at her.
He cheekily grinned and remarked, "My wife is making a request from me so politely. How can I refuse her?"
Wistoria's cheeks flushed red upon hearing his flirtatious words. She said to him, "I don't appreciate your insolent actions, lord Damien."
"Hmm, well it's fine as long as you appreciate my medical skills," Damien smilingly remarked. He turned to look at the two men and said to the guard, "Now are you going to open the gates of this prison cell or are you going to bring the patient here?"
The guard snapped out of his daze. He looked at Wistoria and then turned his gaze at Damien.
Why was this man still alive? The last time a man had tried to flirt with Wistoria, he lost his tongue and yet Lady Wistoria let this man off so easily?
Was it because she needed his help? That must be it. If not this imprudent man would have certainly died, thought the guard to himself.
However, he kept his curiosity to himself and opened the lock of the prison cell.
"Let us go," said Damien. "We have a patient to treat."

An hour later Damien was standing by Nicolas's bed and carefully examining his wound.
"Why did you bring him here?" Gilderoy asked his daughter and Xavier. He had no respect for Damien as he was a burden pushed on the head of the Wolfe family to humiliate them.
Not only was his beast nucleus broken, but he was unskilled in swordsmanship and was a man who only knew how to read useless books on medicine and herbs despite not awakening as a healer.
"He was the one who told me that no matter how many heals the healer uses, they would not be able to heal Nicolas," Wistoria answered her father with a calm expression, though she was panicking inside as well.
She hoped that Damien could treat her brother because he was their last hope.
"Did he say that?" Gilderoy was surprised by the words that his daughter said, he narrowed his eyes and asked, "Are you certain? He could be lying." Damien was Emiliano's brother. Who knows that this could be a chance to assassinate his eldest son?
"We have to just wait and see what is going on," Wistoria sighed and stated.
Xavier who stood behind his masters carefully assessed Damien. His eyes were devoid of any warmth. Though he was the one who begged Wistoria, he too had little trust in Damien.
'Let's see whether you can do what you claimed, Lord Damien,' he thought while rubbing the back of his palm. If this man dared to harm Nicolas, he would kill him with his claws.
Doesn't matter if he would have to hand his head in exchange for killing a member of the royal family.
[Activating Eye of observation.]
Damien's eyes turned a brilliant shade of gold as soon as the observation skill was activated. He glanced at the wound which seemed to have been infected and his face changed slightly.
'So this is where the problem lies huh?' Damien thought as he finished studying the wound of Nicolas.
"Examination completed," No sooner did he finish X raying the wound, Dan announced next to his ear. "You need the Blood of Goblins, Slipheather and Bunglemint to treat this wound."
[Goal activated: Create a cleansing ointment.]
