PARTING WAYS

This was a comical sight as all the animals held different expressions on their faces as they listened to the lesson carefully while orderly arranged. They resembled elite students rather than animals.

Xiao who had hidden back in Ye Chen's body telepathically chuckled at this cool scene.

"Well, this is the epitome of audacity and brazenness… am impressed, what can I say!"

Soo-Jin had a serious expression on her face as she delved into matters of the rules the animals had to follow, the security details, their contribution to her kingdom, behavioral conduct, and another bunch of boring staff.

Most of these animals were already bored as they were snoring away in secret while looking out once in a while to have an understanding f what was happening just in case they were later asked to say something.

She would throw things at them once in a while to smack the sleeping lazy ones to which they would just pretended as if they were not asleep some moments ago.

Ye Chen laughed out loud on seeing this.

Hundreds of eyes turned towards him looking at him with contempt while sneering at him as if saying, "Puny human, what is there to laugh, you think this is funny, haa?"

"Eeh, brother Ye is back, class is dismissed babies. Let's meet tomorrow?" The animals rushed away with relieved expressions, sitting on their butts for such long hours with a boring speech was too hurtful for them to bear with.

"Hello, Soo-Jin, how have you been?" Ye Che greeted her immediately after approaching her. He had missed this beast language for the past few days.

"Ahem, am doing well I guess. I knew brother Ye would survive, look at how comfy and dashing you look, those little insects did not hurt you, right?" She asked him as she scrutinized him to see if he survived that bee massacre.

"Hehehe, those small insects can't hurt me, I see you are cool and posh as well…"He said this but he was too embarrassed to think of that moment, it was too humiliating.

'Small, how can you say small insects, you don't know, you don't know...'

"Since you are okay, I bet you came to say goodbye, right?" She directly changed her tone to melancholy.

"Yeah, I've to go and search for my family, I hope we shall meet again…"

"Well, this is too sudden but it is okay, am cool with it. I guess the next time we meet I shall be having a mighty palace here, I'll indulge you that day, don't forget to come…" She too felt some sadness as she was reluctant to let him go but there was nothing she could do about it.

'I guess I've made a new friend, hope we shall see each other again…'

She was lost in her thoughts as she reminisced over the short moments they had shared with Ye Chen.

Ye Chen was lost in thought too as he liked it here more than the outside destroyed world, it was quite peaceful and tranquil here.

Interacting with animals, talking in the beast language, and the eccentric straightforward Soo-Jin was fun and refreshing.

But he really had to go out and look for his family as well as gain more strength.

Soo-Jin broke their silence after a while, "Brother Ye, I prepared a small gift for you, hope you shall like it…"

She rushed inside before coming out with a small bundled package made with wood and some palm leaves.

"Soo-Jin, what is this?" He never expected her to give him a parting gift but it would surely be a good thing.

"Just don't open it for now, open it later when you are far away from here…" She said while lowering her head in embarrassment.

"Aah, okay then, I guess we shall part ways for now, but I don't have a gift for now, maybe next time…"

"Okay then take care of yourself, we shall meet again if fate permits…"

With a few pleasantries, they parted ways.

Xiao telepathically conveyed his thoughts to Ye Chen after a while, "She is not simple at all. She seems rather different than when I first saw her…"

"Xiao, how is she different?" He too was not sure but she gave him that kind of mystery vibe and profound feeling that seemed rather elusive.

"Do you see how she seemed different than last time, she was not as talkative as before, otherwise you would still be back there listening to her boring speech…"

"I felt that too but what has that got to do with being different, she was just sad probably…" He felt it was normal for her as she was used to interacting with animals and met a human for the first time yet he left just as he arrived.

"Well, don't freak out when I say this but, her information has been wiped out of my database, she is not that simple the way I see it…"

"Wait! What! How is that possible?" Xiao was an entity created by the power of ether, how could information be wiped out that easily?

"She clearly has a strong background for them to wipe out her information, they seem to be protecting her from something or maybe she could have done it herself, I guess."

Ye Chen too felt that way as it was strange for her to survive all these years alone in the woods.

But he did not think too much of it as it would not involve him that much anyway.

His thoughts were on how to strengthen himself and then look for his sister and dad before he found a way to repair this broken world then settle down and have some fun.

But he was happy to make a friend like her, probably the first friend in this world.

The River Village did not have many kids of his age and would mostly spend his time with his twin sister.

He was glad that Xiao was around to keep him company for these past few days, otherwise, it would have been too boring to walk all alone on this journey.

"Xiao, we should we go for now?" He asked after a while.

"We had planned to go to the poles but that is way too far. I guess we can join some group around here for now as we think of a better choice…"

"I guess am good with that, let's go then…"

Wit that, man and his system embarked on a new adventure to explore the world.
