GREAT LESSON

Just as he was about to go on, he heard some lesson going on in one of the halls around.

It was more of a philosophical teaching class.

"What is our mission here, anybody?" The middle-aged man who was at the front asked the teens who were seated before him.

Most of them raised their hands while some seemed to be in deep thought thinking of something to say.

"Yes Jimmy, what do you have to say?" He pointed out to some skinny kid in a corner who had an enthusiastic look on his face.

"I think we are here to save the world from destruction, right?" He said as if stating the obvious, many nodded to this.

"Well, sounds like a good trial but no! Anybody else?" The 'teacher' asked again but no one had a valid response this time.

"Mm-hmm, I thought so. Let me then tell you why we are all here. You are not wrong to say we are trying to save the world but still wrong regardless."

"Here is the thing, we are not some kind of special entities to save the world. Don't you find it too entity far-fetched. We are here for one purpose, to have something at the end before we die, which means we offer you some kind of asylum, protecting you from the harsh reality so that you might be enlightened not to repeat what our ancestors did."

"Saving the world is easier but the main thing here is conserving it and making it prosper. Otherwise, what is the need to save a world that will repeat what happened years before?"

"We brought you here to instill into you, maturity of reasoning, rationality in assessment of situations and sobriety of thinking. What I mean to say is we want you to be critical thinkers rather than some kids who just follow the flow of established thoughts of the previous persons before us! You will have to think for yourself the moment you step in here and make proper critical judgement in an autonomous way."

"We need open minded people and not some warriors who are ready to risk their lives for something that may not be achieved even in the next coming millennia or even amount to anything useful."

"You wanting to save this world is like wanting to establish world peace. That is more than impossible. But I don't criticize you on this because you are thinking for humanity, but are you being genuine in saying you want to save the world or just saying?"

"What do you think is the relevance of saving this already dystopian world? If you don't have a reason to, then you are threading on a very wrong dangerous path."

"Yes, it is possible to save this world but not alone. And I mean us, not one individual. This world can only be saved if everyone is united and come together as one."

"That might not happen as those Elites see themselves above everything."

"You are too young to understand these things, but just know that we bring you here to give you a hope and ignite your mind to see the straight path and do what you deem as relevant and logical."

"Let us proceed tomorrow guys…"

"What the hell is this guy saying? Mm, wait! He does seem right to some point, right? Like why would I even waste my time trying to save the world that will destroy itself again, unless I make sure that everyone is united, hehehe. Am really stupid to think that I could save this world."

"What is the need to anyway. Am not some kind of a deity that these people depend on, right?"

"Maybe I should just focus more on my development rather than thinking of saving the world, ah, this thoughts are really challenging!"

"But if I by chance, if mark that, I become powerful. Should I help or just sit there?"

"Mm, I might die just like last time if I continue to think of this matter. Maybe I should just adapt to this new world and just be me! Too bad I did not take my philosophy classes very seriously, otherwise I would not be having this kind of thoughts, mmh, let me just forget it and train first. Focus Ye Chen! Focus!"

He talked to himself as he thought of this matter. This were some of the things holding him back in his training.

If he had just focused from the first day he activated the system, he might have already advanced beyond and far ahead rather than he being still just a normal kid here.

But at least, hey, he had fallen in love. That was a good thing for him for the current him as he had someone who might offer him some emotional support and give him some push here and there.

Walking down the paths, he made his way back to where Cheyenne and her baroness were having a chat. He wanted to meet this Mother Elysia and see if she would accommodate him.

'Phew, this is like meeting my in-laws, I never met them in my previous life but come on, am like, no am sixteen, wouldn't she think am too young. Ah, probably not, let me just see what she might have for me!'

He breathed a sigh of relief as he knocked onto the steel door while steeling himself for what might come.

Well, not an easy thing to meet in-laws for the first time I guess.
