The Hunter

David was on the hunt, after confirming the whom the DNA belonged to. He wasn't familiar with Gotham's underworld anymore. He had been gone far too long. But if there was anything, David figured was still the same, it was that crime still had a face, many faces. And one such face was none other than Oswald Cobblepot.

" There's no one in Gotham that values information as much as he does. If there's anyone who can tell me where Whelan is, it's him." David muttered. He loaded his pistols and then holstered them. Time to pay the Penguin a visit." David muttered. David exited his apartment, via the skylight, so that no one would be able to see him coming or going.

David moved along the dark of night, jumping from rooftop to rooftop, using the shadows as cover.

His target was one of the most renown clubs in Gotham. The iceberg lounge, a giant lounge in the city shaped like an iceberg, and themed after the north itself. A spectacle for the wealthy. A distraction to hide the Penguins illegal operations. Needless to say.

" I'm not impressed." David muttered.

The club was surrounded by guards on, all sides, even though it is closed.

" Penguin must be inside. I need to find a way in. The direct approach would draw too much attention, and the side doors look to be just as heavily guarded as the front and back. So, if I can't make the groundwork, then I'll just go higher." David hopped from the rooftop of the smoke shop he was standing on and jammed his two knives into the side of the Iceberg lounge's side wall. He then proceeded to climb to the very top of the building.

Once at the top David ran to the skylight. The glass window had a pad lock on it, keeping the door to the skylight from being slid open. But that didn't stop David. He raised his metal arm into the air and slammed it down on the lock, smashing it right off the hinge. David then slid the hatch open and jumped down into the storage room. He was now inside the Iceberg lounge.

David opened the door to storage room and peered out into the hallway. There were cameras on nearly every wall of the building, covering nearly each and every angle.

David took out Two of his knives, he only needed to get the camera's covering the door out of the way.

With a knife in each hand, David peaked out of the door, just barely enough so that he could see the cameras, and then he threw the knives with enough force to pierce through the cameras, destroying them. David slipped out of the storage room, and quickly recovered his two knives, going back and forth across the room, to grab each knife, before doing the same to cameras on the next floor.

With no way to be seen, other by guards, David quickly made his way to Penguin's office. It wasn't hard to find, the small potbellied bastard had a way of showing off, that made him stick out like a sore thumb. David kicked open, the office door with his guns drawn, but when he looked around. No one was there.

" Hey! Who's there?!" A guard heard the sound of the Penguin's door being kicked open and went to check out the sound of the noise.

David slipped into office and hid behind the giant wooden doors.

The poor young man noticed that the Penguins large wooden doors were open. He took a deep breath and then after a moment of hesitation, he walked into the office. At first things seemed normal. the man looked around and saw nothing but an empty office. But as he got closer to the Penguins desk, something suddenly poked him in the back of his head.

" That's a 429 DE, packing .50 caliber bullets pointed on the back of your head. Don't turn around, don't make a noise unless I tell you too, and don't lie to me. Got it, shake your head yes." David whispered.

The young man felt the barrel of the gun directly on the back of his blonde hair. He was panicked, sweating. He felt his heart beating so fast; he thought it would jump out of his chest. He had only signed on for this job because he needed the money. He didn't want to die for nothing, so he did as he was told and nodded.

" Good. Now, where's Penguin?" David asked the man.

" I don't know."

" Don't lie to me." David told the man.

" I'm not. The boss left earlier, said something about having a meeting with a new client. That's all I know. I just signed on man, I'm only here for night security. That's it." The guard spoke.

" Is that right? well, then. I'm gonna need to deliver a message." David told the man.

" Yeah, sure man. Anything."

David reached one of his hands over and placed a note in the man's hand and then he whacked the man on the back of his head, with enough force to drop him.

" You got lucky kid, better get out while you got the chance." David said to the unconscious man. " Looks like Penguins out. So, since he's out. I'll help myself. Need to give him a reason to show up." David muttered.

David approached Penguins desk and began shifting through its contents.

The man was certainly confident in his security, as he left quite a load of money just sitting in briefcases in his desk.

" He won't miss this." David grabbed the cases from the desk and smirked. He needed the money, and he couldn't return to Arkham for some time. " At least now, I won't have to worry about money for a bit. Within moments, David made off with at least five hundred thousand dollars.

" It's not much compared to what he has in his banks. But if I know Penguin, he's not gonna like someone stealing his money. Hope you make it through the night kid" David muttered. He looked.

...............

The next morning, when Penguin came into his lounge, the security guards informed the man of what had happened, and needless to say, he was not happy.

" FUCKING PISS! I hired you stupid fucks to watch my place for one fucking night! And the night I leave some new piss ass freak shows up and steals my money?! I should have you all killed. But I don't the bad press right now. So, all of you are fired! get the hell out my lounge. And you, give me that damn note!" Penguin yelled. he quickly dismissed the night staff, and then took the note that was left for him.

" The Docks at twelve."

" So, you wanna play games do ya? Alright. Let's play games."
