Meeting the Splatoon - Chapter 2

Agent 3 handed me a soft white sweatshirt, green shorts, and an orange bandana to wear for when we leave to get my new phone. "This should not attract too much attention to your test clothes, we might have to get you clothes after we check into the Splatoon," she said, straightening my bandana, moving my tentacle a small bit. As she fitted her white headband, I fixed my tentacle to where I was comfortable, I looked over at her duffle bag she was going to bring, where her suit and weapon lay within. Her suit did smell a bit, I was glad that the clothes she gave me were freshly washed last night. "Ready to go Octavian?" she asked, patting my shoulder, I looked down at her and nodded to her, she took my hand and led me out of her home. We left the building and down a sidewalk, many other housing buildings and food-stands with many Inkling wearing casual clothing, I even saw young Inklings, still in their half-squid half-anthropomorphic form. It was quite weird seeing everyone so calm, I was never fully calm, not even on the train I felt completely calm, and even now, I was close to on edge. But it felt easier to lower my guard, I was with Agent 3, and people were very friendly, I felt like I could be calm.

It didn't take long before we ended up in a Square-like area of the city, there was a large tower in front of us, stores of each side to the Square, and two alleys, one that leads to some shady place, and the other to the metro, but it seemed to be closed and sponsored by Off the Hook, I was glad that they closed that place off, Sanitized Octarians were bad enough. There was also a truck where people were getting food from it, it was a strange sight, but the creature inside greeted Agent 3 and I warmly. There was a spiky-haired kid with super sea snails next to him, once he saw us, he hopped to his feet and put away his device. "Well isn't it my favorite chump," he said, "Hey Murch, how's business?" Agent 3 asked him, putting her hand on her hip, I just watched from behind. "Good, next splatfest is comin' soon, so I'm being patient," he said, what was a splatfest? "Here for that phone you ordered?" he asked, Agent 3 nodded as he took out a device, looking similar to a CQ-80 device, but had the resemblance of a squid's head, the color was also pink. "Hey, who's the chump behind you?" he asked as he handed Agent 3 the device, I was confused about who he was talking about, "Someone I found," she said, "He's new to Inkopolis," she added, now I knew who they were talking about. "Good luck," he said to me as Agent 3 handed me the device, or phone as they called it, I nodded to him as Agent 3 grabbed my hand again and led me to a sewer grate. "Don't tell anyone, but this is the way to the Outpost," Agent 3 whispered to me, I nodded as she went into her squid form and slid through the metal, I went into my octopus form and followed suit.

I hopped out the other side to see Agent 3 being hugged tightly by a yellow Inkling, wearing a similar outfit to her suit. There were also two Inklings sitting on a bench, laughing at Agent 3, one wore a kimono while the other wore a pink hoodie. I couldn't help but laugh a bit, she was calm a minute ago, and the moment I entered the Outpost, she's already mad. "4!! Get off me!" Agent 3 yelled, trying to pry off the Inkling, but despite her strength, she didn't look to be getting far with her venture. "4, please let go of 3, we still need her for patrol," the white-haired kimono wearing Inkling asked, the yellow Inkling then let go and hopped over to the two Inklings and sat down in the middle of them. "Do that again and I'll spat you," Agent 3 snarled, the Inkling just rolled her eyes, "Hey! Is that the Octoling you found in the metro!?" The black-haired hoodie-wearing Inkling asked, sounding both excited and surprised. "Yeah, it is. Where's Cuttlefish?" Agent 3 asked, I too wondered where the Captain was, he did say we would meet up again. "He said that he wanted to chat with a guy down in the subway, someone along the lines of Padre," the White Inkling said, "Iso Padre?" I asked, the isopod that wanted my mem-cakes, "Yes, I think that's right," she said. "Anyway! I'm Callie!" The black-haired Introduced herself, running up to me and holding out her hand, "It is being the pleasure to meat you," I said, shaking her hand, I heard snickering from the yellow Inkling, the white-haired Inkling elbow punched her, "Callie" giggled a bit too, although I was confused on what they were laughing at. "What?" I asked, "Nothing! It's just your way of speaking is a bit...off," Callie said, she seemed to be careful with her words, "And I'm Marie," the white-haired Inkling introduced herself, holding out her hand while holding her umbrella with the other. I shook hers as I saw the yellow Inkling coming over, but being stopped by Agent 3 by grabbing the hoodie of her suit. "And this is Agent 4," Agent 3 said, pointing her hand at the struggling Inkling, I waved to the Inkling as she tried prying Agent 3's hand open. "Let's just say Agent 3 and 4 have a sibling relationship, even though they're just co-workers," Marie whispered into my ear, although because of my height, she had to go on her toes to whisper to me. "Well! We're happy to have you join the new Squidbreak Splatoon!" Callie said excitedly, I smiled at her, I was happy to be a part of the Splatoon as well. "Oh, by the way, do you have a phone?" Marie asked, I nodded, pulling out my new phone to show them, "Mind if we have you download an app?" Callie asked, "Squidstigram?" I asked, they were surprised by my answer, I just looked over at Agent 3. She gave an "I told you so" look, I just chuckled a bit, I think I'm going to love working for the Squidbreak Splatoon.
