70 Challenging Ilnora's Hamlet(End)

Tera Masters, Body Practitioners, Weapon Wielders and Energy Manipulators.

The information regarding the four major Paths in the world revolved in Aaron's mind as he heard this, making him recall that Body Practitioners used the Energy absorbed by Cores to train their own bodies, and turn them into formidable weapons that they could use however they wished.

Each Path had its advantages and drawbacks, and the main advantage of this Path was that it allowed one to have complete and direct control over what they would be using to fight.

Its disadvantage was that it placed one in risk, too, but this didn't matter in the context of an Ascender Challenge.

There were others, too, but these stood out to Aaron as he thought about it. Each Path was balanced, and each Path would allow one to display their power in different ways, depending on what suited them. Instead of forcing everyone to follow only one route, this did seem better.

When Aaron heard the tall man's statement, though, he got a doubt.

"What if I have two Teras?"

He had just been witness to fights where the advantages and roles of classes in Teras had been explained and shown to him, so he wondered why there was no chance to use them. True, he didn't have a support Tera, but what if he did?

The tall man looked taken aback as he heard this, and after a second, he said, "Well, this is a Hamlet which only has me, so if you want to use it, you'll have to wait a bit. How would it be fair for me, a single guy, to fight against two of your Teras? Consider you have another assault Tera, wouldn't I be attacked from both sides? If so, wouldn't Tera Masters simply be able to go out and collect as many as they could before throwing them all into battle and hoping for a victory?"

The questions that the man raised all made sense, but he still hadn't gotten his answer.

Seeing Aaron wait, he understood, and spoke again.

"There are different types of settlements, too, based on the type of battle that you want to engage in. The goal of the Path to the Stars is to test an Ascender in all aspects of their power. This includes all fighting styles, so the World Government ensures that no matter what kind of power you have, you can use it to Ascend and grow stronger. The system here is that if an Ascender wishes to battle using multiple Teras, a request should be made beforehand, and the settlement he puts the request to will send it to the World Government. The World Government then sends either another person to even out the scale, or someone to replace the leader temporarily, too, if needed. All you need to know is that if you want to use two Teras, you should have told me beforehand, and preparations would have been made. We can call it off-"

Interrupting him, Aaron said, "No, I was just curious. We can begin."

Saying so, Aaron sent a message to Woof, who padded forward and entered the arena while keeping a close eye on his opponent.

The tall man smiled as he heard this, and instantly bent low.

Instantly, Aaron was able to recognize that he was using the basic technique that had been written in the booklet given to him after the Orientation. It dictated that a Body Practitioner should stay low, so that they would be ready to move in any direction quickly if they wished.

This seemed like common sense, but Aaron had thought that maybe it wasn't so common, and that was why it needed to be listed.

Slowly, the two started circling each other, and Aaron waited for his opponent to make the first move.

He had already spotted a weapon tucked in the man's trousers, and he expected him to try and surprise him with it when the time came to strike.

True enough, after two more seconds, the tall man actually…somersaulted forward.

He used his hands to drive his body, and the amazing thing was that because his body was so long, he could cover the 10 feet of distance between them in a blink.

But why was he so…slow?

Was this supposed to be a surprise attack?

Was there another surprise attack hidden within his attack?

Warily, Aaron and Woof watched as the man finished his somersault and leaped at the end of it, drawing out the knife and getting a ferocious expression on his face.

It was at this moment that something changed. That expression seemed to have some sort of…effect on the area around him, and it reminded Aaron a lot of the feeling they would get when they were up against a formidable foe.

This guy…seemed weak, though, and even the feeling was weak.

The first time Aaron had felt it, he had been frozen, as it was a kind of aura that would make one feel that they would die if they even moved.

Slowly, though, he had gotten accustomed to it, so now, this seemed…laughable.

Around him, he noticed that the other Hamletfolk had gotten victorious expressions on their faces, as if they expected him to lose in the next moment.

However, Woof simply…jumped aside, and the tall man simply fell to the ground.

A silence came over the area as everyone witnessed this, and even the tall man looked extremely puzzled.

'Huh? He just started on his Path! Why isn't my precious technique working? You two should be frozen and scared by now!'

These thoughts ran through his mind, and by this time, Aaron had figured out exactly what was going on.

The act of making that feeling appear…had been his trump card, and as even Woof understood this and turned to him, both of them shrugged.

Well…this was anticlimactic.

Not wanting to drag it on unnecessarily any longer, Aaron told Woof to just end it, following which the Tera actually…blurred.

This made even Aaron feel shock, as Woof had been nowhere as fast before. Was this the effect of the breakthrough?

In nary a moment's time, the Tera was about to clamp its jaws on the tall man's jugular, and seeing this, he shouted, "I admit defeat!"

As if expecting it, Woof simply shut its mouth and took about bound to land beside Aaron.

The entire Hamlet could only stare with horror at the Tera which had defeated their famous Chief effortlessly, and as Aaron scratched his eyebrow and spoke up the about the same thing that was on both of their minds, frustration replaced this emotion, and the tall man felt like finding a burrow to hide his head in.

"Umm…are we done? We're hungry."
