Settling down. 3

No one spoke not even Elrick and Fred who both had frowns on their faces. In the crowd some had smirks clearly enjoying the ongoing scene.

"But of course we can't have ourselves all behaving as we want. Unruly elements could be present amongst ourselves, so I think we should set down some rules. Dos and donts that will receive retribution when committed."

"And who is gonna give it decide the retribution." another female voice piped up from another angle of the platform. Heads turned as did Michael's about to hunt out the owner when another voice spoke.

"Should we be discussing this. We all just landed here naked, no clue to what or where we are and you lot are fighting for authority"

a new voice shouted out.

Michael didn't bother finding it as soon another voice spoke and then another and soon shouting filled the area.

"Chaos." he muttered before eyeing the entire crowd. Turning he hopped off the beam climbing down the statue to the ground and without a glance back disappeared into the streets.

In the crowd a female stood hand on her waist and finger talking absentmindedly on her lips. Her eyes fixed on tbe spot Michael had disappeared behind into the streets.

"Does he know something" she powdered curious. Soon she too began weaving through the crowd. Fortunately she wasn't the only one leaving as everyone now figured it best to do thing their own way and figure out anything they could kn there own.

So her leaving was not a bit suspicious like Michael's had been.

Reaching tbe spot she saw him pass she stopped looking around not knowing where he disappeared to. Disappointed she picked a direction and walked off.

Michael completely unaware of his follower got back to the house he ran into. First thing be checked was the key he had. Trying out the keys be went through all the doors till he'd used all and ascertained that the house keys were all here.

Which begged another question. Why was the last place opened that room?.

Looking around the large compound that he was claiming for himself he nodded. The compound was not to big nor too small. A small flower fence separated the compound from the street. A field of grass covered the ground with just a line of cobblestone pathway leading from the entrance to the gate.

The House itself was nothing to brag about and also worth calling a home.

Sighing he looked to the sky something he had not done yet. There was no sun probably hidden behind some clouds. The sky was blue just as it should be.

Walking inside he shut the door and then exhaling he faced the house his back to the door.

"Time to explore"

What followed was a thorough ransacking of the house from tbe living room to the three bedrooms, exempting the fourth room. By the time he came back to the living room it was dim outside and he was tired.

A chilly breeze swept through the house making a slight shiver pass through his bones while he sat down. Looking up he noted the open window which he promptly closed shutting out the wind. But the interior of the house became dark.

"Light and warmth".

Nodding he moved his eyes locking on the fireplace then he swept his gaze over the room finding various candles and sticks on walls which he recognized to be torches.

" How to get fire."he mattered. Walking to the fireplace he saw two Flint's at the corner of the fireplace. Looking into the hearth he saw only black coal and pieces of burnt wood remains.

Pondering how to get wood he stood and made for the door.

'Hopefully there's a place for wood or something. I doubt they wouldn't have a store. Haven't seen a place to get logs close by and I doubt we are still in a place with any modern or technological tools'

He walked out the door and into the compound the sky was dimmer than earlier. It was obvious that night was drawing closer.

No idea how long it had been he turned and looked to his right walking that way. The side of the house was just as normal as the front but up ahead he noted another structure there.

It was a smaller looking place. Reaching it noted that he was now at the back of the house. The yard behind was larger than the front. There was a stable to the left of the yard.

Dummies we're planted into the field in various rows while there was a target mark at the far end of the field.

Taking the scene he ignored it first then turned to the small house to his right.

Inside was larger and ore spaced out. To the left was a huge stack of wood. Smiling he then glanced to the other side and saw a smith shoo.

"Blacksmith?" he asked himself before walking closer. His eyes scanned everything while his fingers ran over it.

'Dust'. The place had been abandoned but not for too long.

'Which means... whatever happened here and why we are here must be linked."nodding as he felt his speculation to be right he turned and walked away.

Entering back into the house with a heap of logs in hand he deposited them at the base if the fireplace then tossed in some wood. Looking at the flint he sighed and the war began.

It took a good twenty minutes to get a fire started and soon a warm glow filled the room. Picking and using a lot branch he went round the house lighting up the various torches that he could find until the building was lit up as best as torches could allow.

Sitting he began perusing his finds.
